The Customer Service is excellent, very quick to respond and personalized when needed. The [sensitive content hidden] of Civic Review is hands on and easy to talk to.

Cons:

Unable to readily create Excel reports, it is possible but requires extra steps to create, but I understand it will be available soon.

Loved the ease of working with the team to set up the program. They were there every step of the way to help us. Anytime we needed help they were there. The program is very user friendly for the customer and for the users on the backend. We are able to make changes to the program ourselves. We can pull reports and everything we need.

Cons:

Every issue or suggestion we have had has been implemented. So far, we don't have any complaints. The product is really easy for our customers to use.

Civic Review...review

We continue to use Civic Review because the customer service has been phenomenal - better than any other software company I've used, the price is terrific, the software isn't over-complicated to navigate, and we can customize much of what we need.

Pros:

Fairly simple to use. I love that we can customize to our needs, with a few exceptions. I also like that Civic Review has an app for inspections and that inspections can still be performed without an internet connection.

Cons:

Unable to update formulas based on the latest ICC data table. Too complicated and requires Civic Review staff to make the change. Also, we would like to be able to guide permit applicants to the right permit type and fees to better automate the application process. The software doesn't appear to be able to do that without complicating the reporting, according to Heather. The Civic Review app can be a little glitchy when cell service is spotty. Also, too many email notifications are sent to everyone each time a permit review status is changed. Should be a way to streamline this and limit who receives which notifications without limiting software access and controls.

BEST SOFTWARE YET!

Staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. If we have suggestions on things we would like, they want to know and they help however they can. The support is AMAZING and they are so quick to respond. Would recommend this software to anyone that is looking for something that streamlines their processes, keeps everyone in the know, and is super user-friendly for everyone that uses it.

Very user-friendly and I really like the messages are all shown for everyone that can access the permit. Keeping everything in one spot really helps to ensure things do not slip through the cracks.

I have used the system for 2.5 years and I haven't found anything that I don't like.

Civic Review: An Essential Tool for Effective and Efficient Plan Review

Civic Review has been a game changer in our review and records management processes. Civic Review is super easy to use. It is also easy to customize it to our organization and our specific needs. Using Civic Review has increased the efficiency of both our plan review and record keeping. It also helps applicants have a consistent and predictable experience going through the application process. Finally, Civic Review has the most amazing and incredible customer service and support. They always are genuinely excited to help us out when we contact them with an issue and are quick to find a solution.

Cons:

That we waited so long before we started using it. Also, sometimes there is a bit of a learning curve for applicants who are used to paper submittals.

Stop looking...You need Civic Review

I am sold! I wont look for or solicit another software platform. They are the Apple of the local government software world. They just work, and thats all I need.

Ease of set up and operation! Its a solid producte that performs all that is asked of it. It seems to be boundless in applicability and function for a local government.

Cons:

I never like setting up new software and making sure things "make it over", but even this process was less painful. The team at Civic is so good at what they do and well versed in scenarios that require adaptability that they can troubleshoot most anything that comes their way.

Best Permitting Software

I can't say enough about how much our department likes Civic Review. It was easy to implement from the very beginning. It has met our department's needs from the start with building permits, land use, and business licensing. We will soon begin using it for code enforcement.

Pros:

Civic Review is an outstanding and user-friendly software for the public to submit land use, business licenses, and building permit applications. On the city side, it's an excellent tool for tracking applications, managing reviews, and maintaining departmental organization. We appreciate the ability for multiple departments to collaborate on a project simultaneously. As the Community Development Director, I find it incredibly helpful to quickly see where a project stands in the review or entitlement process. My staff also values how intuitive the platform is, how easily changes can be made, and how efficiently reports can be generated. Customer service has been exceptional. Overall, Civic Review is the best permitting and tracking software I’ve used—and I would absolutely choose it again.

Cons:

I don't really have any cons about Civic Review. It would be good in the future if it coordinated with GIS and geo-locating permits and licenses but for our city that would be more of a luxury then a need.

Great software for tracking Building Permits.

Civil Review does a great job for tracking building permits, Customer service is the best I have every had. Great experience. And pricing is better than other options.

User Friendly, Great for tracking permits, runs smooth with the internet base program, works well with phones, iPad, and PCs. There Customer service is extremely helpful and very quick to response to any questions. The pricing is less than other permit software.

Cons:

The reports are a little limited of what you can query. The inspection module works well however, you have to login into this module separately from the permit database which is an extra step but software work great. The inspection module can be limited in sorting the permit lists. That being said I really like the inspection reports, the violation items can be listed separately and is placed on the report clean and easy to read. With the reinspection the items can then be listed again and then you can just check the item off, with comments also,
