About Dropbox Business

Dropbox is a cloud-based file sharing software system that caters to individuals and businesses of all sizes. This solution allows users to share files and send file requests to people even if they don’t have a Dropbox account. Multiple users can leave comments on files and can collaborate with Microsoft Office.

The solution can recover deleted files and maintains version histories in case users want to recover old file versions. It also keeps track of all actions performed on specific files.

Advanced sharing enables only selected users to see important files, and files can be remotely wiped if sensitive data gets compromised. Dropbox can also back up all photos as they are added.

Dropbox also provides an admin panel to control files centrally. User licenses, content and access permissions can be transferred from one user to the other.

Pros:

This continues to be an intuitive and easy product to use, for sharing files across multiple users. I use it for multiple organizations that I'm a part of.

Cons:

To date I haven't found a way for multiple people to edit the same document while changes are saved in realtime.

Pros:

The storage space was excellent, and each account has its own independent storage allocation. On the other hand, the platform offers great versatility in accessing your files and an easy way to collaborate with your co-workers.

Cons:

Some features are hidden during the account setup process, so be careful not to accidentally synchronize your cellphone photos.

A Once-Revolutionary Platform Stuck in the Past

Drag and Drop, and sharing. That's about it.

Cons:

Dropbox felt revolutionary when it first came out. But it seemed to just stop improving or gaining any sort of upgrade several years ago. Its UI remained the same, reminiscent of the 2009 Hipster moment. Every time I would talk to a rep about what we were looking for in a tool, they would tell us it would be coming, and then it never did. There was no simple tagging of key words or metadata on files/photos to make it simple to find what we were looking for. We were using this for Digital Asset Management and it was incredibly lacking in that arena.

Dropbox is great product for midsize business

I have been a long time user starting as a free retail user to upgrading to the full business version. I ahve been very happy about the process.

Cons:

Unfortunately, not a lot of other large companies use dropbox. It has a reputation as a cheaper retail product despite its efficiency.

inexpensive and offers great functionality at the computer and mobile device level including sharing documents outside our organization.

Cons:

had a hard time with deciphering were our documents were it backed up our local computer files making it a difficult but we figured it out

I got amazing features over here. I save my docs in the simplest way and it’s permission control is much better than others.

Pros:

The ability to upload and share quickly is a key feature. Uploading and downloading files seemed reasonably fast compared to some other platforms.

Cons:

Managing folders and searching for files was a little harder then expected. Also constant reminders about getting close to limits, and reminder to upgrade.

Reasons for choosing Dropbox Business

At the time and the limited features that we needed Dropbox just worked for us, most of the company was using it personally for other things so it was an easy fit.
