About Jackrabbit Swim

Jackrabbit Swim is a club management software designed to help swimming schools manage online registrations, customer relationships and payment processes. Administrators can view scheduled classes on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and record absences on a unified interface.

The platform enables supervisors to create, organize and share private lesson plans including available time slots with families. Managers can record students’ costume measurements, track inventory levels, place orders and collect payments. Jackrabbit Swim allows operators to generate reports and gain visibility across finances, enrollment details and class efficiency. Additionally, team leaders can manage employee schedules, track working hours and configure role-based access permissions among staff members.

Jackrabbit Swim lets businesses integrate the system with several third-party applications including QuickBooks and Express Payroll. Pricing is based on monthly subscriptions and support is extended via FAQs, email, chat, phone and knowledge base.

Easy to use system

The system is easy to use, customer service has been fantastic, they are quick to respond and if they don’t know they answer they will find it for you and get back to you promptly. The skill section is easy to set up and parent can navigate it easily to check their children’s progress, it’s easy for staff to enter skills as well.

Cons:

The registration form can be trick/long for parents to fill out. Having to have last names of instructors posted to activate them once they are inactive. Having to do a 2 step process to pay for tuition if registering through the form.

Pretty good

Over all it’s an easy program to use on a basic level. Harder when you are trying to learn how to do something as steps are not exactly intuitive but it easy enough to research online

Ease of use for value. We have found this to be a fairly easy program to use. We are still small enough that it feels okay yet.

Cons:

family communications - would like to have texting capability. We would like to have more communication tools available for our instructors.

Don't be taken in by similar competitors, JR is the gold standard for swim schools!

JR has brought my company from revenue in the tens of thousands each year to double and triple that since 2021 when we started. I've been over the moon about it. It's head and shoulders above the other competitors in this market, in my opinion. Others might have a product that looks similar, but don't be fooled! You will come to appreciate the customer service in those moments when you are stuck or something's not working. Stick with JR!!! Take it from me!

The customer service team is absolutely incredible. Their response times are truly amazing. There have been times that the message on their website said they were after hours or out of office, and yet, I'll get a message from someone who says, hey, I saw your inquiry and wanted to get back to you. Now that's above and beyond! Another thing that is great is all the research and reporting they provide, such as the yearly Benchmark reports for the swim industry. Super useful.

Cons:

I sometimes feel like the upgrades are not the things that we are asking for - the entire dashboard overhaul for example. We were looking and wanting lots more things that seem higher priority for the users. But that said, they do have an amazing upvote program for things that you want to see added. Still, some big overhauls seem like users weren't asking for that. A better way to do private lessons has been needed for a long time, but is just now being implemented this year.

Jackrabbit software pros and cons

Not quite sure about the new dashboard yet as I have only been using the classic dashboard for the past four years. I will now have to learn something new during my downtime.

The program does much more than I can even use. I have found it very easy to get in touch with help if necessary. I also like the payment portal, which is handled by your recommendations.

Cons:

One of the things I dislike is the fact they have a price that changes as more students enter your school. We are a small school, which is only opened five months per year. Even though students may come in in May and not leave until August or September, they may come back to do a lesson or two in October November before we close. If I have to put the family into the lead file, I no longer have access to use their credit card for payment. The numbers should potentially double before the price goes up.

I love how there is space to document our actions, whether it is for a student, family, or class. Notes are integral! The Jackrabbit support team is always there to help if you have a question big or small-- and they go above and beyond in helping us find the right solution that fits our needs.

Cons:

Some things like gift cards, promo codes, and the new calendar view are difficult to work with. Especially when it comes to promo codes and gift cards, the process can definitely use some automations.

I really like this software!

I have been using Jackrabbit for three years now, and I like many things about it. Some features need to be explored, but the help service is fantastic. The new Calendar and the addition of appointments are also going to be great features.

I like that changes and improvements are always made to reflect users' needs. The help forums are varied and easily accessible. Response times are great!

Cons:

The check-out cart only allows one swimmer to be processed at a time. This can make it challenging when end users cannot return to find a class for another child and add it to the cart. This issue may not apply to all users, as some families reported that they did not have trouble with that step. The other challenge is when we use the links to our website for schedule previews; the format is not great when you offer many classes. I am sure there is a workaround, and that is the next investigation!

The display of classes by week, day, room, instructor, class type, etc. It makes scheduling so easy. Self check in is also amazing. The staff portal gives our coaches access to the information they need.

Cons:

We were hopeful that the "appointment" upgrade would allow us to schedule administrative tasks but it doesn't. Additionally we would like to see an integration to export to ADP payroll.

Affordability and the support with any issue. I bought my swim school 1/1/25 and Jackrabbit made the process smooth for myself and the former owner.

Cons:

I don't have any complaints about Jackrabbit Swim. So far, Jackrabbit Swim is able to adapt to the needs of our business and we have grown and evolved over the last 8 years, including a change in ownership.
