About QuickBooks Time

QuickBooks Time is a cloud-based time tracking solution that helps owners and managers keep track of employees in real-time from the web or mobile applications. It provides mobile time tracking for employees who either work remotely or change locations or jobs regularly. Employees use personal devices, such as smartphones, computers, mobile apps, text messages or landlines to clock in and out. Mobile apps are available for Android and iOS.

QuickBooks Time helps users set up overtime alerts for employees, which can help inform managers before overtime starts. Alerts can be sent to employees, administrators or managers via text message, email or Twitter. QuickBooks Time offers a labor expense management module that reports labor expenses, including PTO, overtime and regular time.

QuickBooks Time also provides customizable filters that help capture the exact timesheet information sorted by employee, project, date, group, job code and payroll period. Pricing is per user per month and support is provided via knowledge base, phone and email.

It has been the easiest integration! The platform is incredibly user friendly and fully allows us to track employees timesheets seamlessly!

The platform makes it so easy to manage employee timesheets and allows all employees mobile access via the mobile app.

Cons:

No cons so far! Our team has fully adopted the platform and is using it currently with ease! Our accountant can easily track multiple timesheets with ease!

Integrated one stop shop

Overall I have used Quickbooks for years. Time module I have used for over a year. Generally it works fine.

Pros:

QuickBooks is large integrated app. That’s why I use their Time app too. It seems to serve the purpose and makes payroll easy.

Cons:

Time App seems like a patch of 3-4 different generations. It gets messed up quite easily, if an employee forgets to check out on time.

Reasons for switching to QuickBooks Time

Trinet had suddenly increased the cost too much and they did not have accounting software

Time Tracking Tool

Good to get away from the paper timecards and move onto a digital version. Easy, straightforward and integrates into QuickBooks accounting too!

Great program that allows PM's to know realtime which staff are on site, which hours they work, and helps with employee accountability

Cons:

There are some restrictions to the time app however its a straightforward program that you can certainly make work for any company.

There wasn't many but there were some items but they really don't stick out too much on the negative.

A Timely Opinion

My overall experience is very positive, we transitioned from a different time tracking application and using quickbooks time has given us more value for our investment.

Pros:

What I really appreciate about using quickbooks time is that whether me or my team are at a site or out of the office we can track the time that we are working and it eliminates having to document it on paper. It is very friendly for our team to use as well.

Cons:

One of the issues that we do come across is that it tends to glitch when we are out in the field and then my workers have to completely close the app and restart it. not sure why that is, but maybe finding a solution for this would boost productivity.

It was becoming too expensive for the limited features it had and its capabilities.

I like QuickBooks Time because it gives me easy access to the money I earn from my job, and it’s also helpful for managing my W-2s

Cons:

I have not had any problems with QuickBooks. It is always helpful, including the tools it provides beyond just payroll.

A FRIENDLY USER SOFTWARE

I learned Quickbooks many years ago since it was introduced, quckbooks is first accounting software that i used.it is very easy to use, like posting and processing reports

Perfect if you’re unorganized like me but don’t want to undercharge

Use it everyday for years. Can’t live without it. I use it to track time and sync with QuickBooks for invoices. It shows right up in your invoice and all you have to do is push a button to add it to the invoice.

The billing component of this app keeps me organized. Left to my own, I’d lose track of hours and undercharge. This app makes tracking hours and syncing it with invoices simple.

Cons:

I’m completely satisfied with QuickBooks time. It has simplified my life, kept me organized and ensures I’m paid properly for billable hours.
