Helpful tool for growing startups.

It is great for what we need right now, especially R&D work and keeping track of inventories. Notebooks are easy to track as well as solution preparation. I feel this is a great product for startup that is growing fast.

Pros:

It makes experiments easier to find, execute and also it is faster to complete notebooks. As a scientist using IGOR it cut down time 20%-30% in the lab instead to looking for co-workers' notebooks and inventories. The IGOR team is really fast at replying when we need help.

Cons:

It does not print all the appendices, the more notebook writeup we have, the slower the experiments are to add.

Perfect ELN and inventory system for R&D Biotech and Regulated Lab

Igor is the right choice for a start-up to medium-sized Biotech. It provides time-stamped ELN services and the inventory system that will help to manage the R&D and QC lab efficiently. The interface is very user-friendly. It provides a lot of great features, such as a template system, a cross-reference function, and data integrity features to ensure the implementation of ELN in the research setup and compliance environment. The platform is powerful but budget-friendly.

Igor has a lot of great features at a reasonable price. It is suitable for both R&D and routine testing. The ELN is well organized and easy to learn and use.

Cons:

It would be great if Igor could provide software validation services and enable users to back up their data on our server.

Overall my experience with IGOR has been pleasant, the customer service team has been very responsive and helped me resolve any issues I have. And overall the system itself has been relatively straightforward to learn and get used to, and is a lot more secure than excel where you are more liable to accidently delete data.

We've been using this ELN in our lab for a while now, and overall, it’s made a big difference in how we manage our inventory and data. The interface is really intuitive, which made transitioning from an Excel-based system much smoother than I expected. Setting up databases and storage locations was straightforward, and the system’s features are pretty flexible, so we could adapt it to fit our specific needs. I particularly appreciate the audit trail, which tracks everything—this is great for maintaining accuracy and meeting compliance standards. The customisation options are also a big plus, allowing us to tweak things like fields and workflows to suit our lab’s processes.

Cons:

That said, there are still a few areas where fine-tuning could make the experience even better. For someone new to the software, it would be helpful to have additional troubleshooting options available within the system itself on top of what is already present. If you're unsure about something, having a clearer set of in-app guides or FAQs would make it easier to resolve issues without needing to reach out for external support.

Easy to Use, Actively Supported, and Evolving

It’s been a positive experience overall. The team is responsive and detail-focused, especially when it comes to compliance. The system works well for us, and we’re excited to see how it continues to develop and improve. What I like most about IGOR is the ongoing support. Help doesn't just stop once you’ve bought the product—they stay involved and responsive. They’ve taken on feedback and actually made changes based on it, which has been great to see. It’s also really easy to make changes to the platform yourself without needing coding skills or support from a tech team. The pricing is very reasonable, and adding guest users is affordable—especially useful for CROs.

Cons:

Some features are still being developed, and we’re particularly looking forward to the cell culture tracker being added. IGOR’s clearly still actively evolving.

Intuitive ELN with First-Rate Customer Care

As CEO, I'm not in the lab day-to-day anymore, but it's important for me to stay connected to what's happening across our projects. IGOR makes that easy. The team loves using it and it's intuitive and fits seamlessly into their workflow. I also really value being able to track progress and review entries quickly from anywhere with an internet connection. That level of visibility and accessibility just isn’t possible with paper-based notebooks. Overall, it’s been a great addition to how we operate.

The platform is easy to use and makes it simple for us to document experiments and manage our SOPs without the usual hassle of using paper-based notebooks. Best decision ever

We are a small team so we do not have the time to invest in long trainings, therefore the intuitive look of IGOR was a perfect match. We also plan to extend to two more laboratories in different countries and using IGOR will allow us to track progress in the different labs, something we look very much forward to.

IGOS is super intuitive and we were all able to use it from day 1. The acceptance of my team members for IGOR was very enthusiastic from the start. We got the licence 2 weeks after we were GIVIMP certified and it was very easy to adapt the functionalities to the needs of GIVIMP.

Cons:

Cannot think of anything. We explored several options but IGOR came out as the clear number 1 of our due diligence.

So powerful, yet amazingly simple.

IGOR is incredible! The interface is modern and intuitive, making it easy to navigate. With IGOR, the setup was a breeze, and the learning curve was minimal. Everything is logically organized, making it super easy to use. Overall, I highly recommend it!

The search and filter functions are really helpful. I often need to compile reports on new target candidates, and being able to retrieve all relevant experiments so quickly has been a huge help. I love the mobile app! I still take most notes on paper, as I don’t like using my laptop in the lab and we don’t have tablets. With the app, I can just snap a picture of my notes and upload them directly to my notebook entry. It’s really straightforward. I also use the app to take pictures of my bacterial cultures to document the coloring/opacity of the liquid culture while optimizing growth conditions for new strains and constructs. The Templates and SOPs are easy to set up and can save a lot of time.

Cons:

Nothing really, just impatiently waiting for a few of the features that they still have in the pipeline.
