Pros:

It just works, configure your storage (not tied to any vendor) and you are up and running.

Cons:

Older versions were not very stable running on Server 2008. That has changed with MS 2012/2016.

Rock Solid Choice

We are now able to provide storage redundancy for the organization which is critical in a healthcare environment. SANSymphony also makes failover between arrays easy and very convenient when we have to perform maintenance on them.

SANSymphony provides the redundancy and stability we need in our 24/7 environment, and it does so flawlessly. We need reliability and SanSymphony delivers

Cons:

While the product does work as advertised, initial implementation was not without its challenges. To be fair, we did have a very complex environment with 6 different arrays so this was not unexpected.

Its been a decent experience until now and its been almost 3 years since i used this product

Pros:

DataCore SAN Symphony is one of the best software defined storage virtualization software for small enterprises who can't afford SAN/NAS storage hardware. It helps in creating software defined storage environments for VDI environments which can provide optimization of storage by combing SSDs and HDD which gives you auto tiering option especially for hyper-v environments.

Cons:

Works well with Windows Hyper-v however on other hypervisor platforms DataCore SAN Symphony is not a suitable option and licenses are also expensive which basically depends on the amount of storage being considered for virtualization.

I love write cache of this product. it work well and increases the performance Grouping of heterogeneous storage and intelligent tiering Storage optimization and de-duplication really good Concept of software SAN is really useful thin-provisioning Its user friendly. Good monitoring and performance reports Over all i would say this is wonderful storage virtualization software.

more features need in Alerting system and health checkes

Pros:

Datacore SANSymphony is robust software, with industry leading storage management. It's very well designed by a great group of people and supported by a dedicated and intelligent group

Cons:

Datacore does a bad job of marketing themselves, unfortunately. Add to that the fact that the software cost is high relative to many competitors and the fact that it's a much easier prospect to go with an appliance based storage vendor from a management standpoint (not a cost perspective).

Leader in this Industry- Amazing Product

This company is a leader in Software-Defined Storage and is constantly proving their innovative qualities. Pros- Their product is hardware agnostic, so you are never locked in to a particular vendor. The company's storage virtualization software empowers organizations to seamlessly manage and scale their data storage architectures. They have recently announced their new Parallel I/O technology which continues to amaze with its cost savings and increased response times. They have achieved an SPC-1 world record. Definitely worth looking into.

DataCore SANsymphony-V Storage Services Platform

Combines storage virtualization and comprehensive storage services into a full blown software-defined storage platform. Easy to download and auto-configurator for simple deployment. Works with any hypervisor and hardware agnostic. Best of all , easy to go to the site and download and try it with your existing storage investments.
