The platform is intuitive and easy to use. The various emission factor databases are very useful for the calculations and to look up a specific EF

Not many cons. I remember one time a client of us wanted to add a support document as attachment to several lines which is not possible. That could be an improvement point

Great solution for consultants

So far have really enjoyed using CAD, and definitely has made our jobs much easier. It's also great that we are able to help upskill our clients and empower them to be able to complete their own calculations.

Pros:

CAD is very intuitive, and super easy to use. It also has a good variety of EFs available to use. The team are super helpful and support is quick to answer any questions. In addition, they are very open to suggestions and since starting on CAD, it has developed so much, adding in new features, with many new features already in the pipeline.

Cons:

It is only easy to upload spend-based data for Cat 1. If looking to upload spend-data in other categories, this is more of a manual exercise. However, I think there is a reason for this: i.e. to promote using better, more accurate sources, i.e. activity-based data etc.

Reasons for choosing Carbon+Alt+Delete

CAD work only with consultants which was quite important. In addition, the pricing model was good. A set fee which meant we were easily able to price our projects for our customers.

Good carbon accounting software with one screen layout problem

The entire software is pretty straightforward and logical.

Cons:

The interface is quite annoying when you are working on a small laptop without the extra second monitor. When you are working in the inventory on a small laptop, you can't see more than 4 rows of the inventory! Personally, I find this quite annoying. Half of the screen in the inventory is wasted to unnecessary empty space (it is just white). On a big screen this problem doesn't occur. That's why I really wanted to take my time and write this lengthy message because I am sure this is something you can fix super easy and would help a lot with the look of the interface. Especially in on a big inventory, this takes away the whole overview when you want to compare different flows and isn't efficient. Now I have to scroll back and forth all the time. I would suggest you make the heading smaller in the inventory or you work with a bar that you can expand/collapse like you did on the left green vertical navigation bar. Also horizontally it is quite annoying that I have to scroll this much, though here there isn't such an obvious quick fix... Maybe it would be a good idea to let users adjust the width of the columns themselves? That way if I wanted I could change the width of empty columns and see all the collumns on my small screen without having to scroll back and forth. Hope this was helpfull & I hope you can optimize this usage of the screen on small laptops! Thanks

Pros:

I really appreciate the expertise behind the tool, which is fundamental for creating a reliable and functional solution for delivering carbon footprint assessments. In terms of functionalities, I believe the strength of Carbon Alt Delete lies in the ability to track all assumptions made during the modelling phase within the same environment, along with the easy access to the emissions factor library. These aspects have also been appreciated by auditors who reviewed some of our work.

Cons:

There are some functionalities I hope will be improved — for example, the simulation section, which could be very useful for developing more detailed carbon management plans, and the management of custom factor libraries. In particular, implementing a bulk import feature (similar to the one already available for inventories) would be a valuable enhancement.

Cons:

That ADEME is not further updated. I know why, but it would be handy if it was further supported (maybe the most important part of it?).

Good experience using the tool

I have a very good perception of the tool and the final customer appreciate it a lot so I think it is a good way to manage the Inventor of Emissions for any kind of companies

Pros:

It is easy to use and covers all the main needs for a proper carbon footprint calculations. Also the availabilty to multiple databases that enable the consultants to improve the performance of their calculations

Cons:

reports are not yet available in different languages so we still lose some time doing the translation

Attention to detail and continuous improvement

Since we started using this tool, we have been able to optimize our workflow by simplifying several steps. Our clients particularly appreciate the freedom in data visualization provided by the dashboards and the high level of transparency offered by the tool. With some clients, we have also experimented with hybrid usage modes, involving them in data collection and modeling phases. For some companies that are particularly advanced in this area, this is an innovative way of working, capable of building an even stronger trust relationship with the consultant and a greater sense of involvement in the project. I greatly appreciate the care with which the product is made. I have been using it for just over a year, and seeing it improve and evolve so rapidly is a testament to the constant dedication put into its development and updates. For our company, it is essential to have software that not only simplifies our work but also meets the demands of a rapidly changing market and regulatory environment. The team at Carbon + Alt + Delete has been extremely responsive to our feedback and requests for clarification, demonstrating deep expertise in GHG inventory standards and offering a range of tools and features designed to make the consultant’s job easier.

Cons:

Some aspects of the front-end might need some minor refinement. There are a few bugs and inconsistencies, especially with the import function. These are minor bugs, likely stemming from the new features and integrations that still need some polishing, but nothing that can’t be fixed with a simple patch. In any case, they do not significantly disrupt the workflow. The scenarios section could be expanded further in terms of functionality, but I believe this would require a fundamental redesign of its logic. For relatively simple and standard scenario evaluations, it works well, but as it stands, it is extremely cumbersome to model granular variations at the level of individual activity data and/or emission factors. It would be beneficial to define potential evolutionary scenarios directly during the inventory phase, both for activity data and emission factors. Otherwise, Excel remains the best option for analyses at this level.

Cons:

That it is no possible to divide into segments the perimeters for customer's users. That a specific user (end-user/customer user) can access only a specific set of categories or sites and be blind for the rest of categories or sites. This feature being specially relevant fro multiplant/multisite companies. Also, we miss the possibility to block lines in the inventory, once they are completed and validated (block line by line)

Pros:

The platform is very self explanatory, and if there are hiccups along the way, the guides are extremely useful, and the staff are always willing to answer questions. On this theme, Kenneth and the team always listen to users' feedback to the changes that are important to them.

Cons:

Allowing to customise the colours on the graphs on the dashboard would allow for more customisability, and more tailoring towards presentation for clients.
