A fantastic time saving piece of software

IT emit has made a very tedious task a breeze to do. You can quickly add and tag new assets to your register using the app, and add new information in a flash. Gone are the days of huge excel files, everything is in one app, search and update in seconds. Fantastic!

Pros:

Instantly add photo's to your assets. Track your assets using QR codes and see their location on a map. Extract data in CSV format. Ability to add own tags in app.

Cons:

Would be nice if the app supported the new iPhone X resolutions and also to be designed for iPads!

Does the job and does it well

I am happy with the product and it is well priced for the value. It's flexible enough to grow with our company and works equally well for small and large ventures.

The software is very self explanatory and common sense. It's easy to learn. It's easy to enter inventory and manage items.

Cons:

Search function is limited as such, best way to filter and search is via reports and setting up the filters to get the right information is a bit of a challenge.

Reasons for choosing itemit

Itemit was easier to use and more suited to our needs. It was also priced more appropriately.

A great simple solution that fits our needs

ItemIt has solved a long standing issue of knowing where our equipment is and de-conflicting equipment needed between multiple projects and users. In a newly remote working environment it has also allowed us to easily and effectively keep track of sometimes expensive equipment that is being used at remote locations and peoples homes.

ItemIt matched our use case of managing and tracking equipment in an R&D lab setting where changing project requirements and an innovation led environment meant we needed a system that could keep up and be flexible enough to meet these demands. The ability to link QR codes to both locations and items coupled with the mobile app means asset tracking in our lab has become simple and beneficial to our 40+ engineers and all equipment is now tracked effectively by individuals.

Cons:

We would like to see improvements to reporting so we can more easily do periodic audits, we would also like to be able to assign more fine grained permissions to users so that we can empower our engineers to take an even greater ownership of the lab and assets.

Reasons for choosing itemit

ItemIt had a greater focus on locating and tracking items. Other products we evaluated were more focused towards IT asset assignment in an office environment or warehouse stock tracking. ItemIt matched out use case perfectly.

Not perfect but best asset management I have seen so far

Overall works so much better than the two systems I have tested so far, we can now track all our organization assets such as smartphones, laptops, camping equipment, etc Easier to manage asset movements from one employee to another and track asset history.

Can be used both on the web and mobile App, makes it easy to use in any platform; very reasonable pricing; custom fields can be added per item, makes it easier to add item specifications and sometimes accessories; Supports asset tagging with barcodes and QR codes, makes it easy to quickly scan-to-identify an item; the best, quick customer support every time we had a problem; Asset check-in and check-out functionality; asset issue reporting and issue tracking;

Cons:

You can't persist custom fields for future added items, you have to recreate every time you add; Asset list UI can be improved to include asset thumbnails; The mobile app offline experience does not consistently work; Developers should consider adding a refresh feature while online to refresh data and pull new assets.

itemit offered the features we wanted at reasonable pricing, offered a reasonable discount, and had a very supportive customer care.

Reasons for switching to itemit

Terrible customer service, a hybrid web app (not native) which does not work offline and very expensive pricing structure.

Pros:

I like how it simplifies asset management with features like QR code and RFID tagging, cloud-based tracking, and an easy-to-use interface. It’s great for businesses that need real-time asset visibility without complicated setups.

Cons:

Paying per user has limited our use of the system. I have had to share log in accounts between my team which clouds the paper trail when looking at the history on items. i.e who made certain changes, assignments etc. Appreciate this is a me problem and would not be the case if we had paid log ins for each user.

Five star product and support

We have not had a straightforward requirement due to the complex process of implementing changes to our systems. The [sensitive content hidden] and the rest of the ItemIt team have been incredibly knowledgeable and supportive and really going the extra mile to find a solution for us and demonstrate that it works.

Cons:

Initially there was no way to mute a very loud beeping sound from the scanner during scans which was becoming a distraction to other staff. I really appreciate that this was resolved for us with a new feature introduction following my feedback.

Cost effective asset management system

We use the system to track tools and assets across our organisation, we have seen a down turn in loss and damage and less time is wasted looking for required assets, I would say we have had a very good experience.

Excellent, reliable and flexible tool

Very positive overall experience! The itemit team have always been helpful when we need them, and the software itself is very reliable, flexible and easy to use. It lacks bloat that other systems often have.

Simple interface, highly flexible database that we can set up how we need it. Excellent, easy to use QR tagging functionality.

Cons:

It would be good to have more admin tools to require specific information to be added, and rigorous templates for types of devices etc.
