About ID.me

ID.me is a digital identity network where individuals verify their identity once, and never have to re-verify their identity again across any organization where ID.me is accepted. It’s just like the driver's license in the physical world. Once you’re verified, proof of your identity goes with you everywhere.

ID.me simplifies how individuals prove and share their identity online. The ID.me secure digital identity network has over 98 million members, as well as partnerships with 30 states, 10 federal agencies, and over 500 name-brand retailers. The company provides identity proofing, authentication and community verification for organizations across sectors. The company's technology meets the federal standards for consumer authentication and is approved as a NIST 800-63-3 IAL2 / AAL2 conformant credential service provider by the Kantara Initiative. ID.me's Identity Gateway also has a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Moderate Authority to Operate (ATO). ID.me is the only provider with video chat and is committed to "No Identity Left Behind" to enable all people to have a secure digital identity.

ID.me has been continuously improving their product and it is far superior to the previous solution we had. I highly recommend ID.me.

Cons:

Sometimes users think they are finished setting up their account and they are not. They don't see the continue button. I hear this is soon to be fixed.

It, at least, does provide identity verification services

Cons:

In an attempt to monetize its other services, ID.me sends unsolicited marketing emails about services not enrolled in, and thinly justifies them as "transactional", although they contain no actual account update information, no unsubscribe option, and have clearly marketing focus titles like "Take control of your data with ID.me"

Pros:

The ease that users are able to get their identity verified, is efficient and allows for them to be on-boarded quickly.

Cons:

The only complaint we have seen is with Yubikeys, there is an additional step required to login.

ID.me is a great instant verification system. It plugs right into Shopify and is very easy to set-up. Plus website visitors know it so they feel comfortable using it.

Terrible company

Terrible, terrible, waste of time, scarry with the amount of data they collect from me.

They will waste your time, and keep asking for documents to verify your identity. They drag me for 2 years, yes 2 years, and still not going through. Even special committee from congress are investigating Id.me and soon will get ride of them

No progress, waste of time, no logic when dealing with evidence.

Documents of API service are not detailed enough for the developers to build the feature.

Cons:

I wish we simply had more options/opportunities to market to their customer segments.

Id.me is a great resource for many needs!

Overall the experience has been great, I wish I had taken advantage of these deals and discounts years before.

Pros:

The features that I like most about this software is that it allows me to get discounts and deals on things that I use to pay full price for.

Cons:

A feature that I think should be improved is the way that the discounts and deals work, I believe they should be automatically taken when you click the link rather than put a promo code.
