This finally fits how I actually work!

Overall, my experience has been extremely positive. FC is an affordable, flexible, time-saving PM system that my clients actually use—NO PASSWORD! FC is helping me scale my practice and my additional niche specific services with confidence.

Pros:
Flexible: I run my bookkeeping firm in it, track client administrative projects and nonprofit coaching tasks in it. This is amazing for me as I have a diverse set of business offerings and it fits the bill. Accounting software Integration: FC offers payment processing that integrates with my accounting system, AND integrates directly with my client's accounting systems to supporting and easy month end close process - saves clicks and time all around. NO PASSWORD client portal: This was the biggest hurdle with my clients in my old practice management system! Financial Cents removed that barrier and my clients are using it. What a breath of fresh air! Centralized Client Resources: Being able to put links to external resources is a game changer for me. Add that to a centralized emails inbox and it is huge time saver. Other things worth mentioning: Calendar View is so helpful - and lacking in other PM systems! FC's tutorials are straight forward and great for visual learners like myself. And, built in time tracking is helpful in understanding time budgeting for my diverse service offerings.
Cons:
Niche templates: I’d love more ready-made templates for specialized work (especially nonprofits). The workaround is that the community template library is extensive, genuinely helpful, and I plan to contribute as I continue building nonprofit workflows. Lack of calendar integration: A two-way sync with Google/Outlook (projects and meetings) would make the calendar truly amazing, especially during busy times. I'm hoping that is on the near horizon - fingers crossed. Template Import/Export: You can't import or export a template to work on it outside of FC. For me it means it take a bit more time to modify my existing templates and create new templates.

Reasons for choosing Financial Cents

I chose Financial Cents over other alternatives because it checks the boxes that actually impact my day-to-day operations. I can have both a centralized inbox and a personal inbox without paying extra, the calendar view gives me quick visibility into what’s due, and overall it’s cost-effective for the features I need to run my practice well. On top of that, it’s flexible enough to support diversified services, so I can manage bookkeeping work alongside client admin projects and coaching tasks in one organized system.

Reasons for switching to Financial Cents

The biggest reasons I switched from Pixie to Financial Cents were client adoption and efficiency. The no-password client portal removed my largest barrier—clients actually use it now. Month-end close is also smoother because Financial Cents brings QBO directly into the workflow, which reduces tool-hopping. Overall, I still have full control over my practice, but with fewer steps plus the added benefits of the calendar view and centralized client resources—and it feels like a more fluid interface all for roughly the same cost.

Financial Cents for a WIN!!

We use Financial Cents extensively in my CPA firm...every bookkeeper and tax preparer (we have 11 total) uses it to track time spent on each client/project and this uploads to QBO and is automatically billed to my clients each month. We use it to track progress in our projects and when one monthly bookkeeping project closes, another opens to do the next month. We can audit our contractors' time and make sure they're billing their time properly so we can pay them appropriately at month end. And we can input budgets for each project and monitor budget vs actual time spent on each detailed line of every project to see where we're taking too long or how profitable we'll be at any point, or know to notify a client if we need to go over budget for some reason, so there are no surprisingly large bills. This minimizes write-offs and disgruntled clients. I LOVE financial cents...saved my sanity so many times!

Cons:
The requirement to pay up front for 11 team members for a whole year...that's a large chunk of change!

So far it's been great! I've completed the trainings and added all my clients. I definitely feel that my practice is benefiting from a managerial perspective, and I think our clients are benefiting from the organization that the client portal provides.

I love the project management features, tags, team collaboration, month end close process, and the client portal.
Cons:
It's a big investment financially. I totally understand why it costs what it does, and it's a heavy lift for a firm of my size. Also, while I find it very easy to use, my team who is less tech savvy is struggling a little bit to implement it.

Reasons for choosing Financial Cents

I felt like Keeper was more about making sure that the bookkeepers do a good job. I trust my team's work. I just needed to be able to keep up with my side of it, so that I don't become the bottle neck. FC felt more like it had more features to help me as the firm owner.

GQueues is straight checklist type task management and we needed a proper practice management system.

Bookkeeping & Month-End Workflows. Automations. Onboarding with new Clients and engaging with them through an easy to access Client Portal. Being able to add and automate our Proposal & Contract process here as well as time-tracking staff time, invoicing and managing Client profitability all in one place is amazing!

Financial Cents has so much functionality to be an all-in-one practice management software for our Client Accounting Services company. Also the collaboration between members is amazing! Sharing workflow templates is fantastic!
Cons:
The price point is a bit high for smaller firms just getting started and it does not have the full Financial Statement connectivity yet to QBO to perform balance sheet reconciliations or general financial review.

Reasons for switching to Financial Cents

Double was limited in overall functionality, was not a true Practice Management Software and was not all that intuitive to use. No customer support. No onboarding support.

Loved the inbox feature, I think this would have helped with productivity. I loved how the clients were set up and connected and how the jobs against clients gave clarity over the workflow
Cons:
Cost. It was just too expensive for a small practice. There really wasn’t anything else I didn’t like

Ease of use and project collaboration is bar none. Task Management really puts it all in one place.
Cons:
Nothing "yet", there are a few odds and ends, for instance, email integration can not be done with shared mailed boxes, but I feel they'll get there!

Cons:
not having a monthly plan for the subscription, I wish there was a monthly subscription for those small businesses like myself that can't afford to dish out $1,600 at once

Great tool for a solo practice.

My overall experience with Financial Cents has been fantastic. As a solo practitioner, I wear every hat in the business, and I used to waste so much time chasing down documents and managing emails. Financial Cents solved that without breaking the bank. The setup was quick, and having the Solo Plan meant I didn't have to pay for seats I didn't need. The client portal is the standout feature for me—it makes me look much more professional to my clients and keeps everything secure.
