Pros:

Heimdal has a unique combination of automation, granular control, and seamless integration with other ecosystems. Their JIT is straightforward to administer, and the application controls granularity is superior to that of other platforms.

Cons:

I don't know yet if they offer a built-in Password Vault, but if it is in the works, that would be a plus.

Reasons for switching to Heimdal Privileged Access Management

It did not meet our needs and had total network dependency.

Good basic PAM system

Overall good - easy to setup, understand and deploy and i would take it over manually controlling PAM any day-

Pros:

Overall its very easy to deploy Heimdal products, if you already use Heimdal its as simple as enabling the feature in the GP, and you're good to go.

Cons:

The user experience leaves something to be desired in comparison to Admin By Request, users needs to right-click a file to run it with Heimdal PAM, with ABR its inline as soon as the exe is run. There is also no mobile app that support SAML logins for admins.

End user ease of use of product, this product is simple for our end users to understand and use

id like to have more control over what users can use pam with, as in maybe not allow system settings to be accessed

Price, we will probably eventually move over to intune as we want to manage solely through intune but for now and the next couple years we will use heimdal

Cylance was one of the alternative products that we considered before purchasing Heimdal Privileged Access Management (PAM). Cylance is a well-known and highly-regarded endpoint protection solution that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to detect and prevent malware and other cyber threats. While Cylance is an effective solution for endpoint protection, it does not offer the same level of advanced security features and compliance and audit management capabilities that Heimdal PAM provides for privileged access management.

While Sophos antivirus solution provided effective endpoint protection, it did not offer the same level of advanced security features and compliance and audit management capabilities that Heimdal PAM provides.

Constant improvements in features and user interface, plus flexible management options (auto/manual approval).

Cons:

Guides could be improved and updated more frequently—especially when UI changes are introduced. For example, when there was a change in user interface for the end user "Run with PEDM" option, both in the title and graphics.
