Dakota ProActivity EHS Software 2026: Benefits, Features & Pricing

Began with Dakota Scout for capturing incident and near miss data. I used it to collaborate on issues and conduct RCAs using the configurable alerts and journals. Corrective actions are created and tracked to closure in Dakota Tracer. This helped us transform our safety culture in under 3 years.

Great. Customer service was solid (they put up with me!). Design team worked hard with us and the roll out was a cake walk.

The company really tries. Sales and Tech service are very good but they have to work with the product they have and it if subpar they have to deal with that and they try. We purchased a waste module for instance and for 3 years we cold not use it because it was not set up for our company, modifications took forever and in the end they stated they did not want to change to our needs because they are trying to limit customizations which made it unusable to use because we are not set up like a large company with one person in charge of waste. therefore we paid for a product for 3 years and could not use.

Over all I find the ProActivity Suite to be a great product and have recommended it to many colleagues.

Our support team for implementation has been great. They are very knowledgeable and responsive. I used velocity in the past and the customer support wasn't as good but the program was excellent and very intuitive so rarely did we need customer support.

PHA recommendation tracking, incident investigations (environmental and safety and asset and near misses including those requiring formal Root Cause Analysis), and action item tracking from investigations and Root Cause Analysis reports.

Excellent tool. With the proper training, this is the best environmental and safety management program on the market.

Good software but some days, very frustrating. Not sure what the problem is but there are times when the system responds quickly and other times where it takes 5-10 seconds (or longer) to update. This may not sound like a long time, but when you are in the middle of an audit and have 100's of questions to answer, this adds up. Also, occasionally, the system goes unresponsive.

This review is one person’s opinion. The author has over 30 years of hands on practical experience with environmental compliance programs. He was also the Northrup Grumman lead system analyst for Air and Hazardous Waste modules for the development and rollout of the US Air Force’s EESOH-MS compliance program. ProActivity Suite is a robust compliance tool that appears to provide the user with the latest in compliance requirements as they hit the Federal Register. But from a first time user’s point it is not a very user-friendly system to set up, is not out of the box a EMS, and does not appear very well suited for the smaller user with the smaller budgets. The company sale’s representatives are very knowledgeable and good at selling the system. As in all good sale’s presentations there is the showing of the shinny exterior whiz-bangs, but there is no ‘test’ driving allowed. There is no basis for the company reason of no ‘test’ driving due to protection of ‘proprietary information’. There is a user’s requirement questionnaire you fill out in advance that is supposed to help the sales/technical staff recommend solutions. The ‘Dream’ system is then presented which is the Cadillac. You will then be quoted a price, which will most likely be higher than expected, which will bring a ‘base-price’ for the Chevrolet without options. Of course this means all the items you really need and were sold on in the sales pitch are additional add-on costs, not mentioned in the newly
