About Cosmos

Cosmos is the first and only cloud-based reporting and business analytics solution built specifically for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central cloud. Fully supported by Microsoft Azure, Cosmos provides a unified, intuitive platform to easily create and modify reports inside Excel, edit data models, manage users, and share information – all without needing technical expertise or familiarity with the underlying data structure.

Pros:

I like Cosmos for the ease of use of creating reports for Business Central. I also like that it is cloud based. This makes it easy to work from anywhere.

Cons:

I don't like that I can't automate running of the pipeline more than 4 times a day. We run many reports manually and sometimes we have to wait until the pipeline runs before we get current information.

Reasons for switching to Cosmos

We think Cosmos is ease to use and is cloud based. We use Business Central SaaS so this is important.

Excellent value for money with robust features. Extremely easy to implement and use. Smooth and efficient admin management for users and settings. Outstanding customer support - responsive, helpful, and knowledgeable. Reliable and consistent performance.

Cons:

Honestly, we haven’t encountered any real downsides so far - no significant cons come to mind, as Cosmos has consistently met or exceeded our expectations in every area.

Reasons for switching to Cosmos

We switched from Jet Reports to Cosmos because Jet had become outdated and wasn’t as user-friendly as we needed. Generating reports with Jet often took hours, which slowed down our workflow. With Cosmos, the difference was immediate - reports that once took hours now run in just minutes. The platform is modern, intuitive, and much easier to navigate, making our reporting process faster, more efficient, and far less frustrating.

A New User’s Journey Through the Cosmos

I am still in the early stages of training (new to BC and Cosmos), but I already feel very encouraged by the experience. The training videos are well-structured and easy to follow, which has made the learning process much more manageable. Even while taking baby steps, I feel confident that I will be fully up and running in no time.

Pros:

Cosmos offers impressive capabilities, with a strong library of prebuilt reports. Watching the Cosmos team navigate and build within the platform gives me a lot of confidence.

Cons:

My biggest disappointment would be the learning curve. This is not just Cosmos but internally as well. We didn't just add Cosmos, we were integrating BC as well. Cosmos provided us with exceptional support, but we were not on the same level. I feel the trainer's skill and maneuverability in they system, didn't match ours so a lot of information was lost. Our trainer would have been best for Intermediate or Advanced training.

Pros:

Cosmos has been a game-changer for our data management and reporting needs after being with Jet for years. The platform is incredibly intuitive—within just a few hours, I was able to make data management changes and build custom reports and dashboards with ease. The setup process was seamless, and the learning curve was surprisingly minimal. What truly sets Cosmos apart is their outstanding customer support. Anytime I have a question or run into an issue, their team responds quickly and thoroughly, ensuring I’m never delayed in accessing the reports I need. They also provide clear, detailed guidance that helps me get the most out of the system.

Cons:

I was initially hesitant about the additional fee for the white glove onboarding service, wondering if it was truly necessary—but I’m so glad I went for it. The value far exceeded the cost; it was easily worth ten times the price. The personalized support and hands-on guidance made the entire onboarding process smooth, efficient, and incredibly effective. I’d highly recommend it to anyone getting started with Cosmos.

Great product and Great Support, the kind where you speak to a human. training video are short and well paced. Cosmos keeps going with user input. Low barrier(cost) to set up and use

Cons:

Not using it sooner. Small issues like auto column width is being addressed. I don't have any serious cons

My Cosmos Review

Cosmos is easy to use and works perfectly with D365 or MSBC. I love the customer support and video trainings. Totally recommend this software.

Unbelieveable customer Support and quick report geneartion. Also there are many training videos which are short but very productive.

An excellent software to pair with Business Central: COSMOS

I have had an amazing experience with Cosmos. It has provided me with a big boost to the amount of operational efficiency in my day-to-day operations and has allowed for deeper, more meaningful insights to be made.

Pros:

Cosmos' ability to seamlessly pull data in from BC into standardized and customizable excel reports is a massive time saver. Additionally, its very easy to use and can improve efficiency immensely. Its ability to schedule reports and have them run on any interval basis of your choice is also very helpful too.

Cons:

Cosmos still has some small bugs and operational issues with their software. It is nothing major but still has some hiccups at times. Also, updating data to ensure the most recent sync with BC can be a hassle at times as well.

Always helpful, even with crazy situations

Still learning program, reports easy to generate, data matches the data in BC, had to get a company to write reports for us due to amount of data but reports are easy to run once created

Clean way to view financial reports, customer support always goes above and beyond to help with any issues that arise

Cons:

Only hard part is writing of the reports since BC has so many tables, but if you get a partner that is familiar with report writing no issues

Pros:

Customer support is great and very helpful. The reporting tools are intuitive and easy to learn. There are also great videos on their website that explain most of the tools.

Cons:

New UI makes looking up field IDs complicated. There is not a lot of videos of how the data model works. Also, it would be helpful if there was in depth coverage of creating relationships and mappings.
