Pros:

Makes it easy to ship packages. It connects with your website to go ahead and pull your orders in and helps to make it easier to ship.

Cons:

Costs have gone up and options are limited. The cost to ship items have increased a lot and some options have been removed to go ahead and ship so makes it tougher to pick a carrier.

Best value out there, but worse product than Shipstation

We've used them for years because they offer great rates. However, if Shipstation offered the same rates we'd definitely prefer Shipstation over Shippo

Pros:

Their carrier negotiated rates are the best we've found. The API works well and makes it easy to compare rates and ship internationally. Support is generally pretty good

Cons:

The web portal is much worse than Shipstations. They also do a bad job of associating orders with shipments and viewing things you do via the API in the web portal.

Reasons for choosing Shippo

We use both Shippo and Shipstation. Shipstation is a better product, but Shippo is cheaper in many cases

Pros:

It is so easy to fill out the form and see what my best shipping options are. Once I have printed my shipping label I can request pick up from USPS. It makes shipping so much easier than it used to be.

Cons:

I've had numerous added charges for shipping. USPS saying the package weighed more than I entered. I know this happens but the charges are from months ago (sometimes 4 to 5 months later). So it is hard to follow ups on.

Great Software for Integrating Shipping for a Small Business!

As a small business, it is very important for me to save time and money whenever possible, and I think that Shippo was not just the best option for my business in terms of services provided, but also the most cost effective and easy to implement.

Pros:

I use Shippo as an integration with Wix, and the process of adding the extension was simple, easy, and efficient. Once integrated with my website, Shippo allowed me to seamlessly prepare shipping labels for jewelry orders placed on my website.

Cons:

During the set-up process I encountered a small bug in the integration, but upon reaching out to Shippo support, the issue was quickly addressed and I was able to move forward. I have not encountered any further bugs.

The only "con" is NOT using Shippo

Imagine for a moment you are at a 6-star beach resort on a gorgeous archipelago somewhere. You arrived on a private jet and have been picked up in a limo of your choosing. You are now walking along the beach with sandals in one hand an oversized umbrella and a fruit-laden cocktail in the other. Dolphins are leaping out of the water a few feet (meters) from shore. The sun is reflecting off the crystal blue water. The blood orange and yellow shimmer dances gayly on top of the waves...u get it I think!!!

Pros:

Super easy to use and set up and link your various shipping accounts. They make it almost whimsically easy to "test" the product with a forever free account. Savings for free and paid accounts are the same. Today (May 20, 2021) I saved 32% on USPS and a whopping 62% on UPS!! I have been typically just printing labels from the namesake sites and thought the claims of savings were "up to" claims and the reality was going to be fairly negligible. Think eBay and then they turn around a charge you for buying shipping through them completely negating or making it more expensive to ship through eBay. NOT Shippo! Not only is it free and commission-free but they REALLY do have great rates and the savings are LEGIT not "UP TO" BS but real money! Heck if you are an eBay seller you would be foolish if you didn't give Shippo a whirl! So, in short, I love the money I save, the ease of set-up and use and the customer support is fast and furious. I HATE bot customer support in general but Shippo is pretty, pretty, pretty good too!

Cons:

Overall with the free account that I have, I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about it. If I wanted to channel my inner "Karen" I could groan loudly in my best Jewish whine, I want to integrate more shipping channels without paying to upgrade, but free UPS and USPS are good enough for my needs!

Reasons for choosing Shippo

ShipHero struck me as more commercially. Not sure. Just didn't feel like it was quite the right fit and I wasn't much for them as my needs are onesie twosies vs. lots of packages every day out the door. Stamps.com - expensive and their integrations kinda sucked or were a pain in the petunias to set-up. (Mind you, my patience is ZERO when stuff doesn't go smoothly) so no offense to stamps.com or the users that love them.

Reasons for switching to Shippo

The redonkulous cost savings vs. buying direct with the above carriers.

I enjoy the how easy it if to just create a label while processing shipments. I also enjoy how it check our address.

Cons:

I do not enjoy international shipping. We do not have weight for all our products so we tend to use worldship for our international shipping

A place to ship from multiple online marketplaces.

I used shipstation for a long time until I realized how much it was costing. I heard shippo did the same thing but was cheaper so I switched my business from shipstation to shippo. I sell on eBay Amazon and shopify

Shippo: NO INSURANCE ON INTERNAL DAMAGE

I shipped a few dozen packages with Shippo and although the price was low as soon as I had a claim with Disc Drives that filed during shipping I discovered the Insurance exception that they will not pay for any damage claim unless the damage is visible externally. this means it would be unwise to send any of the following using Shippo: Computers, Computer Monitors Printers Disk Drives TVs Speakers Amplifiers Receivers Cell Phones Watches Headphones Kitchen Appliances Drones Electric Fans Window Air Conditioners Quite a list, don't you think and much of what I send would be on this list so I can no longer use Shippo since any internal damage would not be covered.

To clarify, our policy includes an exclusion for electrical and/or mechanical derangement. This means that damages to internal components that do not show external damage are not covered. We do understand the inconvenience this may cause, but want to share that this exclusion is a standard practice in the industry to prevent claims on pre-existing damages. As such, this type of coverage is commonly excluded across most shipping insurance providers. While a lot of the items you listed-- like disk drives, laptops, LCDs, and TVs--are not covered for damage, they are still covered for loss or theft. Shippo is easy and affordable

We use this to ship merchandise from our webstore. Printing labels from home and dropping off at post office with no intereaction.

Save Money on your Shipping Labels.

I love shippo, because even when you save some a dollar for each shipping label, it adds up, and when you have hundreds of orders you can easily save hundreds of dollars.
