About Sourcescrub

SourceScrub is an investment management software designed to help businesses analyze key metrics including the number of employees, leadership team members and website traffic to connect with privately held companies. The platform enables administrators to capture the contact information of relevant personnel and receive alerts on events and announcements related to prospects.

Managers can gain insights into buyer’s guides, investor portfolios, conference lists and other data dimensions to find similar organizations. SourceScrub allows teams to group and organize prospects based on sectors, portfolios and competitors using the tagging functionality. Additionally, operators can filter and map competitors according to verticals, growth rates and sizes.

SourceScrub offers an application programming interface (API), which lets businesses integrate the system with several third-party applications including Salesforce, Sugar CRM, DealCloud and Affinity. Pricing is available on request and support is extended via guides and webinars.

SS aggregates and organizes key data points about prospective investments for us to comb through. The volume and quality of this information is high quality and hard to find using alternatives.
Cons:
Some of the UI is a little outdated, however I contacted support about a couple changes I'd like to see implemented and they took the feedback and changed some things. Great to see they are in-touch with their users.

The SS platform is user friendly and chalk full of valuable data and information. Customer service with our account reps has been great. The boolean search feature, along with list saving and tagging are all great functionalities that create an efficient process.
Cons:
We still receive a lot of bounced emails. SS makes the process fairly simply in getting these corrected, but it requires revisiting the same contacts a second time.

Great tool for sourcing new companies and finding available data. Also data plugs directly into CRM, which makes it easy to figure out what private data you have on the company, if you've met them, etc. Plug in feature to your web browser is also really helpful to easily understand data points on the company.
Cons:
Would be useful if you could integrate the software directly into email, so you can update and view companies while you are in your email directly. I think a few other providers have this function.

I've become more efficient with using SourceScrub for sourcing efforts, especially in outbound emails and conference scrubbing. I use it alongside other similar tools so I don't utilize the full product functionality, but I find it very complementary.

Overall it is much easier to source potential investments and screen them quickly. Automates what used to be very manual process (i.e. excel spreadsheets, crunchbase, checking Linkedin, etc.). Would definitely recommend to anyone in growth equity / venture capital

Easy to track companies and manage a pipeline for potential investments. Chrome add-in is great; you click the sidebar and you get information on the size of company, investors, number of employees, brief description, etc.
Cons:
Search function in-app can be difficult because you need the exact legal / incorporation name to find the company you are searching for. Much easier to enter the URL and use the chrome add-in

Browser integration enables user to very easily to see key info about a company when on their website - including overview, key personnel and contact information, investments, and which "source lists" the company was found. These "source lists" also make it much easier to build out landscapes, identify peers, and generally conduct market research.
Cons:
Depth and reliability of information available for private companies is generally pretty good, but this is the key area I would like to see improved.
