About VMware Cloud Director

VMware vCloud Director (VCD) is an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) that helps cloud provider businesses operate and manage successful cloud-service businesses. vCloud Director enables users to derive maximum efficiency from their cloud infrastructure by provisioning and creating differentiated and value-added cloud services. vCloud Director is available globally through the VMware Cloud Provider Program.

vCloud Director allows businesses to utilize a hyperscale class cloud platform in a cloud provider’s datacenter. It is an automated solution that is extremely operationally efficient, and scale-tested for global cloud environments. It lets cloud providers utilize the platform to level-up from Iaas to a portfolio of cloud services,
vCloud Director enables team members to manage apps, virtual machines, and containers from within a unified platform. vCD offers several ways to code and extend its functions in a developer environment

    Generally i can say that this is an awesome product, does what is required of it and after every update comes great features for both a service provider and end customers

    Ease of use- The software is very intuitive compared to other solutions that i have used to manage multi tenanted customersIntegration- It can be easily integrated with other 3rd party tools offering value to customersCustomization- with white labelling , one can easily have resellers as well as giving a cloud customer that look and feel of their organization with their corporate colors and logos
    Cons:
    Complex to set up- Even though there have been leaps and bounds in making the installation and configuration easy, i believe more can be done to make it easier to do soSSL renewal - This is a process that needs to be worked on urgently. It should not take thirty minutes plus to renew a certificate

    Was good, but could be better. We have some issues where our VMs failed, and it impacts our business.

    By the time I use it, was the begining of cloud services, so functionalities were limited, I supposed they have enrich their platform.
    Cons:
    The access I had was very limited, because the majority of the features were managed by our provider
