ImageSite and EngineBox (our Cloud-based SaaS version of ImageSite) are JAVA-less, comprehensive, yet affordable engineering document management solutions for scanned and native digital documents. There is no software to deploy to client computers or mobile apps to download as it is built in HTML5. Our system provides a powerful security, file storage and organization, and version control capabilities all from a central distribution point. Installation is simple and normally completed in a just a few days. Once installed, users can start using the system with very little training needed, recognizing all the benefits immediately.

Great Customer Support

Overall I have been very satisfied with ImageSite and would love to move the new version, and use it to a fuller extent. Our customer service team is very responsive and has helped solve issues even on the now outdated version we use.

Pros:

Our company uses ImageSite primarily to share & control revision of our engineering drawings. It is also used to retain documents both in ongoing records and in records that require the latest revision to be available to all employees. We also store & control access to our medical & ITAR documents. One unique feature we use daily is the ability to set up print sets that allow us to automatically print out sets of documents daily (preset groups of drawings required for each day's work order packets).

Cons:

We are still using the older Java-based version, so we have some trouble getting the Java settings correct on each new user's computer.

Reasons for choosing ImageSite

After meeting with the sales people, I did not feel comfortable that the competitors could offer the print set services at the price quoted. Only one company seemed to understand what we needed, and another offered lots of customization, but customization typically adds on costs that would be equal to the cost of ImageSite, our current & trusted product.

We have been using ImageSite for many years and have been very pleased with the value and reliability of the product. The support services are excellent.

Pros:

The ability to view AutoCAD and Raster Images and to create mark-ups on the documents. The tool has a large number of features and capabilities.

Cons:

The application is designed to only store the documents in a file structure. It would be beneficial if it could also store documents in a blob.

Reasons for choosing ImageSite

ImageSite offers a great wealth of functionality at a reasonable price and they are willing to add new features into the product that are very beneficial.

To take advantage of the web capabilities and the robust toolset.

ImageSite Review

We previously did not have a very good version control standard. Our drawings could only be seen and modified directly by engineering and drafting. No at least the field can see the drawing and get a copy of it. By design they still can't modify drawings directly. But all groups now can view the drawings at the same time and discuss them which is a major improvement. Workflow has been a little frustrating to use. Also metadata setup has been a little troublesome.

I like the web based approach. It allows our field tech's to be able to see the drawings using an internet connection.

Cons:

You still need to work on the creation/development of workflows. While the current version is a major milestone of its functionality, there are limits to what you can do with it still.

Imagesite for Legacy Drawings

Imagesite solved our problems with housing and using thousands of legacy drawings in the digital age. being able to find, download, and markup these drawings digitally saves us money every month. Add to that the integration with new projects as they are completed makes the system quite versatile for us.
