About ServiceBox

ServiceBox is an integrated cloud-based solution for commercial and residential service-based businesses such as plumbers, HVAC repairmen, locksmiths, cleaning services and more.

It offers work orders and maintenance management tools that allow users to synchronize individual work orders with job sites. When a job is finished, ServiceBox generates a report to deliver to the customer’s email. Service technicians can create quotes from anywhere on mobile devices and tablets, which can then be converted into work orders. The scheduling application features a drag-and-drop tool for updating calendars in real time. Users can create invoices based on the work order and bill the customer on site.

ServiceBox integrates with third-party applications such as QuickBooks and Sage 50. The solution allows users to populate timesheets automatically for each work site and technicians can log their hours and give real-time job reports that ties directly into the geo-locating feature. ServiceBox provides customer support via email and phone.

Great software from a Canadian Company

Overall great software to use given that we use Sage50 Canada. Would recommend, especially if you are using mostly on computer.

Pros:
The biggest pro for us is they fully integrate with Sage 50 Canada. No other software on the market does it. The also have a very responsive development team that is helpful when there's issues. It's also helped streamline our operations from paper to electronic. Relatively flexible software to adapt to individual business needs. They are also priced really competitively and they've also grandfathered us as we've been with them a long time. Very easy and intuitive to use for the most part. It's made quoting customers so much easier than what we dealt with in the past.
Cons:
The app is a bit tedious to use. When you click open a work order, you have to wait til it loads a webpage. It's not super seamless for those who are using it on the phone. No real issues on the computer. Their servers will slow down and go down occasionally.

Reasons for choosing ServiceBox

I searched for 6 months and went on numerous calls. Service box was the only app that seamlessly integrates with Sage 50. We've even had cold calls of other companies since then and I turn them away immediately as there's no Sage 50 integration,

Good program with a few drawbacks

It's met our needs in that it allows us to have a live database that our technicians and our office can see at the same time so that we all have the information that we need.

Pros:
I like that the program allows us to keep records of our customers and their equipment all in one place. It simplifies and streamlines our service department and allows us to be more on top of sending out quotes to customers.
Cons:
It is slightly limited on the customization side of things, such as how invoices and quotes are formatted. It also doesn't allow you to look at the pictures of equipment that you've saved to a jobsite, which defeats the purpose of saving a picture...

Reasons for choosing ServiceBox

Because it had the most customization to our needs and it already was based on HVAC, which is our field.

Amazing, Saves a lot of time and paperwork. Saves administrative cost and time. The help with customizing at the start of setting it all up was very helpful.

1. No more paper to file and mail out 2. Work Orders create timesheet 3. Multiple ways to access information from different locations within the software 4. Integrates with QuickBooks Online software. 5. Able to link everything from quote through to work order and then invoice. 6.Like being able to include holiday schedules in the calender etc.
Cons:
1. I wish it was easier to look at the scheduler in the phone app like it is on the computer. 2. It would be nice to have the option to open attachments that were attached in the Work Order phase when you are in the Invoice phase. 3. While pricing an invoice rather than just showing the actual dollar value profit in the job, it would be helpful to have it show the percentage profit so we don't have to keep doing the math to see where we are at as far as profit or profit margin etc. while we are pricing up the invoice.

Reasons for switching to ServiceBox

We still use QB online for accounting but no longer use it for quotes, no longer use paper work orders or invoicing.

Great software for service business

Great overall, Software can be a bit hard to understand at first but the teams is helpful. Implementation with quickbook is awesome.

Canadian based and Canadian pricing, Value for money. Have Purchase ordered and price books, inventory management. Sync to Quickbook. Also have feature for equipment that help tracking.
Cons:
Does not have much for sales tracking. Has some bugs but Software gets updated frequently, Price is going up but have legacy customer programs. Software has a lot of features which can be a lot to learn at first. Software only work online, so if you have no internet or cell coverage you won't be able to do anything. It has PM feature but is not very robust.

Reasons for choosing ServiceBox

Feature and price. Had must of what we needed at a decent price

Reasons for switching to ServiceBox

Lack of features like PO, re-occuring WO, Sync with accounting. Jobber highly encourage credit card payment as they benefits from it and we pay the fees.

Super easy to learn and user friendly. Hardly any glitches in software, Multi device compatibility. Easy to find information when needed, from work order, quote or other.
Cons:
The follow up feature needs some work. Very difficult to dismiss alerts. I have been trying to figure it out for quite some time.

Lack of support from company, outdated software that could only be used on windows 8 laptops.

Good for now but we plan on switching soon. The customer service people have to be emailed for any changes.

The CRM function helps with daily operation. The scheduling option to drag and drop are nice. Notes on customer profiles are good.
Cons:
Simple tasks are made complicated by this software such as zipcode not printed on work orders, screens not properly displayed on cell phone, and the quality of pictures uploaded are not very good.

Cost was a big factor in our decision making process.

Awesome Work Order Management Software Perfect For Service Work

I signed up with service box after trying out some other work order management softwares that simply didn't have the layout, functionality, or features that service box did. I recall an in depth conversation with [sensitive content hidden] where as overwhelmed as i was after discussing all of my needs, and how Service box fills those needs and more, I was reassured that it is very practical to use it as a work order management software and ease into the advanced features as your need arises. I also worked directly with [sensitive content hidden] having customizations made to fit my specific needs, so Service box is able to and willing to implement specific customer modifications as needed. I have, and still, recommend service box to everyone I can, because its a fantastic software.

What sold me on Service Box was the ease of use, all of the features it is capable of and how service oriented the software / product offered is
Cons:
With any software that allows so many intricacies, it is inevitable that after a long duration of diving deep into utilizing all of the features, it becomes time consuming and difficult making changes on the same formats, such as adjusting a specific note on a recurring work order, removing or adding a check box on created checklists, ect.

The onboarding support offered by the team was excellent an it also covered some of the customization needed for your business. The Training that they put on for our technicians was very helpful as well.
Cons:
The mobile app used by technicians, in my case is a bit clunky. It comes up with many notifications when a job is scheduled, moved or changed, but the amount of notifications tends to lead me to ignoring them all together. If it would open directly to the Web view of ServiceBox, that would be very helpful.

The feature set in ServiceBox is much greater and TradeTraks scheduling was very painful to work with.
