About Salon Booking System

Salon Booking is an appointment booking system that helps businesses get more reservations on the business' website without wasting time with paper-based schedules. The software targets hairdressers, salons, barbershops, tutors, car shops, massage therapists and spas.

Administrators can create multiple discount codes for salon bookings to increase the incentive for customers to book appointments. It also has an archive of customers that allows users to track customers, view history and review customer feedback.

The back-end bookings calendar allows the administrator to perform a quick overview of all the bookings made by clients. Salon Booking features two-way Google Calendar synchronization that helps manage reservations on the administrator’s Google Calendar account. Additionally, this functionality helps ensure all appointments are visible at all times.

Great plugin

After COVID19 we need to shedule and limit the access into our structure. Thanks to the plugin we have solved all the users' waiting problems, guaranteeing them distance and safety

Great scheduling tool which allows you to even get new clients

I really like that there are many options and features. I like that you can understand it fast, no fuss. Setting appointments is fast; a highlight is when you use Treatwell you can also get new clients, it's a great bonus.

A lot of features and the utilisation is very intuitive. Calendar plus treatwell marketing options is a great combination.

Cons:

I can't do a search for keywords that were written in the appointment notes, that is sometimes unfortunate.

Reasons for switching to Salon Booking System

i didn't appreciate their prices and some of their options. Not possible if you share premises with another independant service provider. Each service provider MUST have their own premises. I find that restrictive.

The plugin would have great potential if it would function reliably.

The plugin used to be good with a few small errors. Today, it is almost unusable, as the developer has not provided a solution for several weeks.

At first, I was very satisfied with the plugin and could rely on it for the most part. It helped me with my work and was positively received by my clients.

Cons:

Since January 2025, the plugin has been very unreliable. Constantly, new errors are popping up. My clients and I are very frustrated. I have heard from the developer that the issue is known and they are working on it. However, after 4 weeks, there is still no improvement. Clients are not able to see my availability and as a result, they are leaving my website. This is damaging to my business and I have to consider using a different booking app. I am very disappointed.

The best booking-system

I am very happy with this booking system. It allows my customers and me a great experience with bookings, service-overview, email follow-up and schedule. The features I need are available, regular updates and the team is quick to help with any problems/requests.

Pros:

I love how many useful features for my salon there are. The email follow-ups with confirmation/reminders are great. The team is also very effective to help with requests/problems. Useful newsletter with regular feature updates. Price is within my budget, would actually love to buy life-time access and I would highly recommed to anyone who needs an affordable booking system. This system allows my customers an easy booking experience and saves me time once set up. Appointment management is good, customers can cancel on their own through email or log-in and book a new slot. The customer base is also great, where I can add notes to each client and remember all the important details between appointments, and contact info. New customers also finds my booking system through google and instagram-link and can book appointments without even talking to me, which has automated business growth. Learning curve: In the beginning it took some time to get into the system, but it is very worth it to get the most use of the features and have a great system for bookings, prices, duration of appointments, customers, holidays/schedule etc.

Cons:

Compared to another norwegian system I do not get the same visibility among norwegian customers (this is not a search engine for norwegian customers to find my salon/my services as well), however the other system is more expensive and their other features/follow up is not as good fit for my salon as salon booking system. I would also like an easier way to place discounts within a time frame/campaign period for service categories or individual services, where the customers can see before price and an icon with percentage off/sale. Would like to have the service-/booking-price included in details when I add the booking to my google calendar. I also would like to choose the right timezone for Norway in the booking system. I also want a button where customers has to accept the salon-policy when booking or if I add the booking for them, instead of only have the possibility to read it.

It was easy to set up and easy to use. My team took to it quickly and it made scheduling conficts disappear in a hurry.

Cons:

There was nothing that I liked least. If I had to say one thing it was the time slots and figuring out time available was a bit confusing at first.

Intelligent Appointment Booking

Salon Booking System, easy and simpel to use

I've been using the SBS now for 2 years and I will extend the plan the next time too. My only "Cons" i've already written and I hope this will be solved soon. Overall I like using the system

The booking system is easy to use and works well for our customers. There are many futures to add a lot (unlimited) products/treatments

Cons:

There are 2 things what's missing or not clear: 1. In 2 years time of using SBS it's still not possible to make 2 (or more) bookings of the same product at the same time. Customers can only make a note about this; 2. When you use the Multi-shop add-on, it's not always clear what settings goes first. The ones from the multi-shop or the single shop

A time-saving solution with the possibility of further improvement

My experience with Salon Booking has been generally positive. The system streamlines what used to be a tedious process of calling and waiting in line. I especially appreciate being able to book appointments at any time of day and receive instant confirmations. While there are some technical issues that need attention and some features I'd like to see implemented, the core functionality works well enough for me to continue using it.

I really appreciated the intuitive interface that makes booking appointments quick and hassle-free. The real-time availability calendar is excellent for avoiding double bookings, and the automatic confirmation emails provide great peace of mind. Most importantly, having 24/7 access to make reservations without having to call during business hours.

Cons:

The mobile app has parts that are not translated into Spanish. The calendar sometimes experiences slow loading times, particularly during busy periods.

The Salon Booking system is easy to use for both staff and clients. I can modify the availability of staff and change appointments if necessary

Cons:

It has a couple of bugs in the blocking off time section where I cannot just block off a couple of hours of availability. The work around is to create a holiday for the time, but it's a clumsy work around.
