Outstanding Small Business Software

Overall Contractor Foreman has been amazing since we changed over from our previous software (Sage 100 Contractor). Its great to have everything in once place and its easy to keep track of everything.

Just about everything. We love how easy it is to manage the projects with all the costs, time used, estimates, and invoices all in one place. The price it costs for the software is also very cheap compared to other similar software. The customer support has been amazing, I have to wait a minute at most to get someone in their chat to help me out when I need it.
Cons:
When making very large estimates the software slows down a lot and it can be hard to navigate since it starts to really chuck along to get everything loaded.

Reasons for choosing Contractor Foreman

It had the best price point and we were able to try it for free to make sure it met all our needs before we bought it.

Reasons for switching to Contractor Foreman

Sage 100 Contactor didn't track time in the software easily and didn't do the taxes correctly for payroll.

Great Software. Great company to work with.

Contractor Foreman is pretty amazing when you look at the value for the money. It's robust in it's ability and one of the most cost effective project mgmt packages we've seen. I love the personalized service, (surprising to find company owners who will personally communicate with the end user), as well as the common sense approach to the basic design and function.

Pros:
Easy to set up and intuitively structured to the construction industry. Consistent menus and options throughout the modules. Dramatically cheaper than our former project mgmt software and honestly we find this software better suited to our needs. Great for cost plus builders. Customer support is a joy to work with. Data is easy to store and access. Great reporting options.
Cons:
Bidding works, however it's a bit buried in the estimates module. A few adjustments, such as direct chat or email with bidding parties would make it even better.

Reasons for switching to Contractor Foreman

After 10 years as a customer, Buildertrend decided to double our fees in one pass. We had several problems with the mobile app uploading daily log pics and accessing data remotely. The additional cost with these issues made the decision for us.

They just keep getting better

Contractor foreman is an all-in-one platform that covers almost everything I need for all of my projects.
Cons:
Can improve with AIA billing, which is the standard billing system in the USA. Right now, I'm using WerxApp to do all my AIA billing which is great but then I have to manually enter in the percentages In Contractor foreman.

Pricing and the fact that it had everything I needed and more.

Reasons for switching to Contractor Foreman

ESUB was very limited to what it does and doesn't come close to Contractor Foreman. ESUB was more for daily reports and purchase orders.

It has help us manage our business processes better. It has simplified how we manage our projects all the way from estimating to invoicing. We now have a much clearer view of where all of our projects are at. Would recommend this especially if you are trying to manage all of your workflow using spreadsheets.
Cons:
More automation within the system would be better so that things can happen in the background without you having to manually do everything.

How easy it is to navigate and if you need help support is ready to jump in a help. People dont talk enough about how helpful the support is. They will give you as much time as you need. They will go out of their way to get you all the training you want. They will call and check on you and make sure you are using it to its full potential.
Cons:
The only thing I havent like about Contractor Foreman is taking the little time to learn it. That's just because I dont always love learning new software, especially when I am used to another one, but I was pleasantly surprised. Contractor Foreman was one of the easiest platforms to use.

Reasons for switching to Contractor Foreman

It did not have the same capabilities and we had to purchase other platforms in order to handle all of our needs.

Cons:
needs to update and not look like its from windows 2000. needs more customization, need a better way to write estimates for people that dont itemize everything. also a better flow between leads, estimates, projects, etc. a way to show the break down of draws in the estimate as well

The time tracking is simple for crews to use in the field, and it ties directly into job costs so we can see labor expenses in real time. This has made it much easier to track productivity, compare estimated vs. actual costs, and keep projects on budget. For concrete work where labor, equipment, and timing are critical, Contractor Foreman gives us clear, accurate cost breakdowns and saves a lot of administrative time. Overall, it’s a reliable, cost-effective solution that helps us stay organized and profitable.
Cons:
Contractor foreman has forms and checklists that you can create, but it would be nice if they were more customizable.
