About BrightLocal

BrightLocal is a cloud-based local SEO platform designed to help marketing agencies and in-house marketers succeed at local search.

The dashboard allows users to view marketing performance and determine the extent of local search visibility, identify opportunities, and generate custom reports. Users can manage local citations, track NAP issues and duplicate listings, and search for new citation sites.

Users can also track keyword rankings at a city, or zip code level.

BrightLocal’s reputation management tools allow users to request, monitor, and display reviews.

BrightLocal offers integration with third-party platforms such as Google Analytics, AgencyAnalytics, and more. It is available on monthly and annual subscriptions and support is offered online and over the phone.

Pros:

BrightLocal makes it easy to monitor your online reputation across all channels. Everything is under one roof and it's easy to navigate.

Cons:

There is nothing negative about the service in my opinion. I needed a reputation management tool and after evaluating my options, this was the clear winner. Everything works as it is suppose to and customer service is amazing.

Great Local SEO Tool

So far it's been great. Very nice people to deal with.

Pros:

They make importing and setting up new locations a breeze. Great customer support as well. The customer reports and portal are really great as well.

Cons:

I can only track keywords in 1 location, a lot of my clients have small businesses in small towns so they need to have a wide service area. It would be nice to be able to track and produce keyword reports for neighboring towns as well.

An Utter Scam

An utter nightmare! Thanks to them my business is at the verge of collapse! I wish I'd never came across these utter incompetents!

Absolutely Nothing! I wish they would never exist as they have only ruined my business!!!! I was flourishing before meeting these cowboys!

Cons:

They have shut down my account while 7 campaigns were running, and this was due to a fact where they could not understand my basic business need and kept making their point! At Brightlocal is either their way, or your account get shut! No signs of refund at all! The utter shame of the tech industry in 2022. The exact meaning of Scam!

Reasons for choosing BrightLocal

Because I've been fooled by the false positive reviews they have. They very clearly don't even stand close to the rating they have in reality. Their customer support barely understands english and they would pinball you between 8 of them, all which have very little clues about what they are doing!

During a Citation Builder campaign we flagged a potential issue, offering several options for how to proceed. You were not happy with these options & made several requests to close your account & to receive refunds for all campaigns. We granted this as a gesture of goodwill and provided receipts. We hoped this would resolve the issue, however, it is clear that you are still unhappy. We asked what further actions you would like us to take and have received no further suggestions from you, only threats. Please note you have not lost account access; we turned off your automatic subscription renewal, believing this to be what you wanted. You still have full access to your account and all data for the remainder of this billing cycle & if you wish to, you may reactivate it from within your account, which will mean that there is no disruption in service. Thank you

Cons:

No backlink monitoring system yet available for managing / getting backlinks

I made the switch because SEOProfiler does not have Citations, but they do have backlinks management. I still use them until BL has a backlink management system in place.

Pros:

Quality is often overlooked for quantity and mistakenly viewed as expensive. Yet BrightLocal is not expensive but definitely delivers on quality. Before BrightLocal, Local Search Audit and Reputation Manager tools were buried within vast, expensive toolboxes of their competitors. Now, my team can deliver precisely what information my clients need with easy-to-use tools developed for the specific purpose.

Cons:

I think they could expand their services laterally and boost Lead Gen tools, and I would like to see a better account dashboard.

It's a more focused tool, it has quality, it has a great team behind it.

Reasons for switching to BrightLocal

SEMRush is confusing too many tools crammed into a bad interface and way too expensive.

A Wonderful Local SEO Platform for the Cost

We've been using BrightLocal for about 1 year now and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

Pros:

BrightLocal offers incredible details at the base account level. Having additional credits provides further great insights that allow us to see rank changes easier. Primarily, the Citation Builder and management tools are key to our campaigns. They save us a lot of time when it comes to building and cleaning up NAP information.

Cons:

It can be a bit tricky to navigate the dashboard. You get lost since there are so many features and tools at your disposal. Along with this, the system can be slow or inaccurate in findings when it comes to sourcing citations.

Not enough data and too many problems with their API.

It's My Cheapest Employee

These guys are fantastic! The customer support is on the ball, they reach out quickly to address concerns, and make sure that as a customer I feel valued. The platform itself is robust yet beautifully intuitive and simple and makes my clients happy. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Pros:

My favorite aspect of BrightLocal is the auto-generated white-labeled reports. Not only do they provide instant credibility for a smaller agency like mine, but they auto-populate every month with the latest data which frees up my time and helps me focus on growth. Those reports, on top of affordable citation campaigns, make BrightLocal a great employee!

Cons:

I like the ability to integrate the lead generator into my site, however I wish it offered a little. more customization so it would better fit my site's design, but it's a very minor issue.

BrightLocal provides a complete set of tools for managing my own local SEO, but also for running my local SEO agency, from lead gen to managing clients.

Cons:

It takes a little time to figure out the paid credit system, but eventually I did.

Great Customer Service

BrightLocal provided a cost effective way to update our online listings and ultimately help boost our SEO.

Cons:

It wasn't immediately apparent what steps I needed to complete first. After reading a couple of articles and reaching out to their extremely helpful customer service department I was able to get going on the project.

Better pricing and no ongoing contract required. They were also recommended to me by several people who are experts in SEO.

The Best Citation Builder!

The NAP citation building by BrightLocal is by far the best of any company I used. It quickly became apparent that I made the right decision of canceling my Yext subscription and switching over to BrightLocal. I am a repeat customer and a delighted one at that. They are affordable and worth it!

Cons:

The interface could use a little bit of a cosmetic upgrade.
