Strong Network delivers a self-hosted platform that allows organizations to manage the first secure Cloud Development Environments (CDEs). They use secure CDEs to provide access to their developers to ready-to-code linux development environments with native data security.

Best Secured Cloud Development Environment

Best software for SelfHosting Secure CDE. Great Support from Strong Network Team. Ease of setup and maintenance.

Pros:

Best Cloud IDE interms of the advanced security features, ease of setup and maintenance. Some of the stand out features that we observed are workspaces sharing, auto installation of extensions, template definitions, default folder, pre and post startup scripts. With Strong Network, Development environment can be spun up in few seconds including the configuration that makes the workspace ready to use without much effort from individual developer/user. Many Pro's compared to Virtual Desktops and a life saver. The Best Part - All that the Developer/User needs is just a Browser. Enables quick onboarding of the Developers/users onto the environment. New Features requests are handled with super quick turn around. Great Technical support. To the best of my knowledge, only Strong Network is the only CDE that supports Self Hosting Capability in today's market. This capability helped us to host Strong Network in house.

Cons:

Honestly, we cannot think of Cons. Strong Network continues to evolve to be the best with new releases and features.

Reasons for switching to Strong Network

Self Hosting capability of Secure Cloud Development environment which only Strong Network can provide in today's market to the best of our knowledge. Also, the advanced security features to protect the source code and sensitive data. The ease of setup and maintenance.

Strong Network helps Sirius to strengthen our security without changing our development flow

Pros:

easy to use cloud IDE that has advanced security features to protect the source code and sensitive data in Sirius, we do not issue standard laptop, we pay people allowance to the their own preferred hardware. We also do not want to intrude people's privacy to install agents to monitor the laptop since it's employees' property. So, Strong Network makes this possible without compromising security policies.

Cons:

the utilization of infra resource can be optimized and more stable when workload is higher you can always compensate this by allocating more infra resources

Best Software of Selfhosting Secure CDE

Workload is higher you can always compaensate this by allocating more infra resources, improvement , improvement to security while respecting employee privacy and hardware preferences.

Easy to setup, easy to onboard people, wide range of customization. New developers can now be onboarded on our projects within minutes.

Cons:

It initially didn't support running test clusters inside the workspace, this is now fixed thanks to the great team!

Cons:

Pros:

Best part about Strong Network is, to prevent leaks, like insider threats, a secure Cloud Development Environment (CDE) platform gathers all resources in one place, such as IDEs and web apps. It boosts security and developer experience. It might link with virtual desktops or enterprise browsers, needing careful tech choices to balance productivity and security.

Cons:

Automating IDE plugins which they are working on it.

Dear Kumar, regarding the IDE plugin, we extended our workspace template to handle the automation of plugin installation from the marketplace in addiition to plugins that would have to be manually installed via an URL. You can now also include the plugins in the container definition immediately and enjoy automated installation.
