Training occurs in a live webinar setting so you are not simply trying to find your way through a manual with no help. Each new school is assigned a personal trainer who will guide you through the setup and training process at your pace.

Pros:

How it simplifies the school administration. The students info is easy to put into the system as well as entering all the classes.

Cons:

As of right now there is no way that I have learned to put our school logo, but I may not have been told how to do that yet.

"School in a Box"

Reps from Praxi are helpful and professional. They know their system well (obviously) and are able to provide support whenever we need help.

Pros:

PraxiSchool is truly a school in a box. All of the features and support truly are worth the money. There is a bit of a learning curve in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, you won't forget it. I enjoy learning new tricks as I become more acquainted with the system. My school families are also loving it!

Cons:

The learning curve in the beginning was a bit stressful considering we were transitioning from a different company and had gotten used to their system.

Reasons for switching to PraxiSchool

They were increasing their price and we were not satisfied with the reasoning for the increase. Praxi is cheaper and they have way more features and products than ClassReach.

Pros:

It reminded me of software I worked with in the late 90's, except that everyone got their own login and could access the software from any computer with internet access.

Cons:

We cancelled after 5 months. It seems like this software is on a dying, almost obsolete platform and the interface is obtuse at best. After our first on-boarding call, several email containing questions were met with zero answers. Calls were met with techs that didn't know how to navigate the software. The only person who knew enough about the software was our tech, and she was so busy with other clients it was hard getting and maintaining her undivided attention. It always felt like she was on the other line with another client during our calls or chatting online with several people at once. During our calls she explained to us her frustrations with other clients and lamented the fact that she never gets any rest since she's the only one there who knows enough to help anyone. I'd be scared to approach this company until they seriously overhaul their software interface or at the very least train more staff to support their current client base.

Our School is a PRAXI School!

We are very pleased! So glad we made the switch!! We always have access to help when we need it and they're always so kind!

Pros:

We use PRAXI for Student information management system, to provide Student and Teacher Management, and School management like billing. We love the value for the money, and security it offers for the families and the learning curve is a breeze.

Cons:

We have to create separate forms for registration based on the circumstance (new vs. returning) and age group to be able to show the fee structure for each. Not the end of the world and now that they're created, I'm able to simply modify if there are changes for each year.

Reasons for switching to PraxiSchool

New principal had a great experience with PRAXI and the cost for TADS was much higher.

Customer Service is top-notch!

It's affordable for the needs of our small private school! It took some time to get the hang of finding everything I wanted to do, and several tutorials with customer service, but now I can navigate with ease.

Customer Service is top-notch at PraxiSchool! This student information system is an all in one system. Accounting, Attendance, Incidents, Grades, Billing, Text Messaging (optional service), and more at an affordable price!

Cons:

It took a while to get used to the system as a whole. With so many functions, it's hard to be proficient in every area. They have a video and a written "How to" library where you can search for help. If it isn't there, customer service is only a few clicks away. Their staff is knowledgeable in the system, and if they can't immediately help, they will have someone get back to you with a solution.

[sensitive content hidden] is what makes Praxi!!!!

The transition was tough. I thought the integration would have been smoother but [sensitive content hidden] jumped in and we scheduled daily - literally through the entire summer sessions teaching me. I would be given loading tasks and we would meet the next day. My entire summer consumed with this.

[sensitive content hidden]! Quite literally. I would not have survived this year without [sensitive content hidden]'s help. A new system. Instructor and parents not happy about the platform change but [sensitive content hidden] was there for us all. She made Praxi work for us.

Cons:

As an administrator, I stay out of the classroom edits, etc. I think you would have to ask my instructors on that specifically. I can do mass emails which gets my Monday updates out and find students, etc. and then I have to be free to run the school face to face.

Was no longer getting the support I needed. Had been with Study Place for 20 years. Sorry the above selection was selected because Study Place was not in the drop down

My overall experience with PraxiSchool has been great. It would not have been as good if it wasn't for the tremendous knowledge and support from our Contact [sensitive content hidden]. There has been so much building behind the scenes to make Praxi to fit our school and she has done an amazing job with all of it.

We have found that we do like having the student management and the Financial Piece on the same platform. We have recently started using the school store and the register function and it has been helpful for these 2 projects that we are having.

Cons:

It is not as user friendly as other school platforms. There are multi steps to get information entered and then for reporting. If it were not for the support team it would be hard to get all the steps correct. I also think the App needs to be improved. Parents should be able to do everything on the App that can be accessed through a web browser.

The support aspect and that it had everything we were looking for in student management and the Financial management w/ HR and Payroll.

Reasons for switching to PraxiSchool

The system was ending and phasing out. So we had to make a switch.

Grateful for Praxi - safeguards our data, provides important record keeping

We love that Praxi is a closed system which protects our students and families information here in the US. Praxi provides more features than we could possibly need in one system.

Cons:

We find that Praxi is not always intuitive and can be challenging to navigate. The learning curve is still going and we are several years in. It could be that part of our issue is that we are a part-time program and do not have a full-time person dedicated only to Praxi, as larger schools may have. For example, we do not have a dedicated accountant or experienced book keeper, as most institutions would. Thus it takes us longer to move through understanding certain aspects and the "why" behind them. It seems it takes a bit more technical knowledge of accounting to be able to use Praxi effectively - leaning back into the idea that Praxi could become more user friendly. The look of Praxi is a bit outdated and could use a facelift to be a bit more appealing to users.

Reasons for choosing PraxiSchool

Our understand is that Praxi is a closed-system held in the US and Christian-owned and operated. Other products, while cheap or free, might be storing our student/family data in other countries and using it for other purposes.

Praxi Integration Is The Best.

I came into this job without any experience in Praxi. I am the Senior Accountant now, and I have always been tech savvy. I have set up several accounting systems for clients in the past using many different accounting software's. I most recently worked for another Christian school that used 3 different software products. They used one for billing & collections, One for student/parent & teacher for grades, discipline, assignments, and one for AP, Financial Statements, and General Ledger. None of which were integrated with each other.

I really like how every department is integrated with each other. I also am extremely happy with the support personnel who have helped us along the way. I never have to feel like I am flying solo. Also, since we have switched to Heartland for payment processing AR runs smoother, collections come in faster and fees have been reduced greatly. All of this makes cash flow better for us.

Cons:

I wish there were more options for customization of the financial statements.

The switch took place before I came on board but from what I have gathered the finance portion and the school/teacher portion did not integrate well,

Praxischool is a powerful student information system that serves as a one-stop shop for everything our school needs. We use it to manage attendance, library resources, donor records, general payables and receivables, enrollment, after-school classes, school lunches, and registration—all in one convenient platform.

Cons:

There is a steep learning curve when it comes to using Praxischool. Mastering all aspects of the platform has required many hours of dedicated training.
