Pros:

I love how easy Basil is to use and that it gives me a secure platform in which I can store and share confidential information with my clients. And the support team at Basil is always friendly and helpful.

Cons:

I don't use all the great features Basil has to offer and when I do look into using more features, I would like to be able go directly to Basil and lookup "how to" videos on different features.

It seemed easier to use and didn't seem to charge for every feature.

Another great product from Coraltree

Great! Love this file share program. Thank you CoralTree for developing another great product to free up time! I no longer need to run to client's offices to retrieve documents.

Pros:

Ease of use for both my staff and my clients. Basil was extremely easy to set up and use. I receive notices when anything is uploaded which helps me stay on top of task that need to be handled. I can upload multiple files at once by dropping and dragging. I love the 2 step authentication to keep my documents secure. The pricing is extremely fair for the space and ease of use. My clients love it as well.

Cons:

There are some large files that I am unable to upload but I really don't have anything else about the program that I am unhappy with.

Cost of the annual subscription was 38% less then Citrix.

Still evolving but making great strides.

Overall, I'm very happy with the decision to purchase Basil. They have a lot of development yet to be done, but the fact that they are willing to listen and understand the reasons for the functions needed is great. Having worked in this industry for over 20 year and used many project management systems, I am more than willing to share my knowledge and they are willing to listen.

Pros:

I love the response timing. Everyone is always quick to respond even if only to get more information to check with others for the solution. Also, they are very open to suggestions.

Cons:

I struggle with the advertising for this to be perfect for accounting firms, yet I feel like I am teaching things they should already know. There are many things that I would think to be common sense that are not programmed. Like not being able to use apostrophes in the last name field. The report's capability and functions are SERIOUSLY lacking.

Reasons for choosing Basil

There were many more than just those. Basil could handle more of the functions that I was looking for than most. And the price wasn't outragous.

Could no longer handle the amount of clients we had.

A balance of affordability and key features

The basil team has been amazing, [sensitive content hidden] on the customer success team reaches out regularly to discuss the platform, ask if I have any questions or requests and just to see how everything is going.

Pros:

Basil has all of the key features I want and need in my accounting firm in order to communicate and share documentation with clients effectively. The platform is simple and easy to use. I love having a singular location to keep client data secure. The platform is also very affordable compared with other competitors.

Cons:

Basil seems to be a newer platform, and with that I will say there are a few rough edges that could be smoothed out or simple feature implementations that would be a great quality of life improvement for me and my clients such as email integration, easier file management ect.

Basil is not only so easy to use with my clients, I love that I can keep all of my documents, signatures, and invoicing all in one place!

Cons:

There is very similar platforms that offer more: goals and integrations with QBO (to ask client questions and aid in closing). I really wish there was a way for clients to see tasks that have been completed.

It got too costly having to pay per client to have workflows that are available in QBO.

Basil is great for growing businesses

I really love how it allows me as an owner to create tasks and work flows quickly with staff. They can also create tasks for me that they need me to follow up on with them or clients.

simplicity and ease of use. Training was not excessive in time and myself and staff were able to catch on quickly.

Cons:

Getting my clients onboard to use it. For the most part, they are onboard after the 1st month. It took some time though for them to understand the importance of protecting their data through secured uploads and downloads.

New to using Basil

Since we are learning as we go along, it seems to be user friendly. Support team has been great to work with. I am sure once we know more about this program we will understand it better.

Our firm has just started to work in the Basil program so we are learning as we go along with different scenarios. The dashboard seems very user friendly for our users (internal & external). We really appreciate the speedy answers to our question via chat from your support team. I have just stated reviewing the training videos so hopefully my knowledge will grow.

Cons:

With our limited usage a this time with Basil until we gain knowledge from watching videos and testing. I do see a downside with changing client emails. From my experience clients do ask to get their emails from time-to-time. Per your support team we were advised that our firm cannot change the email address associated with an existing Basil account. We were advised that if a change/modification is needed for a client's email that this would need to be done by your support team! I feel this is a waste of time, as we would normally be able to change the client's email in the past.

I am excited to tax time! I feel so sassy telling my client to put your tax forms in Basil and I'll get started right away

The trainer was perfect and it didn't take much time. I started using it and uploading client documents right after the 1st training. I felt like a pro right away. Our clients just started using it and are not having as much difficulty as they did with all the other programs like this. 1. I send one email 2. Our client logs in 3. The client gets an email when I add a document to their folders 4. A new client can have documents saved for them and a new client contract requesting an e-signature when they set up their login.

Basil has all the components needed for my accounting/tax firm. Every year I tried a new Client Management Software preparing for tax season. I'd end up frustrated and not using it after a few weeks. My clients said Basil is straightforward to use. The best part is they feel safer with the download security. No emailing, dropbox, or driving to the office. It has saved so much time. The presentation is very professional, making our firm look cutting-edge.

Cons:

The only thing I can think of to call the least liked thing is I get asked "What is Basil?"

An easy-to-use option for clients to share files.

I have not had any problems overall. My representative and I have discussed suggested capabilities on several occasions, and they have been open to the ideas.
