About GageList

GageList is a cloud-based calibration management solution that allows business to maintain gages and tool calibrations. GageList is able to support compliance for 21 CFR Parts 11 and 820, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, AS 9100, API Q1 and other standards.

With cloud functionality, companies can centralizes all gage and calibration records enabling users to access and edit this data for off-site locations. Users can view all active and inactive gages, scheduled calibrations and overdue calibrations, gage inventory, and account assignees from just a single dashboard. Pre-made templates allows users to add or edit gages in just a matter of minutes. GageList also provides an automatic email notification system to keep designated users updated on upcoming or over due calibrations.

For data management, GageList allows users to import and export data on gages, calibrations, or software settings via csv or xls. This solution also offers a Data Migration service for business that require dedicated assistance with transferring large amounts of data from legacy systems.

Pros:

Calibration shouldn't be difficult to track and maintain. Gagelist is cost-effective, easy to use, and makes calibration less of a hassle; it's calibration software designed for the modern world.

Cons:

The language is a bit different than what I am used to (i.e. control no. as opposed to serial no.), but not to the point that it deterred me from switching.

Reasons for switching to GageList

Gagepack became too costly, especially to add additional users. I needed a software that was easy to train other employees and a way to access my calibration schedule easily.

Small Machine & Manufacturing Shop Review

Gagelists gives us a much cleaner simple gage management program. It also allows us to have multiple people have access from their own computer, or phone. There is no more need for a single computer or station to have all of this data. Using an online server gives us a much faster program, and being able to create templates instills a sense of consistency when doing reports.

Pros:

Easy, clean and simple lay out makes it very quick to find or search for what you need, and to print reports for audits or reviews. The app makes this a game changer as far as ease of use and utility. Being able to look up a gage on the factory floor, and being able to ensure it's calibration status gives us very quick assurance.

Cons:

I wish I could remove the options in the gage descriptions we do not as a company want to use, such as specific manufactures, Aquisition dates, cost, ect. It would be nice to able to customize and make the information screen smaller and quicker, and it would help prevent issues of people putting incorrect information into different tabs.

Reasons for switching to GageList

Out of date program, it would be more expensive to buy a new license, and then need to buy a new computer for the license to be kept in a central location for all who use it, when it was much less expensive and met many more of the items on our wishlist to switch to gagelist.

Intuitive and easy to use

Managing the data for all our measuring devices as per ISO requirements and the monthly reports are great as a reminder to know when there are gauges than need to get calibrated ahead of time. For our company, managing the calibration records was a new thing. It was very easy to jump into GageList and just plug and play all the information needed.

Pros:

The interface is clean, simple and clear. There are enough places to enter more data then we need ourselves but could satisfy the needs of other companies. It is customizable to be applied to many industries. Works great to manage data and gets reports for our QMS.

Cons:

In the beginning, there were not many tiers for pricing. For us being a smaller company the different pricing options are much better.

Changed from GagePack to Gagelist.

Our overall experience has been positive. the ease of access from any computer is a huge advantage. Changing over did take some time, but once all the gages were entered, we actually had an accurate log of the devices we have.

Pros:

We were able to switch from using Gage Pack, which is much more expensive and even more so if you need multiple seats. With Gage list, we are able to have multiple users, and we only pay for what we use. I love that your pricing is based off the number of gages we have instead of having to pay a very expensive fee regardless if we have 10 gages or 1000. We saved quite a bit of money for our company by changing over to Gagelist. One of the biggest pros about Gagelist is that I can access it from any computer. With Gage pack, you have to be on the computer where the software is loaded. Since Gage list is web based, i can access it from home. If I have to miss a day of work, I can still access our gages and contact employees who need to perform calibrations.

Cons:

I have no quite figured out how to send email notifications when gages are coming due. I still have to evaluate the calibrations coming due soon, then email the pertinent people to get those calibrations done. I believe the function is there, but i have not been able to receive an email about coming due gages, or past due gages.

Reasons for switching to GageList

Pricing, ease of access, plus we have hundreds of gages in GageList that were not set up correctly. That program is more difficult to use, and without training, its hard to utilize all of the features. Once we began the free trial, we quickly realized that GageList did everything we needed it to do, and it was alot easier to do the things we needed as well.

We love Gagelist

We have enjoyed using GageList and all the features it provides for such a low cost of ownership. The ROI is exponential compared to the manual database system we were using before.

The ease of use and cross-platform functionality between devices. The ease of using it on the floor with a phone or tablet.

Cons:

We have not encountered a con of the system besides it being cloud-based and being an annual subscription which is more of a preference than a con.

Pros:

When comparing with other Calibration Management Systems, I liked the pricing, cloud-based storage, and ability to be utilized by multiple personnel.

Cons:

At this point I haven't really found any major problems with the software. There are things that could flow a little easier, or be more instinctual to access.

Very easy to use and simple to set up. Unlimited users with access to the database on mobile as well. Completely customizable. We have reported 2 bugs and both times have been fixed in under an hour.

Cons:

Still needs a check in/out function, but I hear they are working on it.

Reasons for choosing GageList

Gagelist is a more simple solution and was more cost effective.

Reasons for switching to GageList

GageManager took too long to find the gage you needed. With gagelist, we can find any gage in under 10 seconds.

Great Software

I like it's ease of use. I was able to navigate and perform tasks as soon as I logged in for the first time.

Cons:

When I try to back up to a previous screen (like from the "Active Gage" list back to the dashboard), it takes me to a completely different page. Easier put, the back button on the browser doesn't go back to the previous page. It's not a huge deal, just an observation.

Reasons for switching to GageList

Gagetrak was difficult to use. Only one person had access. Program would go unresponsive often.

GageList for tracking gages for calibration

GageList has made it far easier to track our gages and assigned locations. We are happy with the software.

Pros:

Tracking calibrated tools in GageList is a simple way to set automatic alerts each year. We are not a calibrator, but we track a few hundred gages for our lab.

Cons:

Initially, there were some features that needed to be added to work efficiently, but as time has progressed, those features were added, and work well.

Reasons for choosing GageList

Simple user interface, helpful assistance, free trial, low bar of entry, seemed geared for user/technician, which was appealing, since we are not a cal lab (might still be useful for a lab).

For the Money Gagelist is the answer

Our company has been in business for over 100 years with multiple manufacturing facilities, and more recently been under IS 9001 certification for 15 years. In that time because each facility "managed" their asset calibrations as they saw fit, there were gaps and nonconformance's in calibration documentation found in nearly every surveillance audit conducted. As a result, we recently employed Gagelist to our manufacturing sites so every facility has a central location to store asset calibration data.

Pros:

Product is easy to use, whether navigating in general, or setting up/loading gages. The software also has custom settings offerings so you can tailor the look to your business.

Cons:

Mass uploads of gages is a bit cumbersome at first, however, the technical support offered by Gagelist helped us get past that very quickly.

Reasons for choosing GageList

We chose Gagelist because of the ease of use of the product, as well as it being web/cloud based. We liked the idea of not purchasing canned software that would need to be installed on multiple PC's.
