Magnus makes school medical records easy.

Pros:

Sending parents information on children's school nurse visits is easy with their template. We also love the fact that we can send mass emails to classroom parent with easy regarding needed health information.

Cons:

We wish inputting vaccinations was easier and that we could be alerted automatically when a student's vaccinations based on Missouri's state requirements.

Reasons for switching to Magnus Health

IT worker found Magnus and liked it better. He presented it to myself and our other nurse at the time and we liked it as well.

I think it's great! I've recommended it to other schools. I'm really the only one that uses it at my school as there are many other programs the others use. I use this mainly for the EMR feature for nurse's notes.

Pros:

I like how easy it is to go to Nurse's notes and incident reports. And it's easy to create forms as needed.

Cons:

I don't like how slow Magnus can be. It always takes so long to switch pages where I call Magnus, "Molasses" sometimes.

We Could Not DO our Daily Work Without Magnus Health

On a day to day basis , Magnus is easy to use.

Cons:

There are certain functions that are not helpful for reporting. Ex: the immunization tracker. If something is not Required. There seems to be no way to gather the information for the report needed.

Review of Magnus for High School Counseling Departments

It was easy to get use to and our administration teams likes that we can run data on how many students we have seen and put them in categories.

Pros:

This software is easy to use and my department likes the ability to use it collaboratively. Great place to keep track of meetings with students without have to write on paper and so available for entire department to view. I like that our department was able to customize how our notes look like which could be different than the nurse who has different needs.

Cons:

I do not like the new Multi-Factor Authentication Code as I am on a private computer and do not think it is necessary and slows me down.

Pros:

Magnus puts the power and control into the hands of the user (parent/guardian). Instead of paper files being kept everywhere, Magnus' system is an easy to use tool that allows parents to answer pre-set questions relating to their student's health and upload the required files. It is a much more secure system then sending private health care records in the mail. Also like that troubleshooting is handled directly by Magnus.

Cons:

We implemented this software during COVID and getting up to speed quickly was challenging. Support did their best to assist us in rolling out the software. I'm sure many schools and organizations were pivoting at the same time.

I love the organization and tracking methods to compile data. I also find the "pending" feature quick and effective to remind me to review important health information. I also love the fact that you can send emails or messages to parents right through the system.

Cons:

I honestly have to say that I have not yet found any cons with this particular software with regards to documenting electronic medical health records.

Pros:

Magnus allows us to keep all our student records in one place and allows easy yet controlled access to health, insurance and other personal information. There are many options to customize what data is collected and how it's shared.

Cons:

There are so many options on the administrator side that it can be hard to remember where to go to update things--especially since this happens in many cases just once a year. But I've managed to make and file away good notes to help.
