akenza is a cloud-based solution designed to help businesses connect, control and manage multiple IoT devices on a centralized platform. Professionals can define business logic using the built-in rule engine and gain an overview of the behavior of devices through key performance indicators (KPIs).

akenza allows organizations to set up processing pipelines using no-code connectors and utilize the open-source device library to access pre-integrated devices. Managers can secure confidential information and configure role-based access permissions to prevent unauthorized data exploitation. The 4-D agnostic tool automatically imports data from existing devices or SIM cards, manage application output and configure connectivity subscriptions.

This is a very flexible solution that is best used as a service (PaaS) but has been easily migrated to be fully operated by our clients on a major cloud environment operated by corporate IT.

Cons:

Adapting to RBAC and IDP in general was somewhat difficult.

Bring an IoT device online in no time

The platform is ideal to rapidly register a device e.g. with LoRaWAN connectivity, take care of all the payload decoding, applying rules with conditions and forwarding the data to your own storage/visualization/processing solution.

Pros:

The platform facilitates assigning IoT-devices to organisational structures with users with different privileges. The connectivity of a device can be LoRaWAN using your own provider, The Things Network, Loriot or it can be connecting using http. Dataflows with any number of outputs can be assigned to a device to know exactly where your data is going and how it must be shaped. Rules can be defined to trigger outcomes based on input conditions, making it a versatile hub for IoT devices.

Cons:

Many ready made profiles for IoT-devices are yet to be added to the platform, although the existing amount is steadily growing and is already extensive.

Reasons for choosing akenza

Ease of use and a broad variety of connectivity integrations. You might just be able to integrate a network provider you already use.

IoT platform for sensor data

Akenza is a very helpful partner doing much more than just providing software. They helped us developing IoT use cases and shared their rich experience. The contact (support, sales) is always fast, professional, friendly and helpful - this is the thing we like most about Akenza.

Ease of use Ability to use javascript code for complex logic where neccessary Professional 2-way integration with Loriot LNS customizable tables - possibility to freely add/remove columns with lots of options

Cons:

No integrated data visualisation in V1 (is available in V2) Complex setup of standard tasks in V1 (battery warnings, connectivity warnings)

I get a simple device management and various integrations to send the data to my overlaid system. So I can easily integrate LoRa sensors into our Emalytic system.

Cons:

Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to test all the new features that come back again and again.

Straightforward, simple to use and with excellent support at all levels. They will go the extra mile to help you get your use case up and running. Akenza has worked as a true team at all levels, from one of the founders to the solutions team, to marketing and of course customer support, to get things up and running. I am very impressed and happy to work with them.

Cons:

On the other hand it is a new Cloud Sevice, so new features are added frequently, which is great, but sometimes you might encounter bugs or glitches, which they will quickly fix.

The integration with other IoT solutions. It is very easy to integrate LoRa nodes, create triggers, and monitor nodes. It is flexible, both for developers and customers.

Cons:

Data representation could be improved, but data can be easily sent to Grafana or other visualization platforms.

The product is easy to use and highly customizable. It perfectly adapts to the needs and it is possible to create custom solutions inside the platform.

Cons:

Data visualization could be improved. Unfortunately, jasvascript is the only available programming language for decoding payload and logic blocks.
