Vinchin Backup & Recovery is an enterprise level data protection solution that provides comprehensive, cost-optimized, highly scalable backup and recovery strategy for your business-critical data across on-premises, off-site, hybrid, and multi-cloud environment.

Vinchin Backup & Recovery protects multiple business workloads with all-in-one solution including VMware, Hyper-V, XenServer, XCP-ng, oVirt, RHV, Oracle OLVM, Sangfor HCl, OpenStack, Huawei FusionCompute, H3C CAS/UIS, ZStack, Proxmox, Oracle DB, MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Postgres Pro, MariaDB, Windows and Linux physical machines, file shares/NAS, etc.

Support LAN-free(SAN) VM backup and restore that backup data will directly flow from production storage to backup storage without passing through hypervisor layer and the production network to eliminate impact for business critical services.
Support multiple data transmission modes, including LAN transmission, dedicated backup network transmission, HotAdd transmission(for VMware), direct NFS access, LAN-Free transmission, multi-threaded data transmission and proxy transmission.

Support CBT/Speedkit for fast and efficient incremental backup.

Support AES-256 bank-level...

 encryption algorithm to encrypt backup data in the storage, effectively ensuring the security of backup data. Support 3 advanced data reduction features which are deduplication, compression and BitDetector for effective backup storage savings. Deduplication and BitDetector work to detect duplicate data blocks, swap files, partition gaps and unpartitioned spaces to remain only 100% valuable written data in backup repository, and compression works to minimize backup data size. Support GFS(long-term) retention policy to retain full backup point by week, month or year to comply with related laws or regulations. Support VMware VM backup data verification periodically using ping, heartbeat and screenshot method and send report to designated email box automatically. Support agentless V2V(virtualization to virtualization) backup and instant V2V recovery among all Vinchin supported virtual platforms. 3-2-1 backup strategies: Vinchin Backup & Recovery offers offsite disaster recovery and backup cloud archive strategies. Backups or copies can be sent to a second storages and archive to cloud for disaster recovery or long-term retention needs. Anti-Ransomware Protection: Support anti-ransomware storage protection and data encryption for backup data and pre-recovery backup data verification. Fast and flexible recovery: Vinchin Backup & Recovery provides multiple recovery ways including full recovery, instant recovery, file-level recovery, V2V(virtual machine to virtual machine) migration and recovery, and bare metal recovery. Vinchin Backup & Recovery adopts B/S architecture management interface. No need to install client management software. Adopt wizard backup/restore job configuration management. The Instant VM Restore feature is a top-rated pro. It allows you to boot a failed VM directly from its backup file in as little as 15–60 seconds. This is a lifesaver for meeting strict RTO (Recovery Time Objective) targets during hardware failures or ransomware attacks.
Cons:
If the backup server is not over-provisioned, the deduplication and compression engines can occasionally cause a "bottleneck" during peak backup windows, potentially slowing down other administrative tasks within the Vinchin console.

Vinchin Backup is easy to use, easy to configure and deploy. since last week they implement some very useful features like save your backup to S3 and Huawei Cloud OBS.
Cons:
Well, just like any Virtual Appliance, when we have power failure, we lost the Vinchin license. but the support always available to help.

I had a warning message with the M365 backup and wanted to know what was affected, but each time I got the message, report has expired. Also, sometimes the repository disables itself, which prevents backups, but there is no way to understand why this happens.

It is a functional product. Backup and restore works fine across virtualization platform. Essential features are on par with other backup software. It is catching up with other major player.

Does all the essential backup and recovery operation such as VM backup, application aware backup, instant restore and normal restore. Major features that are available in other software backup is available with or without work around. We have tested several backup and recovery scenarios and found that Vinchin is able to perform well. Even Vinchin has other solution such as business continuity plan. The license is economical if you only need backup and recovery solution. If you have China-based virtualization software, most likely Vinchin is the only software capable of backup via hypervisor level. Vinchin can be used as a migration tools as well. We got it for free. If you purchase Vinchin Backup & Recovery, migration is free once per license.
Cons:
In my experience, in some hypervisor and for some operation Vinchin requires agent to be run. I wanted them to run without any agent, but it's okay as long as it works.
