Powerful and intuitive licensing tool with a promising roadmap

Pros:

The integration process is very smooth, particularly thanks to the well-designed C++ API. Additionally, the development team is highly responsive. Any bugs and new feature requests are addressed quickly, which gives me confidence that the product is moving in the right direction.

Cons:

The default UI webpage currently feels like it could be improved to help with customer and entitlement setup. However, it is clear that this is a work in progress and is being actively updated.

We needed a simplified licensing method to get us started. Flex LM, although a great product, offered more than we needed.

The best thing a CTO could outsource

Extremely positive on the technical side, and they have been supportive on the business side. They are very straightforward and are easy to reach for support. As a product it was easy for our development team to integrate.

Pros:

Rock solid, secure, and very quick to setup and integrate into products. It has worked perfectly since we launched our products three years ago. In three years of business with Nalpeiron, we have had a total of 3 support tickets, which were mostly just questions. We are glad we did not add the unnecessary burden of building in-house, as it meant that we could focus on our actual product. Zentitle benefits you 20+ years of stability from the first day you launch your product.

Cons:

No ability to create custom paid-for trials. Only supports free anonymous trials. A solution for this is that you can create short subscriptions that you can upgrade via an API call into a full license.

Pros:

The customer support team is great. All their responses feel carefully considered and confident, and I've never had to wait too long for a response. Always happy to help, even in the implementation stage. In a particular case where Zentitle lacked the ability to control a feature on our end, the support team was more than happy to facilitate it on their end. The individualized care is what makes Zentitle stand out from other services.

Cons:

The learning curve is somewhat steep, and I have encountered some issues with finding documentation in the past. For a developer juggling many projects, it feels as though one must become a Zentitle expert to properly debug issues.

A software entitlement system that simply works.

I'm happy to recommend Zentitle from Nalpeiron. It simply works. Initial setup many years ago took some time, as we ported the API to our programming language, but the C# examples were most useful.

Pros:

The Zentitle software licensing systems works well for us. We have developed our whole CRM workflow around it and our clients love the simplicity of the entitlement system. This system is robust and Nalpeiron's support and status updates are also excellent.

Cons:

The V10 management interface is getting older, and I have made one suggestion for improvement. New clients should jump straight to Zentitle2.

Positive Experience with Zentitle

Overall though, I am quite happy with Zentitle. It has served its purpose when it comes to license management for our product. We've never had a serious issue with the Zentitle and the customer service has always been great. Our team really values our relationship with Zentitle and we look forward to working together in the future.

Uptime. Zentitle has only gone down once during the entire time our team has used it in our product. The API has also been great. It is fairly easy to integrate and use within our product. There are also several options when it comes to license activation which allows us to provide a solution that works for every customer we have.

Cons:

License management in the online portal. I find it hard to navigate around the website. Its also a little unintuitive when it comes to adding users to groups, managing products and features and managing license codes. The way everything interconnects and is displayed continuously confuses me. Also migrating off of v10 has been a difficult back and forth. We have yet to find a solution to make that possible.

Ease of use and Zentitles support team really make Zentitle stand out as an enjoyable platform to work with and implement

Using Zentitle in a very secure network and industry environment initially caused concern for adaptability, but the longer I worked with the engineering and support team to achieve my goals the easier it became.

Pros:

Zentitle's ease of use in operating their platform both from a developer standpoint as well as a license admin standpoint, makes for a great experience for almost any use case. The biggest 'pro' in working with the Zentitle platform has to be its engineering and support team. Quick turnaround times and constant support reduced any sort of friction in the development cycle, and the willingness of the team to discuss and implement new features to support their customers is truly unique.

Cons:

Feature names such as "Groups", "Entitlements", and "attributes" sometimes make it difficult to present company specific solutions integrated with Zentitle, the ability to fully customize a Zentitle environment with company specific terms and features would really elevate the flexibility of the product.

Zentitle provides a strong and modern licensing platform with powerful API capabilities and good flexibility. The documentation is improving, and the team is responsive, helpful, and open to feedback. The SDK is actively maintained, and new releases address issues quickly. Especially a huge shout out to Paweł for helping us through integration!

Cons:

The C++ SDK had several structural inconsistencies and compiler warnings that made integration harder than expected. Some include paths and build behaviours were confusing at first. Packaging and consistency across platforms could be smoother.

Very flexible license structure. Easy to add customized fields to be accessed in software for controlling feature entitlement for a specific customer.

Cons:

The management portal could benefit from some UX improvements; older design made it a bit confusing to navigate at first.
