About MindMeister

MindMeister is a cloud-based solution that helps businesses manage innovation pipelines through brainstorming, collaboration, visualization and more. Key features include idea ranking, status tracking, activity dashboard and chat.

Designed for businesses of all sizes, MindMeister lets users handle assets, documents and external links to share them across teams. It comes with a tool, which allows enterprises to visualize mind maps through presentations and export them via multiple elements. Additionally, the solution enables employees and other stakeholders to operate online brainstorming sessions and make them accessible across remote team members to provide input.

MindMeister’s task manager comes with a drag-and-drop interface, which helps enterprises display innovation projects in Kanban boards and track the progress of team ideas. Mobile applications for Android and iOS devices are offered to remotely manage business activities. It is available on a monthly subscription and support is extended via documentation and other online measures.

Exploring the effectiveness of MindMeister for project management.

MindMeister has been an invaluable tool for my team and for me as a Project Manager. The real-time collaboration feature has significantly improved communication and collaboration between team members, leading to greater efficiency and productivity in our projects. Additionally, the ability to customize mind maps and add images and files has made it easy for us to present and share information clearly and concisely. The variety of mind map templates available in MindMeister has also been a great advantage, allowing us to create mind maps for different purposes and projects with ease.

Pros:

MindMeister has become an indispensable tool for me and my team. The intuitive and user-friendly interface of the software has allowed us to create and share mind maps efficiently and effectively. Cons:

I haven't found anything negative about MindMeister so far. The tool has been very effective in creating and managing mind maps, has significantly improved communication and collaboration between team members, and has improved efficiency and productivity in our projects. While there can always be areas for improvement in any tool, thus far MindMeister has lived up to all of our needs and expectations as a project management tool.

The ease of mapping ideas into clear-cut flow is exceptional; the best part is the customization it brings to idea management.

Cons:

The customization is extensive; making it a touch hard for the first timers to get acclimatized with the product.

Why did they change the best mind mapping app there is?

At this point, I'm very disappointed. It was excellent for brainstorming an enormous thesis project and for designing extensive action research, but the new developments are just extremely disappointing.

This app's functionality and user interfact is second to none. The speed with which you can brainstorm is excellent.

Cons:

I have been stuck in a loop of not being able to connect to my account, getting extremely slow and convoluted customer service, reestablishing access, then losing it again for the last 5 months. I also seriously dislike the new updates. When I started using this service (in grad school), it was absolutely exceptional. I loved being able to make a mind map quickly, then turn it into a presentation on the spot, adjusting the order of the cells as "slides" in the presentation... it was SO useful. Now, they got away from that for some reason.

I was so impressed by the initial intuitive UI. It was exactly what I was looking for.

The Best Mind Cartographer

I do believe after trying many different programs that Mindmeister is the easiest to use and the best looking. It has everything I want in mapping software. It makes a big difference when you are trying to brainstorm. it is simply the best all-around.

I really enjoy the user interface the most. It is easy to use and attractive to the eye. It takes no time at all to make a fun and practical map for my writing.

Cons:

I wish I could buy the software or membership for a one time fee. I use the software randomly for personal reasons than anything so a monthly fee isn't cost-effective for me. But wish I could use the full features whenever I decide to log on.

Reasons for switching to MindMeister

No other program makes it easier to add various branches, create mega trees, functions as smoothly, or looks as good as Mindmeister.

Flexibility matters

Mindmeister works very well to visualize networks. Maybe a 3D-version woud be nice too?

missing option for cross-linking of items without an arrow no adaptation of design of item and subitems more detailed selection of subitems to be included into a slide

Available themes, Tree like structure of mind map and not being able to create graphs of ideas, not using the dimensions efficiently. (x axis may mean depth, y axis may mean breadth)

Unreasonable company to deal with.

I do not recommend MindMeister. We paid for and tested the software and it did not meet our needs. When I was invoiced another 12-months, I requested a refund advising that I had forgot to cancel they refused. As a small business we are now out of pocket for something we aren't going to use. Even if I decide to revisit software like this in future, they will not be on the list.

We tested the software and found it wasn't for us, we had paid for a year however but it sat there and did nothing as we did not use it.

Cons:

Nothing to report on. We just found better software.

I like that the software can save and export maps to Google Drive. I also like that it's flexible in content.

Cons:

I dislike the limited number of maps available in the free account.

Reasons for switching to MindMeister

Lucid places limits on the number of elements in a map. I was using Lucid live, in a lesson, and it prevented me from adding a link and/or a concept.

Not the best product for a casual mapping guy like me

I was trying to solve the first stage of a research project. How to picture the whole process: reading, drafting, and proofreading an academic article. I use maps especially for the drafting part: I sketch the whole article and I include in the map some direct quotes I have to include, which arguments I have to make in every part and so on.

-The best thing was the option of testing the product for free, with up to three maps. -It is also objectively a strength of the app how customizable every map can be. But, as I explain later, that is a little overwhelming for casual, simplistic users like me.

Cons:

The interface is not as smooth and friendly as other mapping apps I have used. There are a lot of options to insert colors, symbols, and images. But, for me, it was distracting and it required a little bit too much of a learning curve. That is why I finally discarded it, after a few tries.

Reasons for switching to MindMeister

I finally did not make the switch. I was testing both, perhaps not at the same time, but I was exploring if there was a better tool. And, well, I stuck to Coggle.
