About Opendock

Opendock has made work a lot easier to manage and organize the docks in the warehouse. We can actually see who has an appointment and who doesn't.

Pros:
I like how you can manage your appointments with ease and include crucial information that will help check them in or have the driver check in themselves. Booking has also been easy for carrier to make. Learning the system is easily and simple. Does take some adjustment but after a couple days it's easy.
Cons:
currently there isn't anything that i don't like about opendock. If i had to choose one thing to be picky about is the yard management don't come included but that's understandable.

Nice scheduling UI that is constantly improving through feedback

Overall experience has been positive. It will be exponentially better when we can edit auto SMS messages or just disable them completely to reduce/eliminate driver confusion.

Pros:
I like the user friendly UI and the way you have the option to view as a grid or list. The universal search option use to be buggy but it has been ironed out significantly. Their customer service and transparency of updates/issues has been very nice as well. My favorite thing has to be the "reserve" feature for appointments, including the ability to create reoccurring reserves. This paired with the ability to export this data into a csv that I can provide to clients has streamlined standing appointment scheduling and even grown our business with those clients.
Cons:
I don't like how the entire screen with refresh after any change is made by a user. My coworkers and I have lost numerous appointment notes due to this. I am also not a fan of the fact that we cannot disable/edit the text of the SMS notifications that are sent to drivers after they complete the self check-in. This is the most frustrating aspect, as the message they currently receive implies that we will reach out to them to provide them with the next steps. However, we need them to stay in the lobby so we can verify their info, their reefer temps, and assign them a dock door.

Meh! Could be better if the people who actually deal with the schedule, were the admins instead of the GM (wth??)

That I can see who schedules as well as schedule myself.
Cons:
I was originally the Admin and then all of a sudden I can't make changes. The General Manager, who has absolutely nothing to do with the schedule or otherwise, is now the admin. Can't get it changed back. That is not a job under his title, that is mine. I can't make it effective for us to work with our schedule, so it's good, but more bad bcuz I can't help carriers or change the format of the schedule to what my facility needs.

Reasons for switching to Opendock

Company did it, not individual facilities.

What I like most about Opendock is how user-friendly it is. The system is intuitive and easy to navigate, which makes it simple to move around within the program. The layout is clear and organized, allowing me to quickly find what I need and complete tasks efficiently without unnecessary steps.
Cons:
What I like least about Opendock is that sometimes it takes extra time to search for the information I need. I often have to click around or look through multiple areas before finding the details I’m looking for, which can slow down the process. Having the information more centralized or easier to access would make the system even more efficient.

Pros:
Carriers are able to book appointments according to the appointment slots available. Which is efficient as this eliminate the exchange of emails.
Cons:
Carriers sometimes have difficulty rescheduling appointments, they ten need to reach out to us to reschedule their appointments.

I enjoy the comprehensive dashboard allowing an overall view of the day's scheduled activities at a quick glance. I also like the reporting capabilities that are easily exportable allowing us to share key metrics with our partners.
Cons:
I wish there was an option to limit access to a particular customer within a carrier's login at a specific facility. The issue we run into is there are multiple vendors housed within the same building so we sometimes have a carrier book an appointment under the incorrect dock.

Helpful but Could Be Smoother

Overall, my experience with Opendock has been pretty good. It makes managing deliveries and tracking orders much easier, and I like how it keeps everything in one place. There are a few small issues like occasional slowness or confusing features, but nothing too major. Mostly, it’s been helpful and saves me time.

I really liked that Opendock is pretty easy to use and makes tracking deliveries simpler. It saves time and I don’t have to keep calling around to know where things are. Sometimes it’s a bit slow, but overall it helps a lot.
Cons:
The thing I liked least is that sometimes Opendock can be a bit slow or laggy, especially when there’s a lot of data. Also, a few features are not very intuitive, so it takes some time to figure out.

Appointment management is very user friendly. Whether you are booking an appointment, changing one or even collaborating with others to accomplish tasks.
Cons:
Having to continually reset my dates on the Search appointments page. Wishing there was a "quick" login when I bring up the platform.
