About Iru

Iru is the AI-powered IT & security platform used by the world's fastest-growing companies to secure their users, apps, and devices. Built for the AI era, Iru unifies identity & access, endpoint security & management, and compliance automation—collapsing the stack and giving IT & Security teams time and control back.

The Problem
IT & Security teams today juggle dozens of point solutions with separate consoles and data silos. There's no shared context or single view, so work slows and risk grows. Nearly half of teams cite overlapping tools as their top challenge. The stack is the problem.

Iru collapses the stack by bringing together the capabilities every business relies on. When they live in one place, they inform each other, and everything works better.

At the core is the Iru Context Model—a living map of your environment. On top of it sits Iru AI, which transforms complex data into clear, strategic insights and enables all products to inform and improve each other.

The Platform
Iru gives you a single view of your users, apps, and devices through six integrated products:

  • Workforce Identity delivers passwordless single sign-on with device-bound passkeys, context-aware access...
to every app, and automated user lifecycle management. - Endpoint Management provides advanced automation to onboard users, update apps, and enforce policies across Apple, Windows, and Android—all with a single lightweight endpoint agent. - Endpoint Detection & Response stops advanced and emerging threats with machine learning-enhanced detections, autonomous containment, and remediation in real time across Mac and Windows. - Vulnerability Management gives full visibility into software risk on Mac and Windows with autonomous response to patch vulnerable software, prioritized by Iru AI. - Compliance Automation is AI-native—transforming frameworks into tailored controls, breaking them into tasks, and mapping evidence automatically to keep you audit-ready." - Trust Center provides a public portal to share certifications, reports, and security posture to accelerate deals, with security questionnaires answered by Iru AI. Built for the AI Era Iru AI is designed from the ground up to connect agents across identity, endpoints, and compliance. Powered by the Iru Context Model, it understands your users, devices, and apps to act safely, intelligently, and in context across your organization. This gives IT & Security teams time and control back.

Iru Endpoint Management has been excellent for us

    5

Iru (formerly Kandji) has been an excellent MDM for us over the past four years. While we haven't explored the identity or vulnerability management side of things, they certainly have piqued my interest. I would recommend Iru.

    Pros:
One of the biggest things I like about Iru, besides the clean layout and ease of use, is assignment maps, which are a flexible way to assign different profiles to various machines without having to use multiple templates.
    Cons:
If there is anything I don't like about Iru, it would be the pricing. With the device count minimums, for smaller companies, it makes it harder to get budget approval.

    Reasons for choosing Iru

We chose Iru over Jamf Pro due to reviews and ease of use and clean UI.

    Reasons for switching to Iru

We needed more advanced profiles and to be able to comply with different frameworks like CIS/NIST.

Simple to use, deeply capable, and the best value for dollar I get period as an IT Manager

    5

Exceptionally positive. From first onboarding, their support and engineering team have been reachable, knowledgeable, and so so kind and helpful. Their product team is innovative, and are adding the features that I as am administrator want to see. And when they do roll out totally new functionality like they have done somewhat recently with EDR, with vulnerability management, and with cross-platform device management - it is EASY to show my executive team why moving to Iru for those needs is the right choice.

    Pros:
The first thing that drew my organization is was an MDM provider that is focused first and foremost on supporting our Apple-based ecosystem of devices - and Iru from day one has excelled at that. But as time has gone on and we have remained extremely happy customers, the platform has expanded to meet not just our Apple device management needs, but now cover our EDR needs, our vulnerability reporting, management for the few windows and android devices in our fleet - all while remaining easy to use, easy to navigate to where we need to go quickly, and constantly adding new quality of life features. They are committed to growth, not just into new sectors or categories - but to growing the product to make my job as an administrator using their tools easier and more effective.
    Cons:
give me D A R K M O D E please. I love your platform and the only thing that would make me love it more would be avoiding the flash bang of loading into my Iru dash from other white-on-black interfaces

    Reasons for choosing Iru

feature set, focus on the Apple ecosystem, ease of setup and use, and access to high quality support and documentation

    Reasons for switching to Iru

the focus and clarity of the product - prioritizing letting me do what I need to do quickly. Then the continual ongoing support and addition of new features has ensured I will remain a customer as long as possible.

    Pros:
We started using Kandji's MDM service to help with managing our fleet of Apple products . We chose this solution because when comparing it with incumbents they had the least barrier to entry and the most functionality for the price . Since implementing it, we’ve seen improvements in compliance with our policies through enforcement and fewer tickets to the IT team regarding installing corporate software, and I especially loves how easy it is to deploy new apps and policies across the fleet. The support team is so quick to answer and willing to really hop in and help build out solutions
    Cons:
One of the challenges we've faced with Kandji is that since they are newer than incumbents like JAMF some third party providers dont have explicit instructions for setting up their products with Kandji and you have to work a bit harder to implement.

    Reasons for switching to Iru

Needed more robust feature set with lower barrier to entry

Effortless MDM with Seamless Out-of-Box Provisioning

    5

Iru is solving our biggest challenge of maintaining a consistent security and compliance baseline across our rapidly growing fleet of Apple devices. It allows us to remotely enforce encryption, install critical security updates, and deploy required applications automatically. Crucially, Iru has made our device provisioning entirely hands-off. We can now simply ship a brand-new device directly to a user, and it automatically enrolls, configures, and secures itself right out of the box (OOBe) using Kandji's integration with Apple Business Manager. The immediate benefit is a massive reduction in manual IT workload, significant time savings for the IT team, and a reliable way to ensure zero-trust alignment for all endpoints, regardless of the user's location.

    Pros:
The ease of use and intuitive interface of Iru are exceptional. The platform allowed us to achieve full device management for our Mac and iOS fleet incredibly fast, making the Ease of Implementation a major upside. We especially appreciate the one-click actions, pre-built Blueprints, and how straightforward it is to deploy apps and enforce compliance. Their Customer Support has also been responsive and extremely knowledgeable whenever we've needed assistance.
    Cons:
While there's very little to dislike, we are looking forward to the continued expansion of features, particularly for advanced Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) capabilities and deeper integration with other core security platforms we use. This is a minor point, as the platform is already excellent for our core MDM needs.

    Reasons for choosing Iru

We chose Iru over competitors like Jamf and general UEM tools primarily because of its Apple-first simplicity and competitive pricing. Iru offers a comprehensive feature set for macOS and iOS management—including fantastic zero-touch provisioning and integrated security tools—but with a much more intuitive interface and significantly lower total cost of ownership compared to Jamf Pro. The ease of setup and the ability to maintain compliance without extensive manual scripting or specialized certifications made Iru the clear winner for our small IT team.

A must try for Mac admins starting out

    5

Overall, I enjoyed my experience with Iru. As someone who came from Jamf, Iru has simplified a lot of tasks which required me to spend time investigating and solving myself (including raising the issue with support team and rarely getting a solution out of it). Compared to Jamf it isn't as customisable, however Iru does its job well (including the available support team), and do recommend for any Mac admins only starting out in the MDM space.

    Cons:
-Currently the Iru AI, but this is more from a maturity perspective -The link to the Knowledge Base articles use to be easily found, currently have to search via Google to access it.

The product makes device management straightforward, it's feature-rich without being overwhelming, and it handles updates and patch management effortlessly. They are constantly adding new features, also from feature requests, which demonstrates great value for money.
    Cons:
It is not the cheapest product on the market, but it certainly managed to reduce the amount of time spent on device management to a minimum.

Iru is simple to deploy and and maintain. Its a great tool if you have very little mac experience and need something straight forward for deployment. Lots of out of the box configurations that require little to no coding experience. The price is also a great value.
    Cons:
The biggest thing Iru doesnt have is Remote Control. We don't like that we have to buy a second tool to fill this gap. If you are an experienced Mac Admin and have been using tools like Jamf for a long time, you might find it frustrating to use because it just does a lot of things automatically. If you like granular configurations, Iru's simplified approach takes some getting used to and comfortability with having less control. Ive heard the servers only exist in the US, might make it a problem for global companies (something to investigate).

Cost was the biggest driver in going with Iru.
