SolarWinds BPA is the right tool for network administration and management.

The optimal use of the network bandwidth is a vital point for the end users since it is here where failures such as slowness or in extreme cases lack of service are detected, being able to count on a tool that detects alterations in the bandwidth, no matter how small, is extremely essential for the network administration team, SolarWinds facilitates this work by allowing to detect these changes and focuses on analyzing which end device is causing such anomaly, it also helps to analyze abnormal or malicious traffic through the analysis of protocols and from there to eradicate it from the network, BAP is a very complete tool with multiple functions of great help to the workgroup.

Pros:

SolarWinds BPA has some very helpful features that I can summarize below: I can have both a global and detailed view of bandwidth usage in our network, detect almost that instantly when bandwidth consumption thresholds have been exceeded and notify through preconfigured alerts to react as soon as possible, allows us to delve meticulously on devices and protocols that are affecting the consumption of our network and execute the relevant actions, the user interface is highly customizable allowing us to adjust the graphs (histograms, paretto) according to the metrics we need to evaluate.

Cons:

Its implementation is based on the on premises modality, thus requiring equipment with specifications capable of supporting the consumption of resources, especially if in parallel to this tool, use is made of other tools that require high performance of the machine, this forces to have personnel located on site or requires remote connection to the machine.
