We bought it with my friends who has brother or sister ages under 14 so we discovered it is useful for their education life and psychology.

Cons:

Videos sometimes lose their charm for the children who has hyperactivity problem.

Looking for a new Student Information System? Go with Alma!

Being an early adopter of a product is sometimes a headache. However, Alma support was with us from day one and has been with us each step of the way for several years. Coupled with the stability and up-time, it's been a fantastic experience since 2019.

As far as the platform goes, the communication components and reporting customization are wonderful. The intuitiveness for a bulk of our users has been quite a time saver over the years. Lastly, the clean aesthetics give Alma the feel of a modern system.

Cons:

There isn't much to say about what I least like. Every once in a while there is a glitch with a needed report or function, but Alma Support has come through efficiently with these issues.

Alma just met what we were looking for. Plus, we were looking for a fresh approach to a student information system.

User Friendly Alma SIS

My overall experience with Alma SIS has been great. I transferred our district from our old SIS to Alma on my own and felt confident during every step with the help of Alma's implementation team. We have been using Alma for 4 years and recently surveyed staff on their experience using Alma. The majority of responses were all positive.

It's accessible, intuitive, and very user-friendly. The Study Guide is easy to understand and extremely helpful. The customer support is great. This is the third SIS I've used, and it's definitely my favorite.

Cons:

There are definitely SIS providers that have been around longer and have more features and integrations. Alma is still growing, so they are adding new and improved features all the time. They are lacking somewhat in customizations, and implementing them can take a while.

Reasons for choosing Alma SIS

Ease of use and accessibility. I also appreciated their low-pressure sales approach. Alma SIS also had a sandbox site we could test in, which was super helpful in deciding to go with them.

Reasons for switching to Alma SIS

eSchoolPLUS felt cumbersome and difficult to use by most staff. We used it for several years and most staff were unhappy with the product. We were part of a package with another school district, which also limited our ability to import/export information or integrate any software.

I love the customization options for charting health visits. I really like that I can create a group so I can add in info for multiple students at a time.

Cons:

The site is a little outdated in its graphics and the look of it. I feel like it could use a little redesign to make it look more user friendly.

Alma SIS is an organized system for the entire school, from Administration to Student/Teacher/Parent needs - everything is user friendly and easily accessible. The support received is also excellent.

Cons:

The ability to customize data, for example, add languages etc to the list - there are only a few languages listed, adn for an International School, we would like to list the multiple languages our students speak.

Alma is as close as you can get to a one-stop shop for our educators, administrators, and office staff! Personally, I loved the Scheduling features that can be purchased as an add on service and integrated into the Alma system.

Cons:

I wish that there was a way to incorporate a "Google Classroom" -like feature where students could do there would from within Alma.

We switched from Praxi to Alma for more of a user-friendly system that had more to offer.

I wish more reports could print in PDF. I would like comments to print for absences.

The he details on students we are able to put in and scan documents and up load them to the students file is so time saving.

Cons:

It may be user error. But being able to download only your classes attendance at once would be handy. For up to a week maybe.

I love how the Spreadsheet Data Editor lets you update information in one place—it’s a total time-saver

Cons:

The bell schedule update process. It requires either a manual change or uploading a file, which isn’t very efficient. An easier or automated way to make updates would save time and reduce errors.
