About GolfStatus

GolfStatus is a tournament management solution that helps non-profit organizations manage online registrations, live scoring or leaderboards, digital sponsorships and more. It enables professional golfers to track scores, record statistics on single rounds including the number of putts, misses or penalties and post scores or photos across various social media platforms.

The data transfer capability enables administrators to transfer information related to volunteers, attendees and spectators to spreadsheets or third-party customer relationship management (CRM) systems. Golfers can use GolfStatus to win rewards such as discount coupons, guest passes, stay-and-play packages and more from various sponsors and brands.

Stakeholders can utilize mobile applications on Android and iOS devices to view nearby golf courses, register for golf tournaments and view live leaderboards during events, even from remote locations. GolfStatus lets administrators send automated push notifications for fundraising events, tee time availability and discounts to participants. Pricing is available on a per-event basis.

    It was great--the team at golf status is incredibly responsive and helpful! Again, I think if you’re looking for a quick, easy, and inexpensive golf tournament management software you’re in the right place.

    I think its an easy registration software when you have a specific event like a golf tournament with 4 players on a team and holes etc.
    Cons:
    Unfortunately, it was marketed to us as something that could be customized depending on our needs, and that was not entirely true due to the technological constraints on the software to be JUST for golf tournaments.

    I like the ease of use with golf status and that they make it a seamless transition each year for us by building out the page for us, we just make small adjustments based on what we've changed on our end. I like that our customers seem to have a fairly easy time getting their information loaded in.
    Cons:
    For some reason this year, the website feature was not working for our sponsors. Whenever they would try to add their website, it would say that it was not a URL so I would then get a phone call and I'd have to tell them to just not add a website and I would then add it later. I also don't like that I can't prioritize packages by reordering them on my own. They're instead automatically ordered by price so then sometimes it's confusing because certain things should naturally go together/next to each other.

    The user interface and ease of managing a golf outing is so much easier with GolfStatus. I have used this service for about 5 years now, and it makes running a golf outing a breeze.
    Cons:
    I can't really find a con. I have tried running golf outings without GolfStatus, and there is no way I would go back to the old way.

    The customer support is probably the top highlight of GolfStatus. [sensitive content hidden] was quick to respond when needed, and previous employees we have worked with had the same urgency. The platform has a sleek design and setup is pretty straightforward.
    Cons:
    We were disappointed to learn that the discount codes now carry a cost with using them.

    Reasons for choosing GolfStatus

    GolfStatus has the best visual appearance in our opinion vs the other products and the pricing was more favorable based on the functions we would be using. GolfStatus makes it much easier than just using Microsoft Excel.

    The staff is incredibly helpful, not only in creating your tournament site but also in educating our team on how to best use the software. We've used GolfStatus two years in a row at our charity golf fundraiser, and we couldn't be happier. Totaling scores and breaking flights at the end of the day is nothing more than clicking a button. Not to mention, the tools within the software for scorecards, golf cart signs, alpha lists, etc. make life easier for our organization and the golf course staff as well. GolfStatus is a true blessing to our organization!
    Cons:
    My only recommendation would be to overhaul the registration pages that our team captains and sponsors see when purchasing their packages. It works. There's no complaint there, but it isn't graphically pleasing to the eye. For such amazing software, it lacks a modern look.

    A Game-Changer for Our Tournament Management

    Again, as a first-time tournament planner, I was expecting a much more stressful experience managing all of the pieces for players and sponsors. But GolfStatus made the whole experience so easy and, yes, even enjoyable! I appreciated having a dedicated support tech person who answered my questions in a timely and helpful manner, and who provided additional support to me as a first-time user. There's no question that I will be using GolfStatus again for next year's tournament!

    As a first-time tournament planner, I was warned about the headache that player and sponsor management would be. With GolfStatus, there was never a headache moment! By directing all of our players and sponsors to our event page they were able to register with ease. And the admin/management side was easy and intuitive to navigate. I can't imagine hosting our event any other way!
    Cons:
    I can't say there was anything I "liked least" about GolfStatus. The only limitation I encountered was being able to allow players to assign themselves to teams if they registered individually -- I would have to manage that on the back-end. But they did have an easy workaround to ensure players could provide me with the necessary information to get them on their preferred team, so it wasn't a big deal.

    Grip N' Rip Maui Loves Golf Status

    Great customer service. Jon was assigned to me and was always available. He was always re-assuring me that we are in good shape and kept it upbeat and positive even when I was losing my mind. Response time before and after the tournament was great. Use of the emergency number helped.

    I love having control over the teams and making changes right away. There are so much more that I see we can do but I didn't dive into it but will surely be more into the system next year. Loved being able to print the lists as soon as making changes. I'll probably utilize the sign options more.
    Cons:
    I can't really say what I didn't like about it. We had a little hiccup, but it was more user error not being familiar with the system. Came up with a game plan for next year so we won't have that hiccup.

    First time managing a golf tournament, done and check!

    It was very good! I was thankful my new employer was already established with GolfStatus and had used them for the last two tournaments, so GolfStatus was also familiar with our organization. It made this "unfamiliar" world of golf for me easier to navigate!

    This was my first time organizing a golf tournament. I am not a golfer and even though I have managed countless events, this one felt intimidating to me. Jon from GolfStatus reached out to introduce himself to me and offer a tutorial of the platform which was super helpful and was very timely in responses to any questions I had throughout the months leading up to our tournament. The site was very intuitive and user friendly. The day after the tournament he sent an email asking how it went and offered to schedule a post-event debrief call, which we did. I learned about a feature that we didn't use this year but look forward to incorporating it into next years tournament.
    Cons:
    I don't have anything to compare this platform to, so I don't have anything that I didn't like about it! :)
