    Pros:
When my company is tight on a deadline to post plans and specs, the software makes it easy to log into my account, create a new project and upload documents. Other than that, my other favorite about the software is the PDF Report Creator.
    Cons:
When I'm working on one of my projects in My Project, certain tabs I click in that project directs me to a different screen and then I have to click in My Projects again and select the project I was working on to get back in it.

    Vendor Response

Cylena, thank you so much for the review. We'd love to learn more about that redirection issue. If there is a problem, we want to fix it!

    Pros:
CIVCAST has streamlined the bidding process for our company and is easy to navigate. The most valuable feature is that it saves our company and bidders TIME and MONEY. Bidder's Lists are maintained, greatly reduces in-house plan production, any changes, Addenda, information can be sent to all plan holders with the click of a button, and it is extremely affordable for our clients. I highly recommend CIVCAST as an affordable, valuable option to promote and maintain bidding projects for your business.
    Cons:
Our employees are issued American Express corporate cards to pay for company expenses, which unfortunately CIVCAST does not accept. I would like to see AMEX added as a payment method so our employees would not be required to pay out of pocket and seek reimbursement. Otherwise, we are highly satisfied with our experience with CIVCAST.

    Pros:
It was pretty easy to upload documents and get them dispersed to the various contractors.
    Cons:
I never received any notifications when questions on the bid were posted and if I did not check, I did not know. It would be nice if there was a notification sent to me when contractors posted questions.

    Vendor Response

Hi, David. Thank you for the review. We do send alerts when contractors post questions, but you have to tell the system where you want those alerts sent. If you did that properly, and still didn't get alerts, it is possible those alerts went to your junk mail folder.

    Pros:
I am a consultant engineer who put bids together and list them on CivCast on behalf of my client. Very straightforward user interface, options to send/not send notifications for updating/adding docs. Best thing is I can see who downloaded the docs and showed interests in bidding the project.
    Cons:
Not CivCast's fault. My situation was - It is still legal requirements that government/public school bids need to be advertised on local newspapers. Some newspapers have free e-listing once the client pays to list projects on papers. Sometimes I had to explain to those public gov. agencies why we need to spend on listing on CivCast... Again, not CivCast's fault

    Vendor Response

Sammy, thank you for the review! Glad to hear our interface is "very straightforward" and that your bids get great exposure on CIVCAST.

I love that bidders (and sub contractors) can submit questions through civcast for everyone to view. I only have to answer the question one time and everyone can see the answer.
    Cons:
I don't really have any complaints about civcast. Ever since its initial roll out, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] has been pretty proactive to make sure the experience is intuitive for the users and active in updating the software to keep it relevant to my industry (civil engineering).

    Vendor Response

Rico, thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. Great to hear that ease-of-use is a "no brainer" and you can "answer a question one time and everyone can see the answer."

    Pros:
That it is available to everyone. That it manages most of the bidding documentation that I was formerly required to manage.
    Cons:
It should give me a notice when deadlines time out, for example it timed out on the date for submitting bidder questions, when I had extended the bid date - those dates ought to be linked.

Biggest benefit mentioned above is time it takes to evaluate all the bids. It also saves time on providing construction documents because I don't have to print sheets or upload to a third party cloud. I also love that I can see who has actually looked at all the drawings vs who has procrastinated!
