About Built

With functionality for employee recordkeeping, PTO tracking, recruiting, and more, Built for Teams offers a web-based HR platform that is ideal for small to mid-sized companies in the U.S.

Along with detailed digital records of all company personnel and an interactive, shareable organization chart that is always up-to-date, the platform features I-9 and employee agreement tracking. It also offers detailed employee and company metrics on turnover, demographics, compensation, and more.

Collaboration is the focus, as Built for Teams allows multiple users to share and shortlist job candidates for open positions. Employees can access the system to submit time-off requests, view their PTO balances, and more.

Custom fields can be added to employee profiles for added flexibility, and equipment tracking ensures that employee laptops and other office equipment are accounted for. Company directories will remain updated and vacation accrual rates can be set at an employee or organizational level.

Pricing for Built for Teams is based on a per-employee, per-month basis.

BFT works great for keeping track of our growing team!

Pretty good and reliable program. Like being able to use remotely. And it is fairly user-friendly.

Pros:

Two things: 1) Ability to add / edit PTO requests easily; and 2) Ability to see my team's travel and PTO on my Outlook Calendar.

Cons:

Had to get a link from the Admin to add to my calendar - other software offer the Outlook calendar links within the settings. However, once received, it works every time. Also, all of the colors can be overwhelming, but once you understand them, it's not too bad.

Reasons for switching to Built

PML was not as versatile for the team platform. It's been so long I honestly don't remember much about it, other than it being cumbersome.

It's a great feature to keep the calendar view containing only what is relevant to that employee, department, team or admin. Good pricing, ease of use, allowed many different PTO buckets, which met our need for a flexible WFH program tracked here. A company wide calendar so that everyone can know where their colleagues are.

Cons:

It has a nice user platform and it is very easy to use.

Reasons for choosing Built

It was well over a year ago so I do not recall all the options considered, but it was many.

Reasons for switching to Built

This product meets our needs and the other did not.

This is solving the issue of having someone track all employees paid time off.

Built for teams is one of the best software inventions. Instead of using wonky systems, such as Excel spreadsheets, you can track employees (and your) paid time off, sick time, etc.

Cons:

I don't have anything negative to say about Built for Teams, it's insanely easy to use, I suggest it to all HR managers.

Best PTO Software for Price & Ease

I, and my co-workers, are very happy with the Built For Teams platform! It was so easy to set up initially compared to the previous program we had and to anything else I had demo’d available on the market. It continues to meet our needs as we grow. I also feel very supported by the BFT team and the articles available on the BFT Help site.

Pros:

Customization and versatility is great, Many reports & setup options. Easiest to use, implement, teach, andfor managers to respond quickly that I found anywhere. The price is amazing for all that it can do!The customer support is fabulous, and the "Help" articles they offer make it easy to understand and do many things on your own.

Cons:

The report creation is a little tricky, and finding what you're looking for sometimes challenging

Reasons for choosing Built

The others came loaded with options we had no intention of using. They didn't offer a "lite" version so we would have been paying for things we had no intention of using, or would have to set up just to get what we did want. That wasn't going to help us with our wants or needs. It is good to know Built For Teams does have the ability to add on features and upgrade if we want to go that way.

Reasons for switching to Built

Better price, ease of use. Didn't need a lot of add-on features we wouldn't use. We could keep it scaled for our needs.

The UI is intuitive and easy to use. The system operates quickly and is not glitchy.

Cons:

I wish I could request only a few hours off, but am restricted to either a full day or a half day. But we make it work!

Reasons for switching to Built

Zenefits was really glitchy for managing vacation time.

To address time increments, Built for Teams can allow employees to take time off in either 1-minute increments, 30-minute increments, as well as half-day or full day increments. These are settings configured by your account admin depending on the policies or preferences of the organization.

It's easy to use for employees as well as administrators and made tracking time for our company a breeze.

Cons:

The accrual date can be a bit confusing if it is changed for the first week after the change occurs.
