About GCPay

GCPay is a payment management solution that helps construction enterprises manage calculations, payment applications, remittances and lien waivers via a unified portal. It offers a host of features such as document storage, remote access, role-based permissions, contact management and more.

The application lets teams create automated workflows, handle contractor/subcontractor payments, and reject or approve applications in real-time. It enables administrators to notify subcontractors about payment applications via email reminders and automatically collects compliance documents before the submission of applications and send alerts about the expiry of documents to subcontractors.

GCPay supports integration with various third-party ERP applications such as Sage, CMiC and Viewpoint. Additionally, supervisors can generate billing summary, monitor approved/pending applications and export reports for further reference.

Game Changer

Absolutely wonderful and quick Customer Service. I would go as far as to say GCPay has the best Customer Service I have experienced in both my personal and professional life. Every company should provide Customer Service like GCPay.

Pros:

Having constraints in place for Compliance and unapproved Change Orders has been a game changer for our company.

Cons:

Subcontractors who have endless contacts listed in the GCPay Directory. Oftentimes we don't know who is going to be doing the billings for a specific project to get them added. It seems like we could add them on a company basis and then let the subcontractor sort out who is owning a specific project.

GCPay Usage from AR Prospective.

Pros:

GCPay is something that is used based on some of our customers that use this option for submitting AR invoices. Compared to other options, I find that GCPay easy to use and the process does not take up much additional time.

Cons:

I see the features and the reason some of our customers use this, but my initial thoughts of using seemed like additional work to process AR invoices, with no benefit for this service.

Efficient for Payment Processing

GCPay makes subcontractor billing straightforward and organized. We especially like the automated workflows for pay apps and lien waivers, plus the visibility it provides across approvals. It reduces back-and-forth emails and centralizes all necessary compliance documents in one place. The dashboard also gives a quick snapshot of outstanding items, which is helpful for tracking.

Overall, I am very happy with GCPAY performance and streamlining. The biggest compliment I could give GCPAY is if I went to another GC that didn't have it, I would immediately try and get it there.

Pros:

The amount of time saved on subcontract billing documents is tremendous. We speculated we would save a few days a month worth of work, but it was substantially better. The reduction of errors on waivers made a huge impact.

Cons:

The only compliant I really have about GCPAY is sometimes the reports are not exactly the way I want them. If they added a custom report manager so you can make your own reports from the data, it would be amazing.

Super Support Staff = Easy to Use

The easiest software to implement, helps save our company so much time chasing compliance documents down and correct mathmatical errors on pay applications submitted outside of GCpay.

Pros:

Incredibly helpful real-time support. Easy platform that is worth every penny. Setup is simple, easy to follow.

Cons:

I really can't say I dislike anything. If I absolutely had to pick something then I'd have to go with something like I don't like that use the color orange in their logo.

Make the switch!

Overall, we have been with GCPAY for many years and we love it. It far above the other programs we have seen that are said to be comparable.

Pros:

My favorite features are the ease of use as a GC but also the ease of use for our subcontracts. E waivers options are great, love requiring a sub to sign lien waivers before submitting a pay apps, it totally eliminates lien waiver follow up. ACH payments to subs are great!

Cons:

We have had some issues with the timeliness of our funds we send to be used for ACH payments being properly distributed by Fastpay.

Reasons for choosing GCPay

Better options and the program overall was more "built out" at the time. Compliance management was better.

Reasons for switching to GCPay

Wanted to eliminate manual data entry of pay applications.

Great product!

My overall experience with GCPay has been great. It's streamlined our month-end billing process significantly, eliminated a significant amount of manual tracking, and helped us keep organized throughout the job cycle

Pros:

The transparency GCPay provided between subcontractors and the general contractor is excellent. From schedule of values, pay apps, COIs and lien waivers, it's always clear what the expectations are, who's court the ball is in, and due dates, which make our processes rule smooth

Cons:

The out of the box reports serve their purpose, but the lack of customization available for inquiries and reports is less than ideal. I really wish there was a inquiry or report builder feature

Procore was more expensive and wasn't as user friendly. Procore also has terrible support compared to GCPay's top level support team

GCPay is Awesome!

We have been using GCPay for several years and it has been a lifesaver. The time saved using GCPay is critical, especially when working on several Pay Applications per month - at the same time of the month. I rely very heavily on GCPay, and their support. GCPay Support is one of the very best. They are incredibly responsive and knowledgeable.

Pros:

What I like best about GCPay is that it removes a great deal of the human error from the subcontractor billing process. Subcontractors Schedule of Values MUST equal their subcontract value. Their math always adds up on their billings. There are no missing formulas. They cannot overbill a line item or bill for change orders that aren't approved. All of this has saved countless hours of accounting time on our part. Also, having the integration with Intacct is crucial to us being able to use GCPay. [sensitive content hidden] and the entire team were very helpful to us in converting the integration from Sage 300 to Intacct.

Cons:

I have been asking GCPay for a while to improve their sub-tier/supplier management. I know that they have made improvements. It is now on me to explore those improvements to determine if it will fit our needs. We would also like GCPay to consider reducing the price of ACH payments. We appreciate that they offer this service, but it could get expensive for us and/or our subcontractors.

Textura is expensive and wasn't as user friendly when we looked at it several years ago.

Cons:

I don't have any cons right now, I would say there have been a couple technical issues but they were resolved quickly.

Wright Brothers made the switch and I am glad they did.
