About Titan GPS

Titan GPS is a cloud-based fleet management solution that helps fleet operators track and manage vehicles, equipment and mobile assets across Canada and the United States. GPS tracking hardware and tailored service plans are also available. Titan GPS is recommended for any size business that relies on fleet assets.

The Titan GPS mapping dashboard utilizes Google Maps and optional mapping overlay PatchMaps for the western Canadian oil and gas sector along with API integrations of GIS maps and other third-party applications.

Live tracking, history, landmarks, driver behaviour and coaching, alerts, service reminders and fleet analytics help users manage costs, track productivity and monitor safety. Other available hardware includes electronic logging devices (ELD), fleet camera systems and mobile WiFi.

Pricing includes a one-time hardware cost and monthly maintenance fees.

Website is easy to use

Vehicle abuse has dropped significantly because drivers know that it is possible to track them. In the past we had people park damaged units at the Automotive Bay anonymously and we could not hold anyone accountable for the damage. Sometimes damages would be a high a $15,000 to one unit. I also like the ability to track idling time on the Light Vehicle Fleet which we can target for future costs savings.

Pros:

I really like the fact that I can find a unit on our site just by logging into the Website. I n addition, I like being able to see who the last driver without having to run a long report.

Cons:

Some of the report titles are not clear about what the report is about (Laymen's term would be nice)

Pleased with the change

very good, glad that we made the switch. We really like to PC version for our admin. Our field manager really likes GPS Fleet app and how real time is is.

ease of use, initial set-up and support. Our admin team appreciates how simple it is to implement

Cons:

our company runs a fair bit in non cellular areas and this has caused some admin issues with the tracking. Have not yet figured out how to track our trailers for maintenance (MVI's), working on that next.

Reasons for switching to Titan GPS

outdated and not user friendly. Customer support was not at a level that we were expecting.

Waste of money- better options out there

Sub par customer service, very little support and the product is not easy or simple to use. We had an accident with two of our vehicles and I could not find the footage of it, and no customer experience person EVER responded to me.

The equipment was easy to install, that is honestly the only highlight of this service! Not much else to brag on.

Cons:

Have an issue? Good luck getting ahold of someone or ever hearing back on your problem. The interface is clunky and the capabilities are low. Other than a few times where GPS tracking has helped us, this has been a colossal waste of money.

User Friendly. It does not go into driver mode unless you go over a certain speed so yard moves are easier to do.

Cons:

Sometimes does not connect right away. you have to close app and retry.

Pros:

I have always found the devices exceed the life expectancy of the vehicles they are installed in. Some of them have lasted for almost 10 years and we would likely still be using them if our needs did not require us to upgrade to units with more features.

Cons:

They require a cellular signal to update to the network. Occasionally units will glitch and require resetting by service. To my recollection this has only ever happened a couple of times over the last few years. It has not happened once since we upgraded to the newer units last year.

Absolutely the worst business decision we’ve made

Absolutely the worst business decision we’ve made was signing a 5-year contract with Titan GPS. From the very beginning, their devices rarely worked properly. We experienced constant issues with tracking our fleet — the core reason we got their service in the first place. Every time we raised the problem, we were told it could be fixed, but nothing ever changed. Despite ongoing malfunctions and a total lack of usable service, they locked us into a long-term contract and refused to let us out. Over the course of five years, we spent over $15,000 on a service that did not function as promised, making it a complete waste of money. Titan GPS has proven to be inflexible, unhelpful, and completely unwilling to take accountability for their non-working product. If you're considering them — don’t. There are far better GPS providers out there that actually deliver what they promise.

Reasons for switching to Titan GPS

We made the switch because after 5 years with Titan GPS, we were still dealing with the same issues we had from day one — unreliable tracking, poor customer service, and constant excuses instead of real solutions. We gave them every opportunity to fix the problems, but nothing ever improved. In the end, we had to stop wasting money on a system that didn’t work and move to a provider that could actually support our operations and deliver on their promises.

its workable, I am not using it to full potential and need some training to use some of the features. I would like to have maintenance reporting feature attached to it.

I like the mapping and tracking of vehicles feature, easy to tell where they are and if moving or not. like that the truck info with serial number is on map page and easy to see.

Cons:

1. service alerts cant set up advance emails, only when they have gone past due 2.hours of service dash board - no column for what hours you are getting back the next day. 3 lack of understanding how hours of service unidentified driving and malfuctions & Diagnostics pages

Pricing themselves out of the Market!!

its not any better than any other system on the market

Cons:

You are pricing yourselves right out of the market A GPS unit was $99 to buy. Now after being bought out, you charge $499 AND for a car or halfton you charge $499. Do you know I can get the same service, same reporting , same everything for $35 per month, no contract, no upfront costs! I will never recommend Titan GPS to anyone

Review of Titan

I find the people who work for Titan genuinely want to help, but there are too many glitches and not enough training support. There should be 1 training video with several modules that I can send to field staff for training.

The platform seems simple to use, but there is no training for the guys in the field and there are many glitches.

Cons:

The guys have trouble logging in. It always says incorrect user or password and that is not the case. When you call in, Titan acts like this is the first time it has happened and I find that impossible to believe. Also, sometime the GSP does not switch to on duty and stays on driving all afternoon which messes up the logs and it can not be fixed.
