About AdvancedMD Billing Services

AdvancedMD is a medical office software suite with cloud-based, integrated physician-patient workflow solutions including: practice management/medical billing, electronic health records, telemedicine, patient engagement, practice analytics reporting, and physician-performance benchmarking. Additionally, it offers a managed billing option for practices looking to use a third-party billing company.

AdvancedMD includes tools and technologies to integrate practice and patient workflow together for small to large practices. It also offers onsite and telemedicine appointment scheduling, appointment reminders for patients, automatic insurance eligibility verification for next-day patients, and many more features. The iPad check-in kiosk pushes information from consent forms straight into the patient chart, and charge capture occurs during the charting process and pushes claims information to the billing staff automatically.

The features offered by AdvancedMD are bundled in a fully integrated suite, allowing users to access data via the centrally managed AdvancedMD cloud.

Quality Billing Software for Small Businesses

Overall, AdvancedMD is good software. It is a very useful software that is very affordable. Many small businesses that I know of use it and get the job done with ease and is a great resource for billing. I believe AdvancedMD is a software companies who do not have a large revenue should try for billing, it goes well with Practice Fusion.

Pros:

AdvancedMD was easy to learn and very affordable. The training and customer service staff were friendly and ready to help at a drop of a dime. Even in instances where something was already taught they took care of covering the information quickly and effectively.

Cons:

The reporting system can be a little difficult to figure out, yet once reports are run they do give the information needed to see where your money is lingering.

AdvancedMD Billing Software System

We have been using AdvancedMD for a little over a month but we can tell, already, that this system is much easier to use than any other system we have had in the past. I would recommend this system to anyone looking for a simple, but very efficient system.

Pros:

Very user friendly. Once you have the information put into each patient, it makes it very easy for you to navigate to different fields and put chart notes and charges into the system.

Cons:

Nothing. The system is amazing. Very easy to use and navigate. Input is very simple and charting is the easiest system I've ever used.

We didn't like the Chiro Touch system at all. It was not user friendly and the customer support was not what we expected. The cost was also very high and not worth what we were paying.

NOT actually Mac compatible and they don't care that it's not even though advertised as such.

Terrible. Our trainer was great. Occasionally we will get a decent support person but overall this isn't really a very functional EHR and it does NOT work for Mac users no matter what their advertising says.

Pros:

It's highly customizable which, if it worked well, would be amazing. The best part of this software for our practice is the ability (mostly) for patients to "self serve" when they need copies of their records. If it's all saved into a PDF properly and marked viewable and signed, then patients can print them from their portal page.

Cons:

Despite their advertising it's not actually Mac compatible. Safari never worked for printing a variety of things including paper claims. They took 10 weeks to acknowledge this & they aren't fixing it. Now, as of June, Chrome for Mac users also won't print paper claims. Despite it being a VITAL part of running a practice for anyone submitting for auto or WC insurances, they don't seem to care. It's now been nearly 6 weeks since this was identified & they don't have any ETA for a fix & no indication they ever will. Not sure what we will have to do since this practice has a number of auto/WC patients where the electronic billing doesn't work well since they then deny having received the medical records needed to process claims. You cannot attach medical records to the electronic claims for AdvancedMD. They also don't have enough support. It's now common to wait over 30 minutes to connect with a support professional if you call in the afternoon. Given how many things are glitchy and either don't work or stop working, this becomes a common practice of contacting support. When they have updates, the information in the carrier files has been known to just drop off & it has to be re-entered into the master files in order to submit claims.

Seemed like a really useful, customizable to a specialty practice, EHR. Sales promises & actual user experience often doesn't match up however.

Pros:

AdvancedMD is a system that you can trust to do your billing. We can bill, track claims, verify insurance coverage and post payments easily.

Cons:

I feel that medications on the EHR side needs to improve and more billing reports.

Reasons for choosing AdvancedMD Billing Services

Pm side with ECW was not accurate and couldn't control Aging Report. Reports where not matching numbers and contacted support without resolution (I had one provider testing the software) Support for ECW is located in India and Advanced MD is US based. Support with ECW was not easy and very time consuming. Very hard to get anything resolved.

Cons:

As a Medical Billing Company it's not very user friendly. Since our clients do not use the scheduler it makes it more labor intensive for data entry. Too many clicks of a mouse to get the information entered.

Reasons for choosing AdvancedMD Billing Services

Currently all but two of my clients use NueMd (Which AdvancedMd bought) I was unable to start a new account in Nuemd so I thought that the transition from NueMd to AdvancedMd would be a good idea. Currently it is not going to happen. NueMd is much more user friendly for Billing Companies.

Too expensive!!!

Very unhappy, couldn't wait to get out of it! They just kept raising our rates, it was crazy expensive and not worth what we paid for it.

Pros:

Not much! You can't set up templates or overrides for special modifier needs. When creating claims, you can't see a reference for that account for which modifier to use. (Medicaid would allow us to bypass Medicare with a special modifier so it is not an every day option to use, it is case by case, AMD has no way to handle that).

Cons:

The lack of control you have over your own practice.

It has a lot of really amazing features that really cut down on manual work.

Cons:

Training. We hardly received any training and due to that have really struggled with using the software and wasted a lot of time. Once you know how to use it, it really is great but the training needs major improvement.

AMD bought out Nuemd so we had to make the switch. Overall I am very pleased with the upgrade once we get the full functionality of the software. We will be attending their seminar to really learn how to use it to the fullest. I am confident once we have gotten that level of training we will really love it much more than we do right now.

Totally integrated with AMD ehr. Portal works well if patients can get into it

Cons:

Difficult sometimes to get into the portal. The patient has to have the exact name, email, and date of birth as the EHE system has. That seems easy but sometimes if there’s an initial or a name with an abbreviation or A hyphen patients can’t get into the portal

Pros:

Entering, editing, and submitting claims is easy to do, a step by step guide assist you. Patient billing has ticker system which makes it easy to keep up with who is paying, making monthly payment arrangement payments, and who is not paying.

Cons:

Some of the steps, while easy to get to, have some cumbersome spots, such as finding old claims submissions and having to look for reports of previous submissions.
