Fathom is next level!

It's been wonderful. Everyone on my team is now using it as well as a number of other people that I have recommended it to.

Pros:

I love the great notes it creates at the end I was using a different note taking app but Fathom is so much better. I love the real time monologue and percentage of talk time that pops up while you are in the meeting.

Cons:

So far it's really been great. I wanted to actually record an in person meeting the other day and couldn't figure out how to do it so I opened zoom so I could have the notes afterwards. You might be able to open it for in person meetings but I haven't figure out how yet. (I only took about 20 seconds to try so I'll check more in depth and see if I am able)

Reasons for switching to Fathom

Fathom is far superior to Otter.ai and the real time feedback really differentiates it.

Fathom is hands-down one of the smartest tools I’ve added to my workflow. As a founder managing multiple priorities, I’m constantly on Zoom calls — and Fathom feels like the team member I didn’t know I needed.

Cons:

There’s honestly very little to critique — the product delivers on its promise. If I had to mention something, it would be the occasional delay in syncing or organizing call summaries when internet connection is spotty. It’s a minor issue, but in fast-paced workflows, real-time reliability is key. That said, the Fathom team seems responsive and constantly improving, which gives me confidence in its evolution.

I switched from Otter.ai to Fathom because I needed a more seamless and integrated experience specifically designed for live calls, not just passive transcription. Fathom feels purpose-built for action: it highlights key moments in real time, automatically organizes notes by topic, and integrates effortlessly with Zoom without needing extra setup. Compared to Otter.ai, Fathom feels faster, more intuitive, and better aligned with the pace and demands of a modern, multitasking workday. It’s not just capturing conversations — it’s actively enhancing them.

I couldn’t fathom not using it

This is the second time I’ve used fathom, having previously used it at another employer. It is very, very effective for taking notes and allowing me to stay present in meetings where I need to build rapport with clients.

Fathom makes meetings so much easier to manage. I love how accurately it captures conversations, even when people speak fast or have different accents. The summaries are spot-on and save me a lot of time in writing notes. The interface feels clean and intuitive, and it’s simple enough that everyone on the team can use it without much learning curve.

Cons:

Occasionally, there’s a slight delay in syncing the recordings, especially right after a long meeting. Also, I wish there were more options to customize the summary format or highlight key takeaways automatically. But these are minor things compared to how well the core features wor

Overall it has been great. I have solely started to rely on Fathom for most of my meetings as the notetaker

The quick action items that are emailed to every member after the call and that you can ask questions and it answers from the meeting summary

Cons:

I need to think about it seriously. There aren't any downsides or improvements that I can think of

What I like most about Fathom is the accuracy of notes it provides along with timestamps for each notation.

Cons:

I dislike the placement of the summaries at the bottom of the screen. It is hard to view/read so I extract it to another applicaiton.

The AI meeting note taker has a superior method of collecting the information and a variety of pre-set options for sorting that are much more useful than competitors.

Cons:

No cons at the moment other than needing budget to maintain the premium option which has the superior AI note taking capacity.

Best AI notetaking app

It's been super helpful for incredible accurate summary of my meetings. Also super easy to find a specific piece of information in a meeting I conducted. I have also tested other AI note taking apps but Fathom gives me (by far) the most accurate and organized summaries for my meetings.
