About RoomSketcher

RoomSketcher is a cloud-based home design & floor plan drafting tool for Mac, Windows, and iPad users. Available in English, Danish, German, Norwegian, and Swedish, this tool is geared toward real estate, interior design, property development, and management professionals. It’s used by tech-savvy homeowners and makers or sellers of furniture, fixtures, and fittings.

RoomSketcher lets users draw floor plans themselves, or they can rely on the developer’s white-glove service instead. The tool can produce crisp 2D floor plans in black and white, featuring built-in measurements and the option to upload blueprints to use as templates.

Users can also opt for 3D floor plans with branding, disclaimers, and texture variations for home design and remodeling projects. To showcase real estate projects, show homes, and furniture layouts, they can also add 3D photos, simulations, and virtual walkthroughs. It helps investors, planning officers, and homebuyers visualize the space.

Easy as 1,2,3 and customer service support all in one program!

Very positive! The program is very approachable with very little learning curve involved. Added with the ease of scheduling 1:1 training call makes this program a home run!

Pros:

The ease of learning a new program so quickly. The customer support with access to 1:1 video training calls, the in program training videos. The 2D/3D modeling make it very easy to communicate with clients efficiently.

Cons:

The furniture options are very pedestrian. Also, adding a mood board option to the program would be an added benefit. Being able to use actual products for the mood board with color palettes is impactful for clients. If I could add the actual table or chair from Crate and Barrel to a mood board would be preferred.

Reasons for switching to RoomSketcher

Houzz doesn't offer any 1:1 support and the training videos they have are lacking a lot of information. It takes them a minimum of 48 hours to return an email or call. Plus it's very expensive.

A Great Product for Interior Designers

Having tried a few other products. I have found Roomsketcher tote uncomplicated, the support impeccable and the fact that I can produce floor plans quickly has massively helped productivity.

Pros:

I very much like the simplicity of RoomSketchers, functionality. For the price, compared with other products I believe that RoomSketcher is excellent value for Money. The training and customer and client support, in my experience is impeccable. I am comfortable with the fact that although this is an online product, I have no issues with its security. Both the design and construction functions along with 3D modelling are especially beneficial to me in my day to day work.

Cons:

There were some minor aspects, such as being able to group to together lines and rooms which would have been helpful. Similarly I would like to be able to upload a client chosen piece of furniture or wallpaper sample etc. But on the whole I have found that Roomsketcher meets my needs.

Its simplicity. Being able to understand the training videos and execute the necessary activity.

Good customer support

Overall I am satisfied with the product considering what the cost is. There are certainly more robust solutions, but for a relatively polished model to show customers it works for what I need for now.

Pros:

It's a fairly intuitive software and can be useful in sharing and collaborating with clients on ideas. I had issues with the sharing feature and the customer service team helped resolve it in about one business day.

Cons:

The inability to view the 3D models on a mobile device is a definite down side. Some of the "snap in place" movement that the platform does when moving components around a model don't "snap" to where you'd actually want something, which then takes a lot more time to find a work around to place things where you actually want them. I also don't care for the credit system of sharing models. After paying the annual fee you have to pay more to be able to share models. Everyone HATES to be nickel and dimed. I already paid, don't make me hate it.

Easy-to-Use Design Tool with Clean, Client-Ready Sketches

Overall, I would recommend RoomSketcher to kitchen cabinet companies. While I could use more advanced software with greater customization for the annual cost, the easy-to-use platform and responsive customer support keep me happy.

I love RoomSketcher’s easy-to-use interface and the clean design concept sketches I can share with my customers.

Cons:

Limited customization. For example, customers love seeing handles on their kitchen cabinets, and unless I manually place a block on each door, that isn’t an option.

Reasons for choosing RoomSketcher

Ease of use and initial price point, but with our current workload, the cost is now comparable to more advanced options.

Great Sales Tool! Paind for Itself for the whole year with one job!

Very easy to navigate, great catalogues, efficient, great sales tool. Saved me a great deal of time in trying to verbalize what my plans were for the basement project. I am now working on 2 other jobs to secure them!

Pros:

We signed up for the Pro Account to try to secure a basement renovation, from drawing to the award of the job - it took 3 days - and the client was out of town. They could see our vision through a quick design and we easily paid for the program with this one job. We found no issues with the program and actually found that it was a lot easier to navigate than some of the other programs on the market. I loved the 3D Modelling it offers!

Cons:

The credit charges can add up a little, but I still see value making the benefit outweigh the cost. As a sales tool - the benefit is invaluable.

Cost and Ease of use seemed to be more beneficial for us.

Fun and Easy to Use Floorplan tool

Its easy to use. You can quickly move walls, change flooring, swap out furniture, and experiment with different layouts without any hassle. And the finished product looks great!

Pros:

I’ve really enjoyed using RoomSketcher for planning and visualizing spaces. It’s incredibly easy to use, even if you’re not a designer. You can quickly move walls, change flooring, swap out furniture, and experiment with different layouts without any hassle. One of the best features is the 3D view, which lets you see exactly how everything will look in a realistic way before making any real-life changes. It makes redesigning a room (or an entire house) simple, fun, and stress-free. I really like the speed of the responses that i get when i require customer support.

Cons:

I would like the ability to change the font color of the room names in case they are on a dark background.

Reasons for switching to RoomSketcher

Easier to make the changes myself instead of trying to communicate my changes.

Excellect choice

I love this software, years beyond my previous software used. Best software at a low price. I would recommend this to anyone.

The blueprint upload option is my most used. I love that I can upload a print and overlay everything I need to in order to complete my project.

Cons:

There is not enough selection of items to place inside the drawing for the decorations, appliances, kitchens and baths

Too many limits in Smartdraw. There is only access to build your own or use their premade layout

Cons:

What’s not to like? I dont find anything to dislike. If I have to name one thing, it would be nicer if it was free…

RoomSketcher is a game changer

I am very happy with Room sketcher. It allows me to do drawings and layouts without having to send them out to be done.

Its very User friendly particularly for a beginner. I loved the tutorial videos that walked me throught the process step by step.

Cons:

I find that adding text is time consuming and not easy. I wish we could add text in blocks/paragraphs.
