About APM

APM is a SaaS solution to keep an eye on the status of all systems in an ICT environment. From servers to networks, from databases to applications, from on-premise data centers to public clouds.

By combining the data coming from all those objects, organizations can obtain actionable insights in the IT environment health.

APM is primarily used by technical staff to pinpoint their actions to prevent incidents or to resolve them if they occur nevertheless.

Non-technical staff can view visualizations ('maps') that inform them about any IT-related issues that (may) impact business processes and services.

Besides the basic monitoring of performance, stability and capacity of IT systems, APM also provides data related to security (vulnerabilities) and hardware/software specifications (asset information).

The built-in reporting engine provides valuable data for technical and non-technical audiences for future decision-making.

APM; tijdens dagelijks gebruik

Wanneer je de 'eigen' ICT omgeving kent is die in APM goed herkenbaar. Echter, wanneer er zaken wijzigen duurt het nogal eens erg lang voordat de 'maps' worden aangepast. Dat zou mi. echt nog verbetering behoeven en snelheid (van het verwerken van wijzigingen in de infrastructuur) door de aangewezen technici van Acknowledge is daarin een belangrijke factor.

Pros:

Toegang tot APM is goed beveiligd en dat is mi. een 'must' met alle digitale dreigingen om ons heen. Verder kan er gefilterd en gezocht worden waardoor 'inzoomen' tijdens een controle ronde goed mogelijk is.

Cons:

Soms mis ik alerts van de hoogste prioriteit op de 'landingspagina' waarop ik APM binnenkom. Dat is onwenselijk omdat mi. daarmee een onnodig risico genomen wordt op het 'missen' van belangrijke alerts.
