About Jackrabbit Music

Jackrabbit Music is a cloud-based class management software that helps music schools handle online registrations, track attendance and process payments on a unified platform. Instructors can use the application to view daily, weekly or monthly classes using built-in calendars, generate absence reports and monitor students’ progress and achievements.

Jackrabbit Music’s billing and payment management system enables organizations to display fee structures across user accounts, calculate discounts and automatically send payment receipts to clients. The application offers a parent portal, which allows users to update learner’s information, view daily schedules and track attendance. Additionally, it allows administrators to notify students, parents, and staff about operating hours, vacations and other announcements via text messages.

Jackrabbit Music facilitates integration with QuickBooks, which lets organizations automate various accounting operations like book-keeping, revenue management and financial data analysis in real-time. Pricing is available on a monthly subscription and support is extended via phone and email.

Clear layout of data. Very accessible multi-level data!! Excellent record keeping and reporting ability!!

Cons:

The scheduler could benefit from "drag and drop" functionality, but I suspect that it is not available for good reason. The retail integration is a bit clumsy

It’s easy to use and access the data base

Cons:

Tuition post is tedious and not automatic. Recently, we’ve been having problems adding new staff. Repeating Costumers are not being asked to update their info at registration, which causes issues

Jackrabbit Music Review

So far, Jackrabbit Music has helped us achieve our goals in building our music program, however some times I feel like I spend more time trying to figure out how to finish a task than the task itself. I am grateful for the top notch customer service however, as they are always there to help me find my way through the program.

Pros:

I like that there are multiple options for setting up classes, events, etc. and that I am able to access contact info for all of my clients.

Cons:

The private lesson module is not ideal. I should be able to reschedule a one off lesson or cancel a lesson easily so that it reflects better on my calendar. I am unable to mark attendance for my instructors without having to be added to their class and accessing the portal. I also wish there was a way I could reschedule a one off lesson without having to create a whole new "class". The interface is outdated and some times hard to find your way around.

Happy we made the switch!

Everything has been very positive. We were with a different client last year and the contrast in customer support and functionality are an ongoing delight.

Jackrabbit allows us to easily track our students in our classes, and has helped us ensure that our enrollment reaches its maximum total for each class.

Cons:

The email client for sending out email messages has, in some cases, proved difficult as we try to send out branded emails to our student families. So much is dependent on using images and dynamic text in emails now and that has limited us in some respects.

This product offered us more ability to enroll in certain classes and to move students between classes. We were able to set up waiting lists and communicate with families better.

Detailed review- holding nothing back

We really like this software overall. It's made a lot of things easier for us as a business, and there is still so many unexplored features that we still have to try.We will definitely continue using this product for the foreseeable future. I think the only thing that would make us switch away from this product, would be if our music studio hit and enrollment level that just got to cumbersome for the software. At that point we might switch to something more heavy duty like MindBody, which has definitively better and more user-friendly scheduling and billing capabilities; But that's something to reassess farther down the line.

I love that this software was such an upgrade from what we were using before (Course storm), and that the price point is perfect for where we are as a program. I love that the price only increases as our business increases, so you know what to anticipate.One thing I really want to point out is the website integration! You can set up your website so that class is automatically pop up when you have them in jackrabbit! It is taking so much work off of my marketing team. With our previous software, we had to do a website update every time we made any sort of change. Now I can just make the change in jackrabbit, and it changes itself on our website!I love the wealth of information that you can collect. Allergies, emergency contacts, taking notes, marking problem accounts. There's so many ways to customize your information, your classes, your scheduling, your emails, pricing, and ETC.THE HELP OPTIONS! I've never in my life use a software that has a help and instructional option as comprehensive and well done as jackrabbit. I almost never need to schedule a zoom call or call in to get help with anything. Literally any question you have you can find in their database. If you do run into something that you just can't figure out, it is super easy to set up a 15-minute zoom call, and they pull up your account and walk you through it. Their account assistance is amazing!Lastly- the wealth of features. There are so many different features in the software!

Cons:

My biggest qualms with jackrabbit software:Customer billing requires a lot of work. There's some automation available, but it doesn't work correctly if you haven't gone through your system and double checked everyone's categories. I also don't think there's an option to automate e-payments. That means that whatever your billing cycle is, you have to go in every month to do it. I would just really love to check a box that says Susie gets charged $100 a month, and then never have to think about it again until Susie quits.

We chose jackrabbit software because It offered the greatest functionality and customizations, for the most reasonable price point. It also allowed us to stick within our branding, and use our already made platform.

Reasons for switching to Jackrabbit Music

I previous software was not only more expensive than jackrabbit, but also did significantly less. What coursestorm was charging us for, we could have done for free with a Google form and a Venmo link.

Critical features are missing

The best thing about Jackrabbit is its support team. They are always there to help and guide through problems.

We hoped it would be a complete music school management software, but it is not.

Cons:

Signing up for the software we realized that a few critical features were not there, but were assured that it is under consideration. Two years later, after multiple "idea suggestions" with an overwhelming support from the fellow users these critical for any music school features are still missing. There is still No Store feature and No private lessons feature. Dance Recital Ticketing and the Uniform are not useful to a music school. Considering other options now. The only thing stopping me is the amount of time we spend learning and organizing, but unless the Private lessons and the store would be include, the switch will happen.

Price point and a hope that all the "promised" features would be included. Considering switching to Aplos now.

Jackrabbit is Useful

Jackrabbit is a very useful too for all the classes I run and communication I do with families at our organization. I have never used another system so I don't have any other experience to compare it to.

People can register themselves and pay for classes all online/through their account. I can easily email one class or a number of classes at the same time. I can search for and email students by class history, age, town, et.

Cons:

I cannot create classes that are every other week or monthly in a batch, I have to individually create them. When classes are prorated, families/customers don't see the prorated amount until it is in their cart. I feel this deters people from signing up if they think they have to pay the full amount.

Not Intuitive

This software is required for use at the music school where I teach, but I find it incredibly frustrating and not at all intuitive to use.

Pros:

This program allows you to track your students, take their attendance, and log your hours. It's nice to have that information in one place in an online platform that teachers and administrators can both access.

Cons:

The software is extremely clunky to use. The view is not a calendar view, and you can only view one week at a time, with each day as a drop down menu. Hours and attendance are in different tabs, and you can only view attendance for one day at a time.
