Easy to use, great for beginners!

4

Overall, I have been satisfied with AOL mail. If I had not been, I would not have been using it for the past 20+ years. It does exactly it is intended to do, it sends and receive emails. There's not all the extra bells and whistles that some of the other email applications offer however I don't need the bells and whistles at this time. It also does a great job at organizing my emails and putting the correct emails in the spam folder. I highly recommend AOL Mel for beginners, such as my grandmother who just recently got an actual email address for the first time. It's very user-friendly!

Pros:
First of all.. who can forget the sound of "you've got mail" from the 90's. It use to give me butterflies in my stomach. I have kept my same AOL email address for over 20 years & still use it today! Easy to access through the app on my cell phone as well as my laptop.
Cons:
Face it. AOL mail is a little behind the times in the options it offers. But it's free, efficient & still works perfectly fine for sending & receiving emails.

With All The Email Providers, I'll Still Go Back To My First Love -- AOL

Pros:
The email provider was outside of college was my first. I still use it for more personal use. Until I was able to get and create a business email, everything went to AOL. It became confusing at times, but one of the great things about AOL was the ability to keep things organized by creating folders. I'm shocked it still keeps email from when I first used it.
Cons:
I wish it would accept large files, and have the capability of sharing them. I still remember when there was AOL Broadband. That was my first introduction to high-speed Internet. $60 per month was costly, but it was worth it. Still saddened by the fact they got rid of it. If AOL Broadband was brought back, I'd be the first to get it.

Reasons for switching to AOL Mail

When I was in college, Netscape was the email provider for all college students. After graduation, I had to find another email provider. At the college I attended, once a student graduate, they no longer had a Netscape email account. Their account and all their email was deleted. I don't even know if Netscape is still around.

Pros:
AOL was a great email management system in it's prime. It excelled as a leader in the begining. I still have an AOL account but do not use it frequently. I do like the search feature as it is helpful. I also appreciate the ability to create many folders for sorting.
Cons:
The software was pretty out dated, when I used it last as a primary email management software. I know it has improved but I feel like the amount of ads and pop ups are excessive.
