Screaming Frog SEO Spider is a website crawling tool designed to help businesses extract onsite data, audit SEO issues and analyze results in real-time. Features include duplicate page detection, site visualization, crawl scheduling, forms-based authentication, XML sitemap generation and reporting.

The tool enables SEO professionals to crawl small or large websites, track broken links and server errors and export the source URLs to developers for correction. Digital marketers can analyze page title and meta descriptions, discover temporary and permanent redirects and detect blocked URLs through tag directives. Screaming Frog gives end-to-end technical SEO suggestions and errors in One Dashboard. Errors like Crawl errors, internal link errors, broken links, meta characters length, alt attributes can able to fix with the help of Screaming Frog.

Cons:

Its Good For Technical Seo but we have to look for another tool for Keyword Research, competitor analysis, and backlink. it would be great if they include other SEO tools

Overall SEO Spider is great value, and offers lots of insight as to technical issues to watch out for on your website. It even details why they are an issues and how to fix them.

I love how simple SEO Spider is to use, its trickier to master but in terms of plugging in a URL and setting it off, its very simple and lets you know what issues to look out for on the chosen website.

Cons:

As its local software, if crawling a big site you can run out of internal memory to store the data and your computer can get slow while crawling.

A big leap of faith if paying

Although it surpasses its competitors in terms of the amount of information displayed, I don0t like having to start from scratch, or for it to crawl what it shouldn't - which puts you over the 500 url limit... even on a small site.

There are so many features - most of which are available in the free version

Cons:

As far as I could see - there was no way to only crawl the links I provide. I could also not locate a way to save the progress to check on another day, meaning I have to start from scratch every time. This, however, wouldn't be an issue in the paid version as far as I can see

While other tools have invested in fancy dashboards and visual reporting - Screaming Frog has built a platform designed for power and detail. The ability to render JAVA, crawl subdomains, and identify a range of SEO issues is second to none.

Cons:

For first time users, the program can feel intimidating. Learning to Export data and manage that data in Excel is essential to getting the most out of the software. For anyone working in Technical SEO that learning curve is a must, because the granularity and results are far greater than those offered by other platforms.

I can endlessly write about the pros of Screaming Frog. Here are a few: 1. For enterprise-level websites, you will never know which links are working and which have been dead (5xx/4xx). This crawler can help you identify all the dead links on your website. When I say dead links I mean links that are 3xx or 4xx. 2. You can easily fetch data for the number of internal links that each of your web pages is receiving. The more the number of internal links the more SEO value a page gets. Based on this data, you can easily alter your web architecture to pass the maximum number of internal links to your key landing page. 3. You can check all the images which has missing alt tags 4. You can find duplicate content pages on your website 5. You can check pages with missing meta title and description 6. You can check pages with duplicate meta title and description

Cons:

1. The max crawl speed available is 20 URLs/s which can be increased 2. They should also provide hosting platforms to run the crawler or introduce a web-based solution

Screaming Frog is the tool that allows you to evaluate your website as if you were the Google spider, that is, it is a crawler that allows you to evaluate each and every technical component at the SEO level.

Cons:

The tool at a general level is incredible, it is important to configure correctly according to the specific need you have, two winners of all the options you have: Connections to Google Analytics apis, Google Search Console and Ahrefs. Information architecture viewer.

I needed to pull real-time crawls of extensive client sites. The free plan allows 500 URL's, which is a good start for small sites, but the Unlimited access from a paid plan is essential for any mid-size or enterprise sites. Easy data export into CSV for documentation or graphical manipulation. Super simple interface and navigation that isn't bloated with design complexity.

Cons:

Some data fields could have include a better description of what they are pulling for values. A simple question-mark adjacent to the field would help, rather than having to hunt down documentation on their site. The user-interface hasn't been updated in ... well, ever. That could be improved, though I like the simple aesthetic, which I'm sure helps the application run quickly.

It can do just about anything you need from a crawler, and at a fraction of the cost of other top tools. Interface is straightforward and simple.

Cons:

There’s a lot in the tool, so finding each part and learning it takes time. CSV exports for large sites are huge - an excel or other compressed version would be ideal.
