Getting Organized

My experience so far has been very positive. I do not have a lot of time being a small tax office. Each person I have worked with has been very patient and accommodating to my schedule and needs. I'm excited to be able to have a better level of organization of work flow.

Pros:

I've been doing a demo with Basil for a while trying to figure out a better way to manage my accounting office and keep up with the work flow and deadlines. Having the ability to easily have clients sign documents is a godsend! The support staff has been very patient in helping me learn how to get things done. I look forward to having a smoother tax season and to manage all my bookkeeping clients instead of writing sticky notes to lose.

Cons:

Having to learn something new. I will say the staff has been very patient in helping me traverse the software.

Reasons for choosing Basil

Consistency in helping me understand how to use the product and how it can benefit my firm. Having someone to connect with made a difference in my choice.

Not sure yet.

To be honest it hasn't been my cup of tea, but I am also not familiar with it yet. So, I am going to give it time.

Pros:

The customer support has been great. Every time we email over to [sensitive content hidden] ,he has replied instantly.

Cons:

It's hard to say because it's still new to me. From what I see so far, you can't seem to move or download multiple documents all at once, you only can do it one by one. The client has to Put in their PIN when opening up the signature page to sign but then, to complete the task it has you enter in another PIN that was sent to your email. Having to enter in two PINs can get confusing to the clients, especially the older ones. I do not like how only the support team can change an email on a user's account especially during busy system. Such an inconvenience.

Not too sure why. Overall, I heard that it was better for the number of clients we took in.

Thanks for your valuable feedback. We have removed the requirement for a client to enter a PIN two times. We will also add the ability for your team to edit client emails without assistance from the support team. Basil does support downloading or moving multiple documents all at once (click on "Select" -> select the files you wish to download or move -> click on "Download" or "Move"). So easy for the client to use. I like how the file folders are setup for each client. Then there is a running of activity received.

Cons:

Not much to say here, to early to tell at this point.

Amazing Product for Everyday USe

Every interaction I have had with Basil has been fantastic. They are responsive, amazing at follow up and so very easy to work with. You have a problem, or don't understand something and they are always happy to direct you where to get help or show you where you went wrong in putting things in.

Pros:

I love how easy it is to track my tasks, share information securely and keep my schedule organized. The best part of Basil however is how fantastically responsive they are for everything from Customer Support to suggested changes and updates to making their product a better fit.

Cons:

The only cons I have found are the app for Android isn't published yet.

Reasons for switching to Basil

Basil is better set up to manage the tasks and scheduling I need. I love how it defaults to showing you current items and makes set up for recurring tasks and projects a breeze.

New Product, Mixed review, hoping it will continue to improve.

So far so good, we did have to drop the document management and signature aspects.

I really like the practice management side of things. The ability to look at data in a spreadsheet form is awesome!

Cons:

I don't love the document sharing side of things. I also do not like the fact that once you send a client an invite you can't resend it. Clients are not great at acting right away. I don't like that there are things that ONLY one person in our company can do. This creates a bottle neck.

Practice management was difficult, but stayed with them for document management.

We are continuously making improvements to our product and if you can reach out to Basil Support, we would be happy to address your feedback on our roadmap. 2. Basil does support resending an invite to a client who has not responded. After adding a client, click on the three-dot menu for that client and you will see a "Resend Invite" button. 3. Basil has a flexible permissions system that lets you add custom roles, add custom permissions into each role, and add team members into roles so that multiple people on your staff can perform tasks safely. Pros:

It is very user friendly and our clients LOVE it as it's really easy to upload documents compared to our last portal. We have so many other options as well that we haven't even begun to use but are excited about (i.e., forms, auto sign, emails, chats, etc.) Also, it's nice to have a few contacts we can actually speak to along with the support link which we did NOT have before. Lastly, the integration from our old portal to Basil has been easy as we just hit upload or drag the files from one the old to the new. It's not some tedious, long process.

Cons:

I haven't found one yet but if I do you'll be first to know. Really excited about this portal as it already has simplified my job immensely. Thank you.

Reasons for switching to Basil

Clients could not load documents, the upload button would disappear all of a sudden. No phone or chat support. Only contact via email, which I will say he did respond in a timely manner but never really resolved our issues.

New Basil User

So far, I am really liking the website. It is a learning curve but that is normal with new software. I think it will be very valuable as we use it.

Pros:

The dashboard is key. I like that you have a dashboard for your company and then 1 for each client. The ability to have documents signed by clients through Basil is a great feature/

Cons:

The demo made everything look easy. However, once I started using it, some of the features I feel will be most valuable are hard to figure out how to use in real situations.

Accountants world cloud cabinet was limited in storage, was not user friendly, and was too expensive.
