A brilliant tool for an PR professional.

Very positive, although still on boarding looking forward to using it moving forward. Really great tool for any pr to have.

A Practical & Efficient Tool

While I occasionally find contact details that are out of date, issues are quickly sorted and using MediaHQ has been a positive experience thanks to the reliable and straightforward way to manage press distribution and media outreach. It’s particularly useful for building targeted media lists and getting press releases out quickly.

Pros:

An efficient platform which simplifies media list management and press release distribution. The ability to build targeted lists and easily edit is a major plus, and having journalist contact details and recent articles in one place saves a lot of time. I also find the Chrome add-on particularly useful for adding contacts to lists quickly and easily.

Cons:

While the platform is efficient, the journalist database can sometimes feel a little out of date. The actual interface for editing releases can feel slightly clunky when editing longer releases also, and slightly temperamental when pasting content. A couple of times I’ve forgotten to attach photos to press releases – perhaps a more prominent place for attachments or a simple flag reminder may help.

What stands out most, however, is the quality of the customer service. The team is consistently supportive, friendly, and quick to respond, making it easy to resolve any questions that arise. Their hands-on approach adds a lot of value and builds confidence in the platform. While there are a few areas that could be refined, such as more detailed reporting and even broader search capabilities, these are relatively small in comparison to the overall benefits. MediaHQ offers reliability, efficiency, and a genuinely user-focused experience, making it a strong choice for anyone managing media outreach.

Cons:

While MediaHQ is a strong platform overall, there are a few areas where I feel it could improve. At times, the search functionality can be a bit limited, especially when trying to find very specific journalists or niche media outlets. Occasionally, some contact information can feel slightly outdated, which means I need to double-check certain details before sending a release. I also think reporting features could be a bit more detailed to offer deeper insights into campaign performance. None of these issues are deal-breakers, but refining these elements would make the platform even more powerful. With how responsive the customer service team is, I’m hopeful these enhancements will continue to evolve over time.

Good pruduct

Have used the product through the years - and features that were included in the MediaHQ when I started using the product 10 years ago are now are separated out and costed individually so it's getting more and more difficult to not feel price gouged. Training is a video and very little else. Useful to have influencers on the list hub too.

The list hub is a hugely useful resource. The product is really easy to use and scheduling of press releases is a very useful feature. The reporting tool is useful too.

Cons:

There was no offer of integrating with an existing business product. Two step authentication is time consuming and not necessary. The list hub can be confusing. Lists can also be out of date - people have left, moved jobs or are not included. Title of people and where they work in large organisations would be useful.

Fantastic Service

Very positive, incredibly easy to use with features that make the press release process much more efficient. Also very easy to edit/reschedule which is important in PR!

Pros:

Very easy to use and update, the frequent updating of contacts who have left/joined organisations is hugely helpful! Also, the ease of curating bespoke distribution lists has been hugely helpful and acts as a great offering for clients of IDA.

Cons:

Lists feature was initially difficult to navigate (adding someone from a private list while also adding a contact from the MediaHQ list), however after querying with your customer success team it was explained clearly.

Reasons for switching to MediaHQ

Not as efficient and value for money was considered an issue with PRGloo

Excellent system and well maintained database of contacts

Excellent -- it's reliable and easy to use, and I feel it gets press releases and pitches to the vast majority of appropriate media targets without my having to spend ages searching for contacts myself.

Cons:

Having to manually update media lists every day, which isn't workable sometimes. Would be great if changes could be automatically made.

The ease of use and access to hundreds of media contacts across a variety of verticals and publications. The customisation when mass pitching and ease of use in updating fields

Cons:

Can be clunky when editing text in the box, errors and words jump around. When creating lists, you can mass add to lists, you need to go page by page, which if you forget to save, can take time

It's a well-organised, practical tool with great user interface. Use options are clear on homepage and there is quick access to most features in less than 3 clicks.

Cons:

A bit difficult at first to input own contacts in a quick way. Also, I would like to see urls created for specific labels and lists for quick access and easier sharing.
