SAP BusinessObjects is a business intelligence solution designed for companies of all sizes. It offers ETL (extract, transform, load), predictive dashboard, Crystal reports, OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) and ad-hoc reporting functionalities within a suite. The product is available both in cloud-based and on-premise deployment options and caters to multiple industry segments, such as government, manufacturing and distribution, financial services and nonprofits.

SAP BusinessObjects allows users to integrate with external systems, such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office and combine data from these for executing business analytics and reporting functions. The product also features drag-and-drop interface, which allows users to customize reports using required parameters.

SAP BusinessObjects offers multidimensional data analysis, where users can create reports on multiple business parameters from disparate data sources. The product also offers a mobile app compatible with both iOS and Android devices.

SAP offers online portal, email, phone and Twitter-based support to the customers.

Big brain in your pocket

Overall we found SAP to be an amazing product and the customer service is helpful and kind no matter what kind of questions are asked.

Pros:

We enjoyed using SAP Business because so far it is the only software that we have found that allows us to put together decent, attractive and factual data reports easily and that can analyze data as well. SAP Business has also helped us alot to identify weak spots in our marketing with its amazing analysis tools, it helps us fill in the gaps to stay on top of all the new upcoming trends on the market for our industry. It can be shared shared among us no matter where we are so that we can all work on the same data as a team. We enjoyed using SAP Business because it has the capability to process a large amount of data quickly and helps us put that data into visual graphs that are able to show us real time data that has been analyzed. It can be easily intergrated with Microsoft office as we use power point for alot of our presentations, it allows us the ability to export from PowerPoint to SAP. It easily intergrates with other SAP platforms for more extra functions. It has been great for day to day use and has made us look more professional with their creative interactive graphs and self service capabilities.

Cons:

What we least like about SAP is that it can not be used by just anyone a bit of computer literacy is needed as some functions and instructions are a bit hard to understand with out some computer literacy.

I LIKE ABOUT SAP IS THAT ALL THE COMPANY NEEDS IS ALREADY HAVE.

Cons:

for me its the invoice printing you need to create other tools for the template.

Pros:

This product give us the ability to pull reports with ease. Once you have successfully composed a report, you are able to build on the structure as needed.

Cons:

Sometimes finding a field can be difficult if you are not sure what exactly you are looking for. With time, this gets easier.

Amazing with proper training

It would be unfair for me to say it was bad. Like I mentioned before we were not trained to use the software correctly.

Honestly, SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence could have been a game-changer at my job if two things were done differently. First, we didn’t get the proper training upfront. I’m talking about actually going through the certification on the SAP website—not just a quick overview. I had to take it upon myself to get trained, and once I did, I saw how powerful the software really is. Second, I think we should have invested more in the software itself. Without the right setup and features, it felt like we weren’t getting the full experience. If we had done those two things from the start—proper training and better investment—it would have made a world of difference.

Cons:

One thing I really don’t like about SAP BusinessObjects is that if someone accidentally deletes a line, it’s pretty much gone for good. SAP IT services can’t retrieve it—it’s just stuck in the system forever. That’s a huge issue, especially when mistakes happen. I can’t fully blame the software, though, because proper training could have helped prevent situations like that. It just goes to show how important it is to make sure everyone knows how to use the system correctly from the start.

Fast, efficient service for large data sources

I have only 6 months of experience using this application, but I have no strong issues with its functionality or appearance. I believe it could benefit from a updated layout/structure as it is very dated, and and update could make it more user-friendly for its consumers. It works well, and I have not experienced any crashes or long delays in data retrieval, which is a great plus to the software as it holds a large magnitude of company data.

I appreciated the fast service within the application given the amount of data it holds, across multiple servers. It is relatively user-friendly; I used the application for the first time 6 months ago and had little issue navigating the multiple windows and data sources within the software.

Cons:

The application is relatively older and the appearance of it displays its age easily. A more user-friendly and consumer-appealing layout would make the application easier to navigate for first-time users.

SAP BO - the ultimate Reporting Platform

SAP BO has provided the most user-friendly and also complex reporting system that is available. Being a daily user, I find that the system is easy to understand and allows the user a certain level of creativity. I also appreciate that SAP maintains up-to-date changes for new data connections and patches for correcting known issues.

SAP BO provides a vast array of capabilities for using data across our companies' systems and provides expansive tools to process and display our data. SAP BO allows us to use large amounts of data across multiple instances (such as EWM, S4, etc.) and consume the data quickly and easily. It also allows for many different reporting designs, formats, and use cases for our reporting needs

Cons:

SAP BO is a complex system that sometimes requires knowledge of the schema integration in order to solve issues. This does not allow for everyday users that are not power users to self-service issues and can lead to a developer backlog. Also, our company has run into issues that were only able to be solved by SAP and there was a large lead time in waiting for a solution.

Easy and Convenient

It's easy and fun to drag and drop columns, but as I mentioned above, the Informatin Design Tool application is a bit slow. I recommend Sap Bo in general.

Not the best software for inventory tracking

I have extensive experience with SAP through my job currently and have found it somewhat cumbersome

SAP is good for basic inventory tracking and issuing goods etc.

Cons:

The user interface is very poor and outdated, even just to print a screen of an inventory list you have to open a separate window rather than print from that page.
