NetForum Enterprise for the Fundraising Client

    4

We are a large, data-heavy, and highly customized enterprise client and have been satisfied with NetForum. There have been points where the system had performance issues because of the load of our data. However, the folks at Community Brands have always worked with us to resolve any issues we have experienced.

    Pros:
Use of SQL to create a logical and extremely robust structure Ease of adding extender tables and use of form designer Excellence of Client Services, Support, and Upgrade teams
    Cons:
Can require significant customization in the Fundraising and Moves Management Modules, especially if you have restrictions on your funds

    Reasons for choosing NetForum Enterprise

We chose NetForum because it was robust enough and flexible enough to allow us to customize as needed for our fundraising business model and data needs.

Reasons for switching to NetForum Enterprise

The previous CRM did not allow us full access to our data and was not robust enough to handle the volume of our data.

    Pros:
For a small association like ours, NetForum Enterprise has all the features and functions we could possibly need. It is relatively easy to use, has inbuilt AR functionality, Exhibit, Awards and Advertising management functionality. It also has the capability to be integrated with other systems using xWeb, which we have used quite extensively. We also have used the eWeb functionality and have 2 customer facing sites.
    Cons:
Upgrades have been a hurdle in the past, which is why we are still on an older version. The API we use is still SOAP based, at least on our version, there is very limited RESTful capability. It could also be more intuitive and expanded. The Sales module provided could have more functionality. We had to move to Salesforce to manage our Sales pipeline and other lead generating functionality, something that could easily be improved in NetForum. The CMS could be improved and more user friendly and intuitive The staff facing (iweb) interface could be a bit more user friendly and modern (We are on an older version - so some of the cons might already have been addressed)

    Reasons for choosing NetForum Enterprise

I believe NetForum had all the functionality of multiple systems we used at the time.

Reasons for switching to NetForum Enterprise

It happened before my time so I am not sure.

I like that NetForum's user interface is somewhat easy to use. It also integrates well with other products our association uses (like Maritz global events or OpenWater).
    Cons:
The Committee and Query systems can be quite wonky. Especially with the Query system, if you need to pull large amounts of data it can be tricky.

There are sometimes roadblocks for conducting fairly standard procedures based on the association industry. Bugs are not always addressed in a timely manner.

    netForum is a good tool

netForum on the whole is a good tool, the credentialing module on the other hand is junk.

    Pros:
Works as advertised, and is a robust AMS, it's severely lacking in the Credentialing space.
    Cons:
Where the problem lies is with the vendor that built the module. They are horrendous, they lack any comprehensive test methodology or business analysis. They build new credentials for us and upon launch it breaks things upstream with existing credentials, and then they want to bill us to fix what they broke. Community Brands needs to manage their VARs better and hold them to a higher standard. The current vendor for the Credentialing module is terrible.

Reports are hard to pull---there is no report to simply show who has paid and who has not paid. Events can be a challenge to set-up if need detailed information. Again, can be hard to pull a report with good data for an event too.

    Pros:
It's hard to know if NetForum wasn't configured for my company properly or if it just doesn't do what we need it to do. I like it from the standpoint of it's pretty easy to navigate on a basic level if you've never used it. You can search for individuals using multiple options such as Member ID, phone, last name which makes it helpful if you only have one piece of the individuals information. I also appreciate that it's sticky and remembers what I've previously searched for.
    Cons:
I wish the reporting was better more automated. I wish we could make notes within the organization itself or add notes to member records as my organization uses NetForum accross multiple departments and I feel there's more opportunity to build this out in a way that various groups could see recent activity with a member or organization easily.
