About PetPocketbook

PetPocketbook is a comprehensive pet care software designed to help businesses manage client communications, invoicing, billing and compensation tracking, staff scheduling and other processes on a unified platform. Dog walkers can collect information about contact details, pets' vaccination or birthdays and related pick-up instructions within a centralized profile.

Managers can view employee or team schedules on a calendar and calculate commissions based on completed services and received tips. PetPocketbook allows businesses to accept online payments via one-time or automated transactions, bank transfers and credit cards. PetPocketbook automatically creates invoices and delivers them to clients based on a custom frequency.

Excellent Business Management Software for Pet Care Professionals

It is a great option for pet care businesses that I feel will live up to higher expectations as updates are developed and become available.

Pros:

I love that it is a Boston-based company because it's important to me to support local. I really like that the PetPocketbook staff is pleasant and knowledgeable and personally helps you set up your business in the software by way of easily scheduled video meetings. They are also very easily reached by, and highly responsive to an up-front integrated email help portal which also includes an easily searchable and thorough FAQ section. I love that most everything can be personalized to your specific business. The interface is my favorite because of the functionality, color scheme, personalized pictures, & whimsical design. I also love having a centralized place through which to run my business and give my clients access to everything they could need to effectively interact with us. I like that it integrates well with Quickbooks. Finally, it comes at an excellent price point.

Cons:

The calendar cannot be integrated or exported to outside calendar apps. The app is still in beta and lacks a lot of functionality. The mobile version is also not as fully functional as the desktop version. I also hope to see more calendar view options than just the day-at-a-time option currently available. I also find that I do not receive notifications when someone messages so I have to check the software frequently for updates. I would also like to see an option to have staff schedule emailed and/or notifications alerting staff/clients of anything new and/or upcoming.

Reasons for choosing PetPocketbook

PetPocketbook seemed simpler to navigate and customize and seemed much better suited to the smaller business. I was also quite drawn to the interface and the price point.

they keep you in the know with what they are working on, efficiently handle any user questions and I love the pet parent profiles.

Cons:

web browser and that videos will sometimes take a while to upload/ drain my battery. another thought- for clients that have passed away, I was hoping there would be a voided style situation instead of having to leave the pet on there or delete the past pets overall info. also it might be nice to have a link where clients are able to set up their profiles directly from the website after filling out their inquiry form.

Exceptional Pet Management Software

My overall experience with PetPocketbook has been an exceptional one. It is worth far more than what I pay for the software in my opinion.

Pros:

I like that clients can request and cancel their own appointments in the app. I used to have clients calling, emailing and texting along with my staff which made it difficult to manage all of our visit dates and times. The scheduling feature is a life saver!

Cons:

Some of the icons are hard to find due to the colors. If the user is unaware of a certain feature, unless they hover over the particular field or are shown the field the user is not aware it is there/available. Employee compensation piece. I have several staff members who all make different amounts due to their different start dates, but cancellations and Holiday pay are a little difficult to manage through the compensation piece in PetPocketbook.

An all comprehensive platform that has saved my business!

Absolutely love using Petpocketbook for now over a year! It has enabled me to run my business in a much more efficient way. I love that the team behind it is very supportive and constantly evolves the tool with new features and improvements every year. PetPocketBook is a fantastic tool that keeps me organize whether it's for billing, keeping the team agenda well organized or accessing financial reports essential to develop my company further. I run my business mainly from abroad, and I would have never been able to maintain it without Petpocketbook!

That it has all the features i could need for my business: invoicing, schedule, client portfolio, client communication, staff pay reports. It's so complete and makes my life so much easier since I joined.

Cons:

It's not a con but it's the fact it isn't available for clients as an app yet. So sometimes clients forget how to login, etc...

Reasons for switching to PetPocketbook

I used timetopet when i was working for another company. I found it very old style, and I didn't like the pricing structure.

So User Friendly

Would recommend! While there are some short comings, they are small in comparison to the benefits that PetPocketbook brings to my business.

PetPocketbook is so easy to use. It has just the right amount of detail without being too overwhelming. The regular updates have added lots of imporvements! It's also extremely cost effective.

Cons:

There's no official app, although the beta app has been going well. It would be nice if clients could create an account without needing the business to prompt a invitation link.

Wonderful software. Excellent customer service.

Easy software to navigate. Even for people like myself that find most technology difficult. I've been using it for over a year now and am so glad I found Pet Pocketbook to help streamline my pet sitting business.

Finally, a solid platform for dog hiking companies!

Overall, it's been a great experience. The onboarding team is amazing and truly wants to work with you to maximize the customer experience. Billing is a very simple process for me now. Scheduling is getting easier and I'm looking forward to analyzing the reporting data after a few months in. So far, SO good!

Pros:

Love the mapping feature as my business is logistics based. I'm able to see where all of our client pickups are and optimize my routes right in the system. Planning our weekly hiker schedule is a lot easier using this platform.

Cons:

Still working out some of the kinks with client communications, apps, etc. but they are getting there. Very responsive to customer input.
